l really enjoyed the magnificent bird's eye view I was able to get with the use of my drone. Even with restrictions of a 100 meter buffer zone from the whales. There were literally hundreds of whales going through during our short four day stay

My First Whirligig
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
During the COVID-19 Stage 4 lock down in Melbourne Australia, i had way too much spare time on my hands and decided to design and make my very first Whirligig. I had an idea of making it of me on my boat 'TWO UTES' hooked up to my very first marlin which happened out of Bermagui N.S.W in March 2097....Here is the result of many hours tinkering in my home workshop, making do with materials i had...

    What are the ones with the bars? I got a wild discus from a local pet store, but they couldn't tell me what it was. I'm inclined too believe that it's either a Ianu or a Mengal. Won't let me post a pic or I would

    @cateater4u2 All billfish do it, especially Sailfish. They do it to dislodge any obstruction in their throat or mouth. The fish isn't hurt at all, it's kinda like how we can stick out our tongue...except billfish can do it with their stomach lol.

    @gam12010 Cool. Seen the house boats on the river, and look like great set ups. Depending on how much fresh is still in the river...the best bet would be close to the mouth, as we spent lots of time fishing the mangroves around centre island. ENJOY!

    Nice Little Tunny. Man, those things must run the seas of the world. We catch them here in the Gulf of Mexico off of Florida and Alabama coasts. Most just call them Bonito eventhough they're not a true Bonito. In winter they're kinda' small but in the summer the real "hogs' come through. Those "Borilla's", as we call 'em really peel off the drag. Lots of fun on light gear.

    no l buy the beef heart ready to go frozen in small cubes. Be very careful feeding it in a tank with gravel...can cause you big problems

  • @twoutesmarlin
    @twoutesmarlin 16 років тому

    In the planted take l only do a 50% water change once a week, with the use of a gravel cleaner. While siphoning the water out l place it around the bottom of the tank picking up waste and rubbish. I re fill the tank with water straight out of the tank. As our Melbourne water is very good. Hope you get some discus, they really are worth the trouble!

  • @twoutesmarlin
    @twoutesmarlin 16 років тому

    Hi Ingie. Thanks for your comments. Yes they do take alot of looking after, especially if you buy them small....which works out much cheeper. But they really are worth th effort. As you watch them grow, their colors and patterns start to come through. Check out some of my others clips on 'twoutesmarlin'
