DIY Solar Generator Simple Emergency Backup System

This has been my foray into using solar energy. It has been a great little, plug and play backup system. The harbor Freight panels produce up to 100 watts each, and the Duracell pack can handle up to 200 watts max input via the solar charging port. Remember your Roots: A Key to Overcoming Setbacks in Life

While on my morning run on the North Shore of Oahu, I notice a Stump that remembered its divine potential. It remembered that it was a tree. It was able to overcome the traumatic setback of being cut down and regrow as a tree, because it was deeply rooted.

Pretty rough audition: I found out in the middle of rugby practice about the time change for the audition. So without a shower, change of clothes, or even a warm-up, this is what came out. Regardless, this is still one of my favorite things to sing.

I’m not a food addict but I’d struggle to do a water fast too, as would most people. It’s too extreme. Get some weights, start doing them at home.

I appreciate the advice. Fasting, isn't my first choice. I workout at the gym 6 days a week in the mornings, and I walk 4-6 miles most evenings, with my kids. Portion control is my biggest problem. I'm hoping that extended fasting will help me gain the control over food, and the health I need. Thanks again for commenting :)

You are right about everything, thank you for putting it out there. I find it hard to be addicted to something I can never stop doing. What has given me comfort is learning that while protein, fat and water are daily essentials, there is no such thing as an essential carb, which means I can cut them totally, without entertaining the option of eating them at all. I've been feeling less sleepy and more motivated by eating more omelettes and steaks, fewer breads and zero sweets. I also learned that if you don't eat anything sweet tasting for three days, the craving stops. I'm still not exercising, but my weight gain has stopped and my pants feel more comfortable. You are brave, and strong enough to see it through.

I'm working on eleminating carbs, as I agree, they aren't essential. However, carbs are absolutely my weakness! I hope that finding the discipline to do extended fasting, will give me the willpower to overcome my compulsion to consume carbs. Thanks for the support!

I am in a similar situation, and have been for a couple of years. Here are the couple things I can share which I don't see on every website out there: 1) The body needs physical pleasure. Food seems to be the easiest way to get that. However, we forget what it's like to be outdoors and not have tons on our minds. It is a lot easier to eat less when you are taking time to just sit outside and feel the breeze and smell the nature and focus on how nice it all feels. 2) Alternative foods beat radical diets. I found that I can have chicken wings with hot sauce and my blood sugar is unaffected. I found I like pizzas with a cauliflower crust. They have recipes for chicken-based crusts too. I also found that long-lasting foods help. A candy bar gets you a minute and a half of pleasure, but a sugar free hard candy can get you 20 minutes. I get mine from amazon and have chocolate ones for around the office, fruit ones for the bedroom and mint ones for when I leave the house. And check out the research on how you can cut the sugar reaction in bread by freezing it and thawing it. The sugar impact is about half of what it normally is. 3) Check out rice flour. I started into it with spicy rice cakes, which is like a doughy pasta. You can bake breads with it too. 4) Check out wheelchair exercise resources. $40 can get you a workout setup that can get you healthier without you ever having to even stand up. 5) Have projects for your free time that have goals. When you sit around watching tv all day, you think about food a lot. When you have stories to write, puzzles to assemble, computer code to program or anything that has a starting point and a finishing point to work towards, you often get into the flow of the task and forget about food altogether. and... 6) Don't underestimate the role of stress and sleep on weight and sugar. Their impact is huge - maybe even more than what you eat, long-term. Taking Melatonin before sleep has helped the blood sugar a lot here. I recommend you get a continuous glucose monitor if you don't have one and use your body like a research lab for a while. Feel free to send questions along if you have any. You're into a learning event that is going to last the rest of your life! Speeding up the learning is always good. Good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to share your insights! One of my daughters favorite foods is chicken wings, so we eat chicken wings pretty regularly. Stress has been a big problem, and I suspect my biggest complications. I'm working on it. Thanks again, for commenting :)

Once you solve the issues underlying your food addiction, your weight loss will just be a side effect. You will not be a better father just by losing weight, you will become a better father because you're actually facing up to your issues and taking control of your life. Let yourself be satisfied by smaller portions. You got this.

I had to give up sugar 3 months ago. Sugar was a huge trigger for me for bingeing. Food is my addiction and my enemy. People ask how I gave it up. Once I got rid of processed carbs and sugar I stopped craving them. But I had to really give up all of it. Its work everyday but after 3 months I have lost 20 pounds and feel amazing. You can do this.

I don't consume a lot of processed anything. Home cooked, from scratch food is always better than anything restaurant-made, or store bought. That being said, I still have my kryptonite foods. Good job on entirely eliminating sugar! I'm working on it...

I will put out a review soon; however, between you and me, I have been pleasantly surprised by this drone. That said, it seems to struggle in even a slight breeze, we've had some near disasters with power lines, a horse corral, and a grass-filled swamp... But other than that it has been fun. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. :)
