Ford Transit mk7 egr explanation
Переглядів 17 тис.3 роки тому
An explanation of how the egr valve from a mk7 Ford transit actually works. The valve is spring loaded so is closed when there is no power to the egr motor. There is a position sensor so if the power is disconnected then then the position sensor won’t work either and it will throw an engine management fault light.

He doesn’t answer emails from website
hi do I need to bypass the egg via hoses too as well as this module mines dumping coolant into expansion tryed everything else
Hi Chris, Before I press the BIN button on the order page (for a 2006- B40 L200) could you answer a few questions please? Does it affect the DPF? Is it legal in UK and does it affect UK MOT? Does it reduce lifespan of the catalyser? Thanks
Hi, a 2006 won’t have a dpf. They only started around 2011. Strictly speaking it’s not legal for road use but it’ll fly through an MOT without any issues
Very informative and well explained...transits are real bastards to work on..just did my starter motor, bought a good one as I never want to have to do that job again..egr valve next..thanks for the info..what a shame you can't get away with just unplugging them
you need to blank the egr and you put this module only for check light ?or u can put this and keep egr as it is?
Just fit the module and that’s it. No need to do anything else with the egr. The module will turn the egr system off and won’t throw an engine warning light. However, if you already have a check light before fitting the module it won’t fit it.
Hi Chris does it pay to take car for a tune after doing this mod or is it good to go as is?
you don't need a tune..But if you remap they can map out egr so no need for this egr delete
@@chesterstorm1 Thanks for this comment, was just about to buy one (as well as a blanking plate).. Decided on the blanking plate only until the remap ! thanks !😊
Just tried to order one from your Web site says out of stock. Also says you can pre order. However no way of doing that?
Hi Chris Can you use this with a blanking plate
Hi are these still available? I am a member of the l200 owners UK group and have seen these before but when I go onto the website it says there always out of stock.

Thank you 👍
What happens if the maf sensor stops working does the module stop aswell?
Hi. If the map sensor stops working you’ll get an engine a management warning on the dash. Use a code reader to get the exact fault code but if this stops the module would stop as well. You can’t run the truck with a broken maf anyway as it’s a vital component so if it does break get a new one ASAP.
Hi I ended up buying one off Ebay and the instructions said wait for led to flash red green blue but there is no led on the module what's that about
Ch@rB○¡ 1 ignore those. The led light is from an older model and no longer used
Ok thanks seems to be running better
Hi mate, I'm just wondering does this tell the motor that the temperature of the motor is actually different than what it's is?
Michael Allen yeah that’s pretty much how it works. The temp signal is used to control the egr so this is altered to keep it closed. However, the signal doesn’t affect any other system in the engine so there are no side effects.
@@chrisvalentine5883 so what about the outside temperature? That differs so... wouldn't this be not good for the overall car? Thinking that's it's colder/hotter than it actually is? I don't know I just can't get my head around it. Wouldn't the cpu change other things in the motor if it thinks the temperature is different than it should be?
Michael Allen no, there are two temp sensors callled AIT 1 and 2. The one that controls the egr won’t affect anything else. The other temp sensor needs to be left completely alone.
@@chrisvalentine5883 thanks heaps Chris. Appreciate it.
