You boys have something special here. I've only discovered this game 2 days ago. I had never played what I think is the original, Xeno FIghters EX, so I downloaded both. You need to advertise this game better, it is a gem. I'm sure a lot of SHMUPS channels on youtube would love to feature your game and discuss it. Anyway just wanted to say how much fun I've had playing it. I've played it on my 1080p projector, a huge screen. Wish I could play it with friends. For some reason the TwinBee stage brought me so much joy. It would be nice to have an online scoring system and co-op, if there isn't one already. I haven't explored everything the game has to offer. Suggestion for stages: Slap Fight (Alcon), Twin Cobra, Hellfire, R-Type Leo, Darius.... Such an immense list of possibilities.

You know, I could've sworn for the longest time that "Blue - The Day You Live On Earth" was always in the game from its arcade debut, and that you could get it with some luck outside of the Special Mode from the first-gen ports. But I played the first-gen ports lately too - looks like I got Mandela Effect'd. Both that and "Antithese"? Mode-exclusive. I do like that the Arrange music mode in this straight-from-arcades port finally makes that musical dream of mine a reality. It's an interesting experience at times because you only go through a few sections per play and thus it really varies what snippets of the song you get, whereas the full song was purpose-built to cover every stage as its exclusive mode was built. At the same time, with how much I find myself jumping from soundtrack to soundtrack in this game alone, I can't help but wonder if I should experiment some with audio editing in future showcases from this compilation... Hmmmmm. Well, back to my grind to unlock free map selection!

Short mod-related announcement: XMF's first release will officially be moved to sometime after the public release of XFR v0.300! This means I'll have some tweaks to do to get it fully ready for the transition.

Also, regarding the weird video output: That was the result of weirdness with an OBS fork I long since discontinued in my videos. I remember working out how to reset aspect ratio to normal despite the lack of an undo feature in said fork, but this did not happen until a while after this video.

Decided to drag this one out of my archives and spruce things up after a few months' silence. It was the first vid I ever recorded for this channel, so no control overlay this time. First instance of shaders tho'! I've warmed up to these more in recent stuff.

Somehow I never noticed this until an experiment I ran last night during trouble with a RetroAchievements set that uses both GG releases for some reason, but here's another reason I don't like the international version: For *added* fake difficulty, they add more boss HP, at least sometimes. This makes it significantly harder to stay in the air during the fourth boss. In fact, many a run on the international version, I would wind up getting damaged after a while because of how much longer it takes. Friendly reminder for any game makers or localizers out there that extra *tedium* is *not* extra difficulty. Also, to the players: Seriously, just don't play the international version of this game unless you're on RA yourself and playing this game for it.
