Just had a 100,000 mile checkup. I have a very, very slow oil leak. Its been 3 drops over 9 months. Had the serpintine belt changed, $195, and priced the oil leak with my mechanic, $2000. He told me it was so small that it wasn't worth the worry.
Have you done are other work on this vehicle? I’m also a novice and my 2008 e320 always has issues. It would be awesome if we could relay information to each other.
Yes, I have done my own brakes. Changed the oil, I bought a siphon pump for that and it works great. I replaced the windshield wiper pump, and added a clamp because the after market connection was slightly smaller. That is all I have done and I've owned it 10 years.
Update. Just did my second air filter change. 15 minutes. The left side was 5 min, and the right was 10, only because the right side is not as easily accessed. I also did not disconnect the air pipe (plenum) to the turbo. The two filters were $27 on eBay.
Thanks for the video and update. Hopefully you've acquired a socket set with an extension by now. Having the right tools for the job can make it so much easier.
+Brett Rhoades do you know if it's the same process to change for 2011 ml350 bluetec? My mechanic asked for 260, i think he's not competent in this matter, who pays 260 for an air filter change
+rndinco I believe so, if your engine looks like mine, then yes. I recently changed the fuel filter and it took me 35 minutes. There are a couple of good videos already here. The right side was much easier this last time since the connection to the front air feed was not "jammed" prior to the first change. it took me all of 15 minutes. I don't hurry through things and double check behind myself. just be careful to drop the air filters in but do not bolt them in, put the plenum (air exchanger) on the center first, then move the filters into the plenum and tighten the clamps, then the filter bolts. tighten, but don't so much that you pull the filters off the plenum.

No Idea, but I believe it is the same engine setup, not sure though. Sorry I just saw this today.
You will need a T25 Screwdriver, and a compatible 5/16s socket that is actually a star driver(which I did not have)
