      Thank Trey, you are playing some great tennis my dude. I would love to see serve and volley more, because your serve is that good my dude, plus I really think you would win more matches and it would make some big points a little more easier for you. I literally only missed 20 out of 115 and thank you for your comments, it motivates to try harder and practice harder. I am getting over a knee injury and I am literally hitting with a newly strung racquet. If you ever want to play I play at the all children’s park in port orange Florida. Then you can see if I am any good at tennis! Plus you do realize that the wind is blowing over 25mph in this video. I do realize that my strokes aren’t pretty but they are good enough for me to beat 4.0 players in singles and doubles my dude! Thank you for your comments and if you have any suggestions for me I would love to hear from you! Thank you

      Thank you, I think people over look return of serve errors! So if you can get more balls in play you have a better chance of winning some points! Some days guys and ladies are just on, I just finished playing doubles and the guy we were playing against hit every single line and I had to make some adjustments and hit ridiculous passing shots! It was tough and I am playing with big ma’am racquet, I got my Blade restrung today so I will be hitting off the ball machine today and get used to the Blade again my friend.

    Good to see you back out there bro. I’ve been playing a lot lately, been fighting a mild tennis elbow, it’s due to the one hander on the backhand so now I’m back to hitting a 2 hander till my elbow is right…folks our age do what we can 🎾

    • @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71
      @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 12 днів тому

      The one hander can put a lot of pressure on the elbow, and that is why I string my racquets at lower tension that seems to help me out with tennis elbow! That seems to work better for me and I will keep just trying to get used to working again and get my body conditioned to standing for 8 hours. Thanks for the suggestion and good comments my friend.

      Thank you Matthew, I played doubles yesterday against Coach Steve and Mr. Brick and they were both solid 4.5 doubles players and my buddy and I were playing really good and I literally hit every one of my first serves in the entire set, and I Coach Steve and Coach Brick were giving me compliments, and I told them that I had been practicing a few times a week on the serve and yesterday it really paid off. I was using the Blade because my elbow was starting to hurt from the light racquet so I was thinking about adding some lead tape on it, I also ordered some of the string you play with and I am going to string the head racquets with it. Thank you Matthew for your support and advice my friend. Hopefully one day we can hit some tennis balls and play some doubles. You would smash me in singles! Haha but doubles would be fun. I don't know if I missed something, but what happened with the Wilson Blades? Why are you using the Head Speed 105 now? That is a big difference in frames.

    • @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71
      @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 Місяць тому

      I broke a string on the blade and I got it restrung so I picked up a 3 Head Speed 105 to try them out, but I like the blade frame is a better frame just a smaller radius. I like the speed on some of the serves, and some topspin shots, but the blade is much better for volleying and hitting the ball a little bit harder on return of serves, and believe it not the blade is a great racquet for lobs, and drop shots. Since I started back playing tennis again after 25 year hiatus, I am trying to figure out what type of tennis player do want to be, and what type of player I am now, so I have been messing around with two different racquets I like a lot the Blade v6 98 and the Head Speed 105. Both racquets are very nice but as you said the frames are different. Hope all is well with you, thanks for the good comments and support my friend. It means a lot to me. Thank you

    I am a senior player who also has arm issues. Lately, I'm playing with the Head Gravity MP with auxetic technology (100 square inches) - it's very comfortable. I also have a Head Gravity Team (formerly the "S" - it's 104 square inches) - make sure you get one with the auxetic tech for comfort. Never play with pre-strung racquets - the string jobs are terrible. Replace the strings as soon as you buy a pre-strung racquet. I use Head Velocity 16 gauge string for comfort - a multifilament. Avoid polyester strings - they are hard on your elbow and do not last very long. I bought a Prince Legacy 120 due to injury and it's great on topspin ground strokes and comfortable despite its high stiffness due to the "O" port design. Babolats are very stiff and powerful racquets that are hard on your arm and wrist - I avoid them. They play great but my elbow and wrist hurt afterwards. RESTRING ALL YOUR RACQUETS. Never play with dead strings. Good luck to you.

    The serve is something I've only just started learning over the last 2-3 weeks, and I've been struggling mightily with it... especially finding the ideal contact point and pronating during the swing. Most of my shots sail long (well past the service line... sometimes even beyond the baseline if I really screw up!) and/or go too far off-center. I guess it's just one of those things you have to practice endlessly, and perhaps in isolation--dedicating entire days to just that technique--to really get the hang of. You're a heck of a lot better than I am, even at the age of 50+ and with all the health problems you've been battling!

    • @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71
      @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 Місяць тому

      Hi my friend try start your practice at the service line and just practice on put your serve in the box. Then practice trying to hit targets, a tennis can or cones. Try not looking towards the back of the fence and don’t focus looking at the service box so much, because you know where you want the ball to go in at, just focus on a smooth comfortable motion for yourself and practice tossing the ball in front and try to make sure if the ball bounces it will bounce in front of you and land on the court in front of you. Mini tennis helped me get control of the serve and it just relax and try to have fun with the serve and try different combinations to make it fun part of your game. Thank you for sharing your good comment. Thank you for your support my friend.

