Fisheries don't want you to put the carp back in the ponds or waterways, they are an introduce species. That blue one is a Pearl Cichlid which is native to eastern South America, so another introduced species.

@ the lightest setup I have atm it’s not very expensive at all from bcf it’s the abu Garcia 7’ 2-4kg with a 2500 reel spooled with 8lb braid and I’m trying to figure out some good lures to use off the beach with the light flick rod and also some soft plastics I’ll definately give the lures a shot

@@CooperStandring Roosta poppers so red and white , Stick baits that are vibrant and look like fish, Molosi metals, suga pens, normal plastics so 2.5-3 inch bloodworm slim swim and the motor oil slim swim , jerkshads etc you mainly want something around 10g if not save for a lighter rod like an infeet s 23 they are very affordable and worth the money

@ give it a crack mate tassie devils and RMGs have been my best so far. Try fishing around fast moving water where there is deep spots next to it in rivers or where fallen trees are in dams with structure in colder deeper parts as it hits warmer weather 👍🏻

There isnt a single local council that would introduce carp into our waterways like one of your previous comments highlighted. Nutria get culled for a price and their tails need to be 6" minimum. The local council stocked the ponds so you have to release the carp and they arent damaging anything and I also realise other pond because they shouldn't be killed for where they live

Carps are over 30kg in Europe. I caught one that was 24kg back in Italy. They are so fun to catch and they pull!
The only reason they are so small in WA is that no decent amounts of food from the anglers go in the water. The poor things are starving. Everything is behind in Au but give it another 20 years and the aussies will find out how good and difficult it is to catch 30 kg+ carp. Best freshwater fish worldwide and catch & release is the way to go!
