Why is that bike smoking so much?
I’m hoping it was a little cool there.
Exhaust sound is sweet, not loud but has a presence and the bike itself is so nice.

That is not a stage 1 exhaust. That is a gutted stock exhaust.

All of the complaints about it being quiet. I'd take the Indian over a Harley any day because it's great-looking without being obnoxious.
The Indian Scout is a great bike. I had the chance to test ride a Scout and a HD Sportster 1200 within days of each other and the Scout blew away the Sportster in every category except sound. I wrangled another test ride at a different Indian dealership and I was lucky enough to ride a Scout that a customer had traded in IOT uograde to a Chief. That bike had RCX 3" slip-ons. They changed the exhaust sound from anemic to incredible. Deeper and louder than stock Harley pipes. That would have to be my first mod (of only a few) to an Indian Scout.
This is not a 2014 Indian. Its the new Springfield!
I got a 2016 Scout 60 2 weeks ago, the exhaust is stock and sounds much better than what is represented here. When I took it out for a test ride I loved the rumble!
It sounds similer to Guzzi sound with factory pipes...

Six Shooters have a gnarly growl. The Shark Fin tips have crisper bark. Both well worth the upgrade.

We recorded this around the end of December, so the heat was causing it to "fog up." Wasn't smoking at all.

Sounds like my 2000 Honda Sabre 1100. Too quiet and too much internal engine noise.
It's weird because when they give it the gas the sound doesn't get louder. That means the muffler is really compressing the hell out of the sound and killing it.

Ok so this is the stock exhaust I'm assuming. They have the option of slapping on an exhaust that sounds better. I really want to hear that one! I want a comparison now.
I got mine in sept, There is no dealer in Memphis so very one is impressed that hears it run . I love it !!!!

I love the bike but the exhaust sounds like a tin can. Still can't find one good exhaust clip with a indian motorcycle. I thought Vance and hines would have some good exhausts out for them by now
The exhaust is stock. They offer another option called "stage 1" which is supposed to sound better.
These new V-twin engines just don't have the same thump, sound or soul as the old V-twins. What a shame.
They sound a lot better in person.

It's a stock exhaust bro. Look at the length of the muffler it's like 3 ft long! That's why it sounds like that. This scout will out perform any Indian scout made prior by far so I'm not worried that it doesn't have the same "thump". I want to hear what it's gonna sound like with the upgraded exhuast they offer.
john mills its not the motor, its the stock exhaust, I own one and the motor is a powerhouse.......... most aftermarket companies haven't had a chance to get their pipes out yet but the ones that have sound great.
or leak oil, shake parts off, and have low horsepower! Dont get me wrong, the old Indians were beautifull bikes overall , but were a pain in the ass to depend on for carefree riding, same as old Harleys,BSA<Norton lotta charm lotta headaches!
