Omg!! I wanted to try both but we couldn’t finish it because just Tien and I eating them. We didn’t want to waste food. I am kinda kicking myself in the butt 🤦‍♀️ I would fly to Singapore just to eat their crab. 🤤

that's dried mandarin peel not kumquat..however that red bean soup looks too watery.

Yeah!! Definitely not what I expected..

Kumquat, tangerines and mandarin oranges tend to be loosely used interchangeably to refer to the variety of oranges with thin peels. The style of the red bean soup in the video is the Teochew (and probably Fujian) style which I grew up eating. Most people will be more familiar with the Cantonese/Guangdong style where the soup is blended to a smooth paste as this is style served in many Chinese restaurants.

We went to Chinatown already in the last video ☺️ unfortunately missed the Chinatown hawker centre 🤦‍♀️😞 we tried the hawker centre outside Chinatown .. food is definitely cheaper compared to Maxwell.

Hock Lai Seng is an established noodle stall, having operated for 23 years. They have 4 noodle items available : the basic version costs $4.50, and the "deluxe" version costs $6, $8 and $10, depending on the size. So the price depends on what item you order.

Tien definitely got the Large 😂😂 that’s why it cost a little more. No regret. He and Avery like it ☺️

We started out at Lau Pa Sat and We did went to the Chinatown hawker centre for dinner and you are right! Food is so much cheaper ☺️

@@abctravelers yeah I watched that but I think most people don't know the Chinatown Complex is at another end. That hawker place you went to is called People's Park where there are lots of Chinese stalls. Chinatown Complex is more localised with a wet market at the basement level :D And most stalls there operate breakfast and lunch. It has over 100 food stalls. The cheapest Michelin rated food is at this hawker centre - Hawker Chan. (though he lost the star not long ago after expanding).
