From the moment the "husband" approached the wife with the tea and she recoils subtly, one could sense the ugliness behind that charming vineer of that man. (Yes, l deliberately included the word husband within inverted commas, for we all can agree this sick person doesn't fit the true meaning of that word in any way). This is very powerful story telling. With a minimum amout of dialogue, without any words passed between the two main characters, the strength of non verbal expressions of those two artists superbly convey all what the director/ script writer wanted to tell his viewers. The ugliness some creatures who are only human only in appearance carry within and the tragedy of the silent sufferers because of these sick individuals. A disturbing but not so uncommon facet of life. Congratulations to you for another great work! I've enjoyed your previous creation " The Apartment" too. Keep up the good work. P.S. I wanted to scream at the woman to get the heck out of that house and that broken "relationship!" Go away, go, go ...!!! *Any* place would be better than that gilded cage you're in. Well, again, powerful work indeed!
Thank you so much for the amazing comment! I'm glad the message went through and you enjoyed it! Perhaps one detail did not come across - that she is pregnant (the happy news that is mentioned by the neighbor), which is why she cannot "leave" per se :)
@@sahan.fernando Oh, thank you so much for your kind response including the explanation. Actually, the fact that the neighbour brought *milkrice* and said something about celebrating...did convey that. And l guessed as much. But I wasn't hundred percent sure. I wanted to check the whole film again. But l couldn't 😅. Because it's too early for me to re-view a very dark side some people like the character of the man in your film seem to possess. It's not at all a weakness of your direction or the script. It's just because of the depth of the shock l felt at the whole sad situation the woman was in and the seering cruelty of the man that l could not bring myself to view the film again, just yet. I should have paid more attention when l watched it, because, every tiny detail in films, especially short films, tells the viewer an important part of the story at hand. Especially the indoor plant with a flower bud that the man touches also should have brought me your meaning. Yes, as you said, she cannot leave just like that. My reaction mentioned in my original comment was nothing as a defect of your work. It's the ordinary human reaction we normal people have when we see our fellow humans in a dangerous situation. In my view, it's actually a testament of the success of your work, because the viewer gets engaged thoroughly with the story! And kudos to great acting from all artists involved in the work. Again, congratulations to you all!
