Westfield Depot to Britomart Empty

Leaving from "The Grid" at Westfield, pulling out past the Depot and Marshalling Yards, turning around on the West Backshunt next to the Railweld Depot, follow this Empty Service to Auckland via Glen Innes, passing through the Purewa Tunnel and over the picturesque Orakei Basin, and the Ports of Auckland Yard. Points to note: Electrification on this line has still got a wee way to go. All mast ...
Waitakere to Britomart

Another one for you, this time on Auckland's Western Line from Waitakere to Britomart. Again, I had to take this over two trips, as on the main run this was filmed on, the camera fell off its pedestal! Both trips had the same DFT Class Locomotive however. Waitakere to Ranui was filmed on a morning run, and from Ranui onwards on an afternoon run a few days later. Spot the extra poles that have g...

Take a Cab Ride "Down The Hill" into the worlds only underground diesel terminal station.
Swanson is now currently the last station on the Western Line
thank god it didnt affect me very much when i was a little kid and now i have to suffer with the current state of nz public transport :( i wonder if this 10 years ago is worse than to this day? hmm
It seems like the railway trains in Auckland hasn't changed much in the last 10 years
what do you mean?
Waitakere station doesn't exist anymore
Real time is better with real train sounds and NO music.
After watching the understandably rapid take-off on full power from the very short runway at Wellington, I'm wondering if this is the closest the usually demure Singaporeans get to shrieking: "Out of our way! CHA-A-A-ARGE!"
Great time of day to film - looks really good. I made an almost identical video. The Metroliner is the worst aircraft I've flown in and I actually injured myself leaving the aircraft.
Is there one at normal speed X1 that is?
what airline did you fly with?
Singapore airlines
ARE YOU DRIVEING THE TRAIN
I know this is an old video, but do you have the original real-speed footage with real sound?
Super video!
Awesome video Looking forward to the day SIA returns to Wellington. Miss the B772!
😬 I got some news
I love Pukekohe
what was it like?
wellingtons runway is under 7000 ft I did not thought it was enough for a 777 service
hi may I ask what is the name of the background music?
May i ask what is the name of the back ground music?
Britmart Newmarket And Pukuka Has juck Tracks
If only they would electrify the lines between Papakura and Pukekohe sooner rather than later. Thanks for the upload.
Your dream is coming true right now.
@@TxtalArmi 4 years later better than never, great news
wow it took them 4 years to actually electrify the train lines between Papakura and Pukekohe
soon...
Did not use much runway!!
Great video thanks. Im flying business class on SQ from WLG/MEL in april. Great day for flying out of windy Wellington ✈️
Great video. Love how you show the whole train too.
I remember Whittingham very well as a Army Cadet it had a railway platform back in the 1960's and 70's we were then transported back forth to Singleton Army Camp from Whittingham
Thanks, enjoyed this one. Love the jazz. Such fun!
Actualy blues...totally appreciated
Was your flight full?
Damn that’s was a fast takeoff and Climb
Yep. It was a lot more "Gutsy" than the departure out of MEL, two days prior!
New Zealand looks so much like England actually can’t differentiate
England are mostly metros or subways but NZ are railway trains
I love level crossings
they are not a good plane as not good to get in and out of, no in cabin storage and you can not stand up in them at all, if you were a child its fine.
sjcnz48 Very small craft, I could imagine
@@biponacci We called them 'flying pencils' when they were in and out of Wellington on provincial routes. I flew Wellington the New Plymouth and return once. Yeah narrow and no headroom, but less than an hour's trip meant not too onerous.
Wow wish the real train ran that fast 😀
Were trains slower today than the trains in the past, I haven't took the train since 2012
RIP Waitakere Station
it might come back
Cheer up there are plans to go beyond he station towards huapi by trains to huapi website on facebook
Yeah those electric trains can't fit through that tunnel between Swanson to Waitakere so that station no longer exists
@@ninjapirate123 You are correct. (Well, strictly it still exists, but not as a stop:-). I presume the tiny number of passengers to/from Waitakere did not warrant the expense of raising the tunnel roof (or better, decreasing the grade by lowering the floor,) to accommodate the overhead wires. I would be sorry to see the tunnel remodelled anyway. Did you know those clever engineers built a kiln on-site and baked the tunnelled-out clay to make bricks to line the tunnel?
@@flamencoprof Thats an interesting fact, I really didn't know that
Ah this takes me back to when I lived in Aucks.
very beautiful !!!! from brazil..
That was an impressive watch
Miss those 😭
I love this video I used to live in Mt Albert and take the train to Pukekohe every day!
Nigel Fletcher l
How do you get in the cab? I've tried at the Pukekohe shuttles but the driver denied it. Later found out it was SPAD risk.
The train station in new and old to
Swanson to britomart is a train and cool and good too
Nice one, thanks for posting.
The Takanini freight cossing was perfectly timed :)
That's a decently sized train 126 around 1:00
Yes there was. That location is the the former station at Paerata. The new station proposed under electrification is south of that nearer the Pedestrian Crossing.
About 0.45, were there used to be a platform between the tracks?
Yo
Yes, Paerata Station, which they are currently starting to rebuild again.
