11 years holy shit, got blessed with this eargasm!
I don't know much about the Clinton engines but it sounds great..😎👍🏼🔥🔥🔥⛽
Thank you! Restoring that engine was an awesome introduction to mini bikes for my son. Of course, he almost crashed it right after this video… doh!
absolutely beautful, took the advice and got the throttle conversion kit, kept everything stock, the throttle is 24v 500 w so it will actually provide some better performance for a longer run time !!!!! no more off and on with throttle, it was totally killing the battery.
I have a 24 vlt stock controller on a pocket mod daisy. When I try to hook up 18vlt 5amp milwaukee I get power light on but when I hit the throttle I just clicks. Any idea why? Is it because it's not 24vlt like the controller needs?
The controller might have a low voltage shutoff to protect the batteries from a full discharge. This might be what is happening.
Love the “FFUKEN BAKEEM’, let’s go!”
Those were some fun times!
where did you get all the parts from?
I did this a few years back, at that time the best prices were through eBay. That might have changed since then so I suggest using your favorite search engine.
@@adrenalinsurge what parts though?
I know this is an older video, but can you run through the ryobi battery setup? I'm looking to do the same thing. I converted my kids power wheels to ryobi but haven't tackled something like this before
Excellent work. What resistor value(s) did you use to limit the top speed? One in series or a divider?
I just placed the resistors in series, however I used two of them in parallel to lower the value. I do not recall the values off hand. I believe they were 1.5 or 1.2K. So 600-750ohm overall.
I just bought 5 of these frames for less than 150 because of this vid. My kids love them.
Awesome. It’s a great project to share with your kids.
What color rust oleum? My son wants a similar color on his pitbike
Tropical leaf. 👍
GREAT WORK!! What is the black floor board on the green one made of?
Thank you! The foot board is 1/4 plywood which was sprayed with rubberized bed liner. Ez Pz
Love them mate job well done👏
I run lipos in all of my PEV vehicles and looks like your running 2 in parallel to get 40v you said. What cell count lipo battery are you using that's 40v?
Yes, they are wired in parallel. I’m using Samsung replacement hoverboard packs. They are rated 36v at 4400mah, 10s2p.
@@adrenalinsurge I see so 40v fully charged each battery?
@@alexbekkala1718 correct.
Hey bro ! Thanks for the shout out And good job !
Anytime!
What size tires and rims?
Awesome video. Question did you make those motor mounts? I'm waiting for my brushless motor and am trying to get what I need to finish mine.
Thank you. I’m not sure if you are referring to the actual mount on the motor, or the adapter plate I fabricated. The motor can be purchased with the mounts already attached, this applies to both the brushed and brushless motors. The adapter plate was made form aluminum plate which I had lying around. If you can weld, I would suggest just forming a new plate from mild steel and welding it in. This will provide perfect alignment when all is said and done. Hth
Hey man great looking bikes. I'm at the end of a pocket mod upgrade now. I bought it for my daughter years ago and Pops was about to throw it out until we started stripping it down, over beers. I've put a lot of work into it but anyways, I'm waiting on my battery and trying to figure out my chain tensioner and then it'll be complete. Your green scooter appears to have a different tensioner versus stock. Where did you get that if you don't mind me asking?
Nice, hope it turns out like you wanted. The tensioner on both bikes are stock. Apparently they changed the design over the years.... good eye!
that's sweet :)
Thanks for this video how far can these last on a single charge I'm going to make one with my 7 year old I've got the original I want to upgrade like this speed isn't that important just longevity is any tips? love the thumb throttle much safer razor really should have gone down that route stock
I haven’t found the limit of the battery yet. We typically ride for 30 minutes at a time and he can go a few days before requiring a recharge. I would definitely recommend investing your budget into lipo battery packs. The hoverboard 36v packs were a great match and being that they are wired in parallel you can simply add another for extended range. If you are going to keep the original motor, make sure you add a resistor to the throttle reference signal. If you want to keep it around the stock speed with the 36v lipo battery, you will need a max voltage reading around 2.2v from the throttle
@@adrenalinsurge thanks for the fast reply much appreciated from the UK this video inspired me and my son to turn his pocket mod into something he could enjoy for a lot longer thanks to you

What battery do you have in there? How many watts?
For the big one
The batteries are my power tool batteries, which are 2 lipo Ryobi 18v 9Ah in series. I’m not sure what the watts would be, however they can handle a high discharge rate.
@@adrenalinsurge Thank you, shooting for a similar build as yours it looks awesome. How fast does that thing go with u on it?
@@beeazy9996 I did try to clock it but the cellular service is horrible by me. A conservative guess is low 20’s.

