We had the wonderful opportunity to arrange and perform this beautiful piece for our Gershwin Tribute program in Austria and Belgium. Stephen Sondheim was a big fan of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, and so we thought it only fitting to include this beautiful song in the program. After corresponding with Eddie Daniels himself, and he gave us his blessing to not only arrange and perform it, but send it out as our Holiday card for this year.
We wish you lots of happiness, love and health for the new year!
Much love,
Nathalie

Inquietante, sinistra, angosciante. Povero Bach...
heaven
Thank you for your lovely comment! 🙏😊
Bravo! ❤
fantastic!
Glenn Gould is my Mohammed (there is no bach but Bach, and GG is his Prophet); but this lady is probably my most favourite of all the living players
@@jakubkalensky9329 Wow, thank you for your kind words!

Thank very much, ive been playing piano for 4 years now and i never felt so relax while playing music, thank very much❤
@@LifeEmtyAndSad that's absolutely wonderful to read! Enjoy playing!
😳 Huge but soft chords. I love your cantabile
@@89Klavierspieler thank you so much! Very glad you enjoy it 😊
Bach was not a sewing machine; why are you playing this like he was? Speed kills, and your tempo has ripped the life out of this work. Shameful, and your teacher should have intervened.
cool
I love Johann Sebastian Bach 😊
Ty !
ORRIBLE have lose a train ??? listen Glenn Gould ..Nobody in the world will ever overcome .
Good tip, thank you! 🎉
@@BoonBreyne glad it's helpful 🤗
Is mooi!❤
🙏😊
Perhaps this is the best performance of BWV 847. And, who cares about the posture, she sounds exactly Bach. The best interpretation.
Also I went to your concert! It was great!
@@Tiso_376 thank you so much for coming!! 🤩

@@NMusician You're welcome. I have always loved this song, but I've never heard a vocal version before. Do you know who wrote those lyrics? I can't seem to find a source for credits other than Tom Harrell as the composer of the song. Because of you, I have a deeper appreciation of this great tune. Thanks!
@@raypfeiffer8525 this is an excellent question! I learned the lyrics and I cannot find the original words anymore, so I only remember it by ear. My suspicion however, is that Becca Stevens wrote them, but I am uncertain, which is why I did not add it to the title.
@@NMusician Ok, thanks. I'll keep searching to see if I can confirm that. Wonderful.
I found this also on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/RtrAVbkCrUI/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared. In the credits for this performance, they indicate the lyrics were written by the vocalist, Kristin Berardi. Not sure if that's definitive, but it does appear we've located the source. Interestingly, I found multiple sets of lyrics to this tune written by different people, one in Spanish, one in Portuguese, and some others in English. But the ones you sang I like the best.
Awesome piano and player

Gosto muito da apresentação dessa dupla.
I prefer this rendition as I believe the little trill at :34 should be minimalist, sluggish and languid, not speedy.
@@fslubin glad to read you enjoy the recording! 😊
@@NMusician I wonder if you'd like Percy Grainger's Sussex Mummers Christmas Carol. Quite difficult, as the melody is often found in the middle or lower voice of a chord and needs to be smoothly accentuated.
Impressive playing and good rhythm!
