New Center!
Thinking of a 3 night vacation in Detroit, just to add it to my list :) Am I going to find it just as busy as Chicago is or should be? It seems while watching vids like this and others there is little to no foot traffic in the Detroit vids.
@travelmanMN You are right, Detroit has nowhere near the foot traffic as Chicago does. Summer months tend to be the busiest, particularly if there is an event going on.
Where's all the foot traffic?
Hey will , this was an awesome video , love it , thank you 😍
"tiny?"
I rnjoyed this very much. Thank yoou for posting it.
Most security guards are ridiculous and couldn’t be real cops.
We deal with em
So beautiful! 🎄🎄🎄
😄
I Guess the RenCen isn't so iconic and historical afterall.
I love the Riverwalk

The answer to this "problem" of what to do with the RenCen redevelopment, is expanding Hart Plaza by including ALL of Jefferson Avenue (from the convention center to what is currently I-375)... What has to be done is Jefferson Avenue has to be lowered and capped (like what will be done to I-75 in front of LCA Arena) making all of Jefferson subterranean putting it on the same level as the Detroit Windsor Tunnel Customs... In fact all of the Customs buildings, the Tunnel entry and exit and parking structures all need to be subterranean allowing for a HUGE AMOUNT OF NEW RIVERFRONT PARK SPACE AND ELIMINATING ALL OBSTACLES that currently prevent foot traffic from walking to and from the RenCen FROM ANY DIRECTION... And with Woodward not connecting to Jefferson anymore (because of the Spirit of Detroit Plaza) that stretch of Jefferson has become nothing more than an on/off ramp for the highway system anyways (M-10 Lodge, I-75, I-96, I-94 and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel entry/exit driveway).
you picked a gorgeous day :)

The Fords built Ford Field and restored the Michigan Train Depot. The Illich's built Little Caesars Arena and restored the Fox Theater. Canada is building the Gordie Howe International Bridge (tolls will only be collected on the Canadian side). So could someone please tell me what the top generals at GM have done for the city of Detroit other than be parasites that move from one host to another?

Hi , im just checking out your channel for the first time , and your videos are great , there not shaking 🫨 like we're in an earthquake . but I've got a question , it may sound stupid , but do you do all your videos on foot or some by vehicle . downtown and corktown and most of the the southwest is my old stomping grounds.. thanks for the memories 😍
Welcome!!
Maybe I'm imagining things, but I thought I heard something about reestablishing (this, the second) Chinatown? Hope so since this town needs as many facets of interest as possible. Too much dead space between things at this point in time, a very important point to consider BEFORE demolition.
I'm going to have to go down town, looks like Alot to do.
It's All Downtown!
Checkout the nearby Greektown area. Lots of delicious Restaurant food and entertaining people watching!
@@djsomali4414Maybe Midtown too.
How about 2nd and Hancock?
That area is coming soon!
It's interesting how the low camera angle makes the tiny rink look a lot larger.

Part of what John Portman's design philosophy was to isolate his projects and to create a unique "town" inside away from the hustle and bustle. This was the concept for Peachtree Center in downtown Atlanta way back in the 1960's.
There was zero hustle and bustle in Detroit when it opened. It was built to be a secure fortress because people were paranoid of crime back then.
The bad news is We have Jefferson Avenue
Dan can’t renovate a 1914 book tower and then demo a 1977 basically brand new towers. Makes zero sense. Repurpose for condos , grocery store, mall, Ripleys Aquarium like Shedd Aquarium on water in Chicago
Yes because there's demand for it to be a mall now when every store in there has failed since it opened as a mall. Grocery store? Aquarium? You've lost your mind man.
@ shedd aquarium draws crowds summer and winter. It’s a draw and having the aquarium in Auburn Hills doesn’t really make sense for tourists.
