Your goal is to add 1 part per million to treat drinking water. This is easiest to achieve by using typical household bleach (unscented!) Regular household bleach is generally a 5% solution so you need to add no more than 1 Liter per 100 liters of well water. You would have to figure out the volume of your well by measuring the size and depth of your well. Using powdered chlorine is a bit trickier to figure out and you need to know the exact strength to determine how much to use to get a final solution of 1 part per million. When mixing in powdered chlorine always dissolve it in a bucket of water before adding it to the well. Adding powdered chlorine directly to the well may not dissolve properly. Do not add more chlorine than 1 part per million for health and safety!
