Falcon F5K - Low level safe F5K Competition - Thermal rc glider -
Dutch F5K competition on September 11th 2022. Round 3: All up, 4 minutes max.
I made a wrong decision and rather then flying upwind, like the rest of the competitors, I decided to turn left to search for a thermal. Unfortunately I ended up in some very bad sink whereas the others were skyrocketed to great height. (So, for the Dutchies, the voice over is not correct. I did not start low... I took a wrong turn and hit some very bad air)
I still needed to fly 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete the 4 minutes flying time when I bumped into a weak thermal just above the field. Flying very cautiously I managed to use every small little bump to gain height and complete the 4 minutes.
The Falcon F5K is an exceptional good flying glider!

Inside F5J Der Himmlische Hollein. This was my second day flying. Note: first part cruising at high altitude. At 1 min 35, I deliberately push the plane in a descent to land it. I have another - smaller - video also.

Thermal flight of my electrified SIG Riser 100. I brought it up to about 250 meters, straight into a thermal. Used flaps several times to loose height but kept on going up. Shortened the video, some nice arial footage, it was a very clear day (sorry it's not in HD....) 6 October 2013

Video shows what hobbyking components (frame, esc's and motors) work well together for making your first quadcopter and how to set it up and get it to fly stable with use of the kk2.0 board. There are enough videos on how to build quadcopters. Not enough that show what combination of components and set up work well for a beginner. By the way, the lipos are 3s 2200's. I have flown the quad with ...

I have a quadcopter my self. To answer your question the esc get's power from the distribution board . The esc wil then power the kk2.0 board .

Hi Roger. Great video. I was able to have many questions answered to my liking and was very happy with your explanation of so many build points. I especially liked the way you added a cover to protect the electronics and explained your way to add the power distribution board under the KK 2. Great advice from this entire video. Thanks for taking time to make this and safe flying.

Enig idee?

I gon't quite understand how to run electricity through this thing properly. If I could get my hands on a quadcopter and just investigate I could get it but nobody I know also does this for a hobby. 1:55 you have a "power distribution board" but how does it connect to the kk2? how to you connect your receiver as well?

Goede video! I use more or less the same settings with KK2 board with 1.5 firmware. P gain for self leveling set at 75. Great stability!

Excellent video Roger. When are you going to post the next stages of the setup. Till now I have been using Naza GPS but I am moveing this to a hex which I am currently building so I am installing KK2 into my Talon V2 but am having issues due to my ignorance of the board. I made a simple mistake of omitting to disconnect one motor wire on each when calibrating, this resulted in frying one of the motors.
