I never got the "boy toy" vibe even before Val was introduced as his son. Armand seemed a little aloof and the way Val gave him the confused look when he touched his hair.

This movie had a stellar cast: Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Hank Azaria, Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest, Calista Flockhart, Christine Baranski, Dan Futterman...just superb.