Hey thats my audi!
Awesome job man. I just picked up 2 dirt cheap and am looking to do exactly this. Do you have any more videos documenting the process??
@Sean Sorry man, what you see is what I have. If you have any questions during your build just lmk. It’s a fun project, gets used a lot.
@@adrenalinsurge what’s the range looking like?
That's what I'm looking to do right now
Why no Launch? Why no paddles?
@Joel JT Warawa. Was just looking for consistent passes that day.
@@adrenalinsurge Ahhhhhh. Well that does make sense. It would be no doubt your best time using paddles and launch
What grips are these?
Thinking of taking the front plate off on mine to allow for more room for my feet since I wiped out on my first time riding it yesterday afternoon. At 47 I'm rather tall and found it difficult to put my feet up without hitting the vertical fairing cover let alone trying to put my feet down quick enough.
@michael Zell, definitely strip it down... looks better (imo) and provides more room. I put foot pegs on the front axle of the other cycle for me to ride.
Wow very amazing build man! Thank you for the video!
Your welcome. One of these days I’ll strip down the grey one and refinish it.
Hey bro I have a pocket mod and I’m planning on modding mine and fire 🔥 video man!!
I'm probably gonna remove the front panel on mine to allow for more foot room.
Hey! I was curious, what would you have to do in order to get 1000 watts on the pocket mod?
Hey lil, there is more than one path to follow...and that will also depend on budget. At a minimum you will need a new controller, motor, throttle, battery and charger.
@Darren Jackson
Quick overview of the first pocket mod conversion, with suspension seat. ua-cam.com/video/nnQld81FKYE/v-deo.html.
@SupaAyshun
Are you gonna end up making a video of your scooter with the 1000W motor? I'm curious to see how you mounted everything
Hey SupaAyshun, you are the first to express any interest. The motor is a larger frame size which requires a 1/2” motor plate to be fabricated. I made one out of aluminum plate, and threaded it for a cleaner look. Next time I take it out I’ll grab some video... I also relocate the seat and gave it a suspension.
@@adrenalinsurge Oh okay cool thank you! I'm guessing you removed the battery tray above the motor to make room for it as well and running lithium ion batteries? I was also thinking about giving the seat some suspension for a better ride because of the higher speeds
@@SupaAyshun the battery tray can remain in place. I believe the motor size is 1020, and this one had a factory bracket. The motor plate raises the motor to clear the frame as its wider than the original. Yes it’s on lipo... actually using battery packs from my power tools. This was the first one I converted and I never really finished it... but it rides great.
@@adrenalinsurge How's the ride time on it? I'd assume not very long since those battery packs have low Ah and even if wired in series it's still not that much
@@SupaAyshunRide time is good, that is due to battery size and the free wheeling hub on these scooters. I’m using ryobi 9ah 18v (actual voltage is 20v) batteries in series. Home Depot/Ryobi had a great deal on these when they were introduced. I’ll take a vid this weekend for you.
Hello. I have a ‘16 with a similar setup minus the meth. I am trying to figure out the launch. I saw that you didn’t brake boost on your start. When I try to, the car boys like crazy. Is that too the reason why you did not? The times would be faster if we could. Also, does the apr tune adjust to race gas or e85? Thanks
I would try brake boosting as you said. I was at the limit of what my tires and track conditions would allow on that day. There is room for improvement on my 60ft though, as you pointed out. The APR tune doesn't self adjust to fuel, you need to swap in the appropriate tune (can be done on the fly in a minute). The ECU on its own (Stock or tuned) will adjust up to about 30% ethanol if your fueling system is in good shape. In contrast, DS1 tune can monitor and self adjust to ethanol content with the addition of an ethanol sensor.
@Hips King I’m still on the original clutch packs with 31k and so far so good. This is with the APR tcu tune. There are quite a few guys making more torque/and HP than me who are also on the stock clutches, however they are using a different TCU tune.
Please share your wheels and tires set up specs.
At the time I was running TSW wheels (20x9) with 265/35/20 Michelin PSS.
What are the mods ?

Clean build, S7 is moving!
I’m picking up a 2013 with rs7 turbos and Unitronic stage 3. How much of a difference did the meth make for you and how often do you need to refill the tank? Going to be daily driving it
No difference at the track with meth for me as I was already at the max timing/max psi my tune allowed. On the street I use the 100 octane tune for daily with the meth. My tank last me a year, I drive pretty easy 99% of the time, ymmv. Good Luck.
@@adrenalinsurge thanks. Odd question but how is the fuel mileage? If your just taking it easy around town and on highway
@@andyghag9502 I’ve never calculated my mileage between fill ups, so take this with a grain of salt... going by the onboard computer I can maintain 30mpg on the highway. Around town high teens is typical. Compared to other cars I’ve owned, gas mileage seems quite good to me.
I was wondering if you could tell me the order of the rear wheel assembly? And if there are spacers how long they are?
I do not recall there being any spacers if you are simply removing the rear wheel. The rear bearings where in good condition, so I did not remove them or remove the axle from the hub. HTH
I modified one just like this and since it was given to me i didnt want to spend money on it so when my throttle went out i found a sewing machine foot pedal lol it worked just had to modify it a bit too
VERY Impressed Sir
10.5s all day...........wicked for sure
How much horse power ?
I don’t know, at the time I was only interested in chasing the record and didn’t care about dyno runs. This was on the pump gas file, while using 100 octane. Race fuel file went slightly faster, 10.50 @ 132.5.
@@adrenalinsurge did you changed the diff ratios?
@@luisetorres5760 No sir, we added a Quaife differential but kept the stock gears.
