@@JimmyRecard-ot9pg Nice ! I was looking at the Fluid line up also. This bike has a similar geometry to the fluid and was a great deal at the time. I had a Norco 'Manik' years ago with an old school Z1 Bomber. It was bullet proof 😄 They make good bikes 👌

@@JimmyRecard-ot9pg That's a good deal , for sure ! I would have done the same. Mine was $2099 , but I've upgraded the fork. Got a 2023 Marzzochi Z1 for $499AU and just installed a new OneUp Dropper today. Going to do the shock next. Basically turning the Rift Zone 1 into a Rift Zone XR ( ish 😄 )

So far I've only ridden Nerang, Bayview, Mt Cotton, UKI, Cornubia, Hinze Dam and quite obviously Daisy 😄 Oh and Karawatha as I don't even have to pack my bike. I just ride there 🚲

It's a beautiful place to ride. It was a bit tacky when I went there, and I found out my suspension wasn't set up well. All sorted now and I can't wait to go back 😄 . Thanks for tuning in ! 🤙

The Fork feels fine. I do however plan to upgrade the suspension eventually. Basically I want to make the Rift 1 better than the Rift XR . Some people see this as the cheapest trail bike on Bikesonline , but there's no dropper post or pedals , so technically, the Rift is more expensive than a PolygonT7, but totally worth it. I like the colour also 👌🤙

@@MTB_MICK Is it possible to upgrade to 12s speed cassette? What type of free hub that the stock cassette used? HG @ MSpline? I'm planning to upgrade to SLX drivetrain with XT 4pots brakeset.. Burgtec's riser handlebar ø35mm, stem & grip will more awesome

@@dzaeimfaisallokman1387 The rear wheel is something you may chose to replace anyway. It has boost spacing, but uses a QR / Skewer wheel. So in answer to your question, that is how I'll be going about changing to 12 speed. It can take a thru axle with a SRAM UDH. In my opinion, I would change gearing when the wheel and hub are swapped. I'm not sure if you can put a 12 speed cassette on the stock free hub.

Cheers Mick 🍻 First ride was fun, but 2nd ride was way better. I put a bit more pressure in my fork and shock, also tweaked the rebound/dampening. Definitely has me amped for more riding! 🚲🤙

Thanks brother ! First impressions are very positive. At the price point, I think it's great. I almost got the Polygon Siskiu T7 , but the geometry of the Marin looked more suited to me. Surprisingly good climber too. I was shocked that it climbs better than my XC bike 😐🤣

@@MTB_MICK mate they are a great climber. You can’t beat a short travel trail bike with banger geo. So stoked mate

@@mickfromrocky Definitely... even at 130 / 140 though, to me it feels like a lot of travel compared to the 120 hard tail I've been riding 😆.

Cheers 😄 ! Yeah that new trail was open, but didn't realise how muddy it was. So it was running a bit slow. After the ride in, I picked up the pace on Chipline. All other trails were sweet that day. Jim's was still pretty fresh. To be honest, Jim's is definitely faster when it's dry, however I still try to conserve my energy for the better trails 🤙

It's definitely a nice addition. Make's the trip a bit more interesting and it's a better warm up than just riding in a straight line.

Cheers, was my first time down that one. Bees Knees is a bit dusty at the start, but the downhill part is more like Jumping Ant and Possum Box. Flowmentum's video is definitely more exciting lol ... I guess with mine , you get a good chance to take in the scenery 🤣

Haha, cheers bud. It was a different time and when all my mates went from rock, metal and grunge to Rave music in the 90s, playing guitar at parties didn't feel the same for me 😄 ... I'm not much of a dancer, so I learned beat mixing records and how electronic music was made. I really should get a new set of decks now that technics is making the 1200 again. Still got all my vinyl from over the years 😁🎧

Yeah, it was a bit slow going when I rode it, but I'm sure it will get better once it's firmed up. I preferred the ride back to the car park on Jim's Trail... but it seems like a good warm up on the way in 👍

Cheers Craig. Still learning how to ride trails, and going to step up from the hard tail to a full suspension bike soon. Then I'll probably get some lessons to correct any bad habits I have LOL. Loving every minute of it though.... well, except the climbs 🤣

Cheers ! It's not a bad spot. It's had a bit of cash poured into it recently. Some old trails have been upgraded, and there's some new trails too. Cool that it's also relatively close to Cornubia, Mt Cotton Eastern Escarpment and Bayview Conservation Area MTB Trails 😁
