went out fishing for about 20 mins caught a few but it gives you a good look at the stream
The flip flop idea was engineered many moons ago and you actually waisted your time with it cuz it’s already incorporated in the motor mount of your trolling motor , it also has tilt locking positions to lock in the up position , throw away the hinge idea it’s already done , study your motor and the mount and learn its functions and features , don’t mount it backwards like a lot of goobers are doing out here , and all you out there need to find a good example of how to mount your motors there are a lot of bad / wrong examples on these tube videos
Folding mount is great idea, thanks.
That cut board will break. Good luck fishing your motor out.
The only real concern I have with your set up is the bolts protruding above the board behind your seat. I just see that to be a safety concern, e.g., ripping a hole in my palm of my hand. Suggest reversing the bolt assembly for the ‘permanent’ board, and then adding another set of bolts to the ‘removable’ board with smooth/rounded heads and wing nuts to tighten from the underside of the permanent board. Otherwise, your motor mount is brilliant!! Thanks for posting this.
Dont put your hand on the wingnuts
use a zip lock plastic bag.
Nice work
yes you are smart.. good idea that mount flip when hits something under water... thank you for sharing...very smart...
What happens when you reverse with the hinge?
Glue a magnet into the wood and there’s your storage space for the nuts and bolts.
um um um
Nice
I really like your idea. I had done something similar to it with a single door hinge. After a trip for other stuff at Lowe's I found these spring hinges and they come 2 in a package. They can be a challenge to put on but they will do the trick. The whole board across the mount is hinged behind the seat and feels like it will flex and spring back into position. Once all this virus crap stops maybe I can try it out.
Yea it worked great. Im a few years older now and i could've done alot better, it was alittle sloppy.
Oh that was decent, I think we just get impatient, at least I do! I need to make the board wider across the transom so it quits squeaking on the edges of the boat railing. Thanks for sharing though!
Lol as soon as you put the throttle on the motor will flip up.
I was gonna do this but I think you may be right
Only in reverse... No great thinker are you
THE BEST
Getting ideas for my canoe. like your setup. Thx
Do you still have the motor or did it sink after that tiny hinge broke off?
That thought crossed my mind too. Kid has a great idea though. Gotta' give him credit for that.
Anddyyyyyyy
I’m gonna build it I’m calling it the drewski
stan burd lol
totally perfect! Instead of the crown royal bag, just screw the wingnuts on the permeant bolts sticking up ;)
put a leash on your motor just in case
so that door piece is ment to lift the motor up and that open cut part is for the handle to go through to help lift it alright i see noe
Thx for the great vid it works better then most I've watched that you have ti actually drill thru the boat
Be careful when you start to build one of these motor mounts. I have a Pelican Canoe and had to go with the metal motor mount because you cannot mount one like this very securely.
thanks man! I will probably use your hinge idea
Interesting design Drewski, check my channel out you can see my rig! :D
the hinge is a good idea, !!!
loving the hinge idea" for sure using that mechanism. thanks!
Angler978 m
Decent rig!!
If that is on the back of the canoe, shouldn't the hinge tip FORWARD instead of backward? You want the engine to go UP not down, right? Unless I don't understand how you mounted it, which you didn't show? FYI, all the jerkin' around of the camera, and saying "uh" every other word is distracting.
Good idea, with the hinge and the simple clip mechanism.
Cool man! I like the hinge too! Watched a lot of how to mounts and think this one will work best for my kayak.
Yeah its a great thing I put it there I would have broke it by now I hit stuff all the time
excellent idea with the hinge!
great dong Ashley
