  • @mikejohnson601
    @mikejohnson601 11 днів тому

    Trying to decide if I want this generator. I would use it to power my gas furnace in case of a power outage in winter. I have a few EZ generator switches installed already on my electrical panel that I can run extension cords to and power my kitchen lights and outlets and living room lights outlets. Currently using my predator 6500 generator to run those when power is out. I think my generator has a bonded neutral and the EZ generator switches are wired for that. Is the inverter generator a bonded or floating neutral?

Them I wet sanded with 320, 600 and 800. What I've done has turned out nice. I just wish the stripper I'm using took more off on the first application. I have the same generator and ran it for 72 hours with Milton. Piece of advice is replace the OEM Torch brand spark plugs with something else, it should take about 3 minutes based on your mechanical ability from your other videos. MAKE SURE you gap the new ones because the gap is way too small from the way the new ones came. The smaller gap will foul the plugs in 45 minutes, ask me how I know. Anyway, toss those Torch plugs in the garbage. Buy 4 champions and have 2 for spares. The champions don’t have the threaded tips like Autolite or NGK champion is a solid tip that won’t vibrate loose. The engine is made by Ducar, the same manufacturer that makes Harbor Freight engines and it’s in everything so parts are available. Motorcraft FL-400S is a good replacement oil filter as it’s cheap and twice the size as the replacement mower filters at half the cost. The battery is a Delco type with the screw in threads inside the battery. A mower battery is 35 bucks and works fine but you will need a screw, nut and lock washer on each terminal but you won’t have to buy the expensive replacement Delco terminal type battery. Just thought you might like to know these things. Oh, Diesel 10w 30 or 15w 40 is an outstanding oil for air cooled engines due to the high zinc and phosphorus content and is inexpensive. Rotella T3 is probably the best @ 14 bucks a gallon at Walmart.

    • @RandomlyAwkward1
      @RandomlyAwkward1 2 місяці тому

      Thank you for the great advice. I was going to change the oil on it tomorrow anyway so I guess I might upgrade my filter and plugs. If I make a video on it, I’ll give you a shout out for the great advice! By the way, this generator was a beast, and we had a fuel consumption rate of just over 1 gallon per hour. That was running the whole house air conditioning, all the lights, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, Internet, TV, two guest bedrooms and two bathrooms.

    • @dustin9035

    • @RandomlyAwkward1
      @RandomlyAwkward1 2 місяці тому

      Temporarily lifting the aluminum track allows you to cut it flush down to the concrete. Once the cut is made you lower the aluminum back down flat. This does not weaken the aluminum and it keeps you from hitting the concrete with your cutting tool.

    I just got mine on the last day of Harbor Freight’s big season sale. It’s whisper quiet and easy to use. I added a hour meter yesterday and it works great. I want to be sure I keep track of all scheduled maintenance so my 2000 is always ready and able when needed and lasts for many years to come. I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a easy to use generator that offered enough power and a pure sine wave inverter for sensitive electronics. P.s.: I order a fuel shutoff valve and will add that next. Who knows maybe I’ll eventually modify it to run on propane one day. 😊

    • @RandomlyAwkward1
      @RandomlyAwkward1 2 місяці тому

      I think it’s a great little generator for the money. When I’m done using it, I just pour the fuel out, let the oil settle, and run it until it dies. No issues with bad gas fouling the carb. Each time I use it, it starts on the first or second pull.

    The 14-50 is rated at 50 amps though so how are you going to use it to run every single thing in the house without tripping the breaker is the question. I have the Westinghouse 20000(28000 peak) it has two 14-50Rs. The only way to use the full power of the generator, if needed, is somehow run it in parallel. Maybe two transfer switches? Let me know what you figured out with your setup.

    • @RandomlyAwkward1
      @RandomlyAwkward1 2 місяці тому

      When the electrician wired the transfer switch, it has a 60 amp breaker installed. The generator has a 75 amp breaker and by not using everything at the same time, we are able to manage the power throughout the home. It worked great during Hurricane Milton!

    • @RandomlyAwkward1
      @RandomlyAwkward1 2 місяці тому

      Cutting a recess in the bottom track doesn’t weaken the structure any, but I don’t think there is a problem with putting washers under it. It may make your screen loose due to the upward bow however. Also, a larger opening will allow more debris to pass through when cleaning.