      Thank you Matthew you are the best my dude. I am working on my footwork and getting to the ball, Coach Steve hits the ball so flat it’s hard to judge the distance sometimes, Coach Steve is 75 years young, and moves incredible. Coach is a doubles specialist and is a handful, I played a practice set against him, and lost 6-1, I had to literally hit aces to win the game I won, but in the rally I was being run around and I was trying to hit ridiculous shots to win points and I am just not that consistent yet. I asked him about you serving out wide, I don’t know if you heard me talking about your doubles practice match, but anyway he said just move over a little bit more to the doubles alley but not as much as I serve, because at your level the net guy will have to be really good at the net to win the volley, I hope that helps you out my friend. How are you liking that Blade?

    • @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71
      @Shaunsweeney-Kubach71 Місяць тому

      I like the blade a lot, I just don’t like the cheesey strings that came with it. I think for the price it’s amazing and it’s firm, I am going to get it restrung 35 on mains with hyper G, and 31 on the crosses with genesis, I really like that set up on my profiles and the Babalot Pure drive 110. I also have to get used to hitting with a smaller frame at 98, I was hitting with the 110 and I literally got lazy because the racquet helped me when I was out of position. Thank you for your support and good questions my friend. I am really working hard for everyone and trying my best to get back up to a higher level of play. I am starting to really have just hitting again and I am not getting so angry with myself when I make a mistake. Thank you

    I noticed on your forehand: your shoulder rotation is good on the shots you mostly hit in, when they went flying…arm swing. I noticed that because I was doing the same thing a while back…us old timers have to fight our old tendencies….arm swings were fine when we were 18, now…not so much lol😂 Good to see you back working

      @@tridentstacking I know those arm shots work when you are a young person, I wish you guys could have seen me play before my surgeries, but I am going to work really hard for everyone who supporting me, I am getting used to hitting with this smaller frame and it’s a lot different than the 110 pure drive. Coach Steve is 75 years old my dude, and is still one of the top doubles players in Volusia County. He has been my friend for over 30 years and he seen me win tournaments before in the 90s, which I don’t care about tournaments, I just want to hit consistently and have fun, and I have to get better so I can hit fun shots again. I hit around the post the other day and that was so cool and I couldn’t believe I made that shot. I will work on what you are suggesting and I will work really hard to get better on that backhand side. I joke about myself and try to have fun with people I play tennis with, I love making people laugh and have fun. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement my friend.

    Good workout! It looks like you're at a 2.5 NTRP level right now but you might be able to play in 3.0 tournaments and win a game or two. Don't challenge the guy from Winners only Tennis because he'll kill you. In Florida NTRP tournaments, the players generally play down a level, so you'll see 4.5 players winning the 4.0 tournaments and 4.0 playing 3.5 tournaments. Keep working, it takes time to come back from a 27 year layoff. Your forehand looks like your best shot, you need lots of work on the backhand. good luck.

      Thank you my friend, I am having problems bending down to hit on my backhand side and I have been leaning stretches I am making so many mistakes from my knee injury and I don’t even think I am a 3.0 player yet! I have been winning in doubles at the 4.0 doubles because of my serve and my return of serve. I am going to be training for a while before I play Trey, because it’s for fun, and I think we can help others who struggle with diabetes and other health issues. I am going to train really hard to get back up to a decent level and I really enjoy the game of tennis my friend. Thank you for your support and encouragement and your honesty, especially your support my friend. Thank you

I am also getting ready to start a new job so I am working on my new schedule for tennis, YMCA training, and working so I am really excited about the future and I will be able to put together some really quality tennis videos and start traveling around to play other You tubers around Florida and I am still playing Trey, I am going to get moving better and really get my strokes cleaned up more! @@Macheeeeto thank you Matthew. I played singles today against my buddy who is a solid 4.0 player and he got 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. I was hitting pretty good and my return of serve was on I hit a few winners on breaks, I was serving really good, but I wasn’t really placing my serve the way I wanted to, when I sliced on the deuce side I got a few free points, but I wasn’t able to hit the out wide serve on the ad, so I started serving down the middle and I was missing those, so my dude got a lot of second serves on the ad side, I also made stupid shot selections and stupid unforced errors trying to hit out wide with the two hander and missing the lines by a few inches and hitting the tape. I didn’t even get angry with myself because I was working on moving, and bending on my shots. I was playing with the Wilson Profile 95 because that racquet has proper strings in it, I have it strung at 35 on mains with 16g Hyper G, and 31 on the crosses with Genesis and I love that set up my dude. The Wilson Blade v6 98 is a similar type racquet to my Profiles, but the string that came with is like I am hitting with shoe laces and the strings are complete trash my dude. I am buying a Gamma Stringer and I am going to string my own racquets like I used to do in the 80s and 90s. I will post a video on how to string the Blade, and I will be training really hard to try and get back up to higher level and play more consistently! I will be hitting with Coach Steve tomorrow and he is helping me train, and helping me get better, he is my old friend from the 80s so he knew me when I was a 4.5 player and played in doubles, and a 4.0 player in singles, right now I am moving as slow as tippy turtle 🐢! Hahe I look forward to seeing you play in your next tournament and good luck my friend. Thank you for your support and motivation my dude! You are a very nice person and I really appreciate it.
