Boss knitting and crochet teacher, join me on Wednesdays for my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects and news of my classes

Decoding a pattern and looking forward to November
Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet patterns. This week I've been completing the granny squares on my woodland blanket pattern. One of the squares requires using three colours in each round so I have been using colour and charts to make the pattern easier to understand. It was still complicated :) Don't be afraid to write on your pattern or rewrite it to make things easier to understand.
We are on week three of the learn to crochet courses. I was impressed with last weeks work. Lots of great homework. This week we are taking treble crochet and working in the round.
In November I'm running a Next Steps in Crochet Course to build on the Learn to Crochet. I hope to run an afternoon and evening class depending on demand.
I'm also running a Tunisian crochet workshop on 9 November. Should be great fun. £35 for four hours of tuition, free Tunisian crochet needle and refreshments.
That's all for now, see you next week.

Trying not to let IT get to me Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects. This week I have been battling with IT issue but to distract me I've been preparing for Week Two of Learn to Crochet Classes. Last week my students learned how to hold the yarn, chain, slip stich and count stitches. Hopefully they will have done some homework to practice these by making this cute ...

Finishing off a sock and tackling something a bit more challenging Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects. This week I've been finishing off a pair of socks partly knitted by a friend, who sadly died a couple of years ago. Her daughter asked if I'd like to do this and I am glad to. Many of us may pick a half finished projects either one we've had in the naughty corne...

Local hand dyed wool and a bit of a mistake Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects. At the pop up yarn show in Port Sunlight and made some purchases. Some lovely 4ply yarn from a farm in North Yorkshire to make some fairisle gloves, and two lots of sock yarn from local dyers, Under the English Sky and Art Yarn. Great to have such local talented people. I'm making goo...

Fields of gold and oodles of yarn Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects. On Saturday I went to the pop up yarn show at Port Sunlight and bought some lovely local yarn. I'll show these to you next week. Last week I finished my crochet blanket Fields of Gold, designed by Janie Crow. I loved doing this and is easier than it looks. The most complicated stitch is probabl...

Wool in the woods Welcome to my weekly rambling on my knitting and crochet projects. This week I'm making great progess on my jumper using Wensleydale Longwool, a lovely yorkshire yarn. I bought it at Wonder Wool Wales in April. The pattern suggest you adapt the length to suit your body. I do this by measuring a garment that I think fits me well and use that measurement. It is much easer than t...

Making it up as you go along or stick to the pattern, which one are you? Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects. This week I've been busy knitting socks for a birthay present. The lace pattern was nice but I wasn't making much progress. As I'm knitting to a deadline I've decide to do a simpler pattern. I know many of you like to work to a pattern but there are times ...

Your "Lovely fair isle sweater which I knit earlier this year out of bits and bobs" - we need to know more, it is stunning. Pattern?
I just stumbled across your Wednesday WIP video today and it made me smile. I love how it is something so simple that shows the pure joy of creation! I am a big fan of crochet and have been crocheting for about 2 years now. I would love to pick up knitting too but feel as if I'm too stuck in my crochet ways... I would have loved to join you on the 12th of October to learn to knit however, I will be starting back at university around that time. Have you got any insider tips or tricks to get me started? I will defiantly be coming back next Wednesday for another episode of Wednesday WIP! All the best, Olivia 💗
@LivEatwell I'm glad you liked my Wednesday WIP. To get your knitting major back choose some really nice yarn for a small project like a hat. Don't make it too complicated. Variegated yarn is fab as it makes your knitting look impressive! Have a good time at university. I knitted a lot when I was at uni. Great for reducing pre exam nerves.
@@WoollyWoodcock thank you so much!!
beautiful work 💖💖💖
Hi from Shetland. My name is Kate and I have just found you. I have subscribed and liked. I'll have to play catch-up with your videos. Especially enjoyed your nice mellow voice.
@the3milestitcher I love Shetland. It's been too long since my last visit. So much wildlife and yarn 😎
@@WoollyWoodcock Ah you've seen our beautiful islands!! You could maybe make it up for Wool Week one year. You'd have to book up way in advance though because we get folks from all over the world for that. Thank you for replying to my message.
Your channel popped up for me, and I normally would not even care about knitting, but, you hooked me! You are a lovely person, and very inspiring! I would never do this walk either, until now.... maybe I would..... I totally appreciate having some new ideas to think about. I am 69, and retired almost 2 years ago now, and have been totally happy not doing much of anything..... and I had no idea that I might need something different in my life! I subscribed and hope to see more of your wonderful videos!
@AhJodie Thanks for the follow and your kind comments. So glad you enjoy the videos. It's great to get feedback. Cheers Harriet
Thank you for the interesting information! Your outside area looks lovely!
Hello. I love how the puppy blanket is turning out! The puppy paws are so cute! You have to teach us how to make these cute paws! Thank you for showing us you're amazing projects! I can't wait to see more! - Nancy❤
Your makes are so pretty!
That's amazing 😍😍😍 you've inspired me to give it a go 😇 Thank You 😘👑
hello! nice work, keep going. i am commenting from turkey🇹🇷🩷🧶
It is beautiful! I am working on the pattern now, but I can't seem to get it started correctly. It looks nothing like the instructions. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was looking for a video of someone starting it. You should be very proud of yours.
Hello, like your works. I also have got only one sock now... 😂
Hi lovely to see you x I’ve also got a lot of single socks x
Lovely to see you x
hello, i need tutorial 🙏🏻 If you can show your knitting models in detail and slowly, I think your videos will be very useful, thank you.
Hi I'm a new sock knitter and noticed when you were talking about your helical socks that the stitches were just on 2 dpns. Do you use 3 dpns instead of using 4? I'm using a 9inch short circular needle which seems to be working. Thank you.
Hi lovely to meet you x
Hi great video love Miss Marple just watched The Moving Finger this afternoon
Your stashbusting project is a work of art. Oh my goodness, mine never end up like that! Best wishes from a Canadian knitting podcaster!
Bonita ❤

Tripod. 😅
That cardigan is just so beautiful!! The sock yarn looks wonderful ❤ I agree the waistcoat doesn't suit him lol
The jumper you are knitting is so very beautiful and the buttons you have just bought are stunning. I hope you will share it finished on here, I would love to see it all together x
Love this
Very pretty pattern! Scared the life out of me when the wind stole the tripod for a moment there lol, can't wait to see this cardi finished now x
Gorgeous!
Is it possible to share a link to the Jane Crowfoot granny square scarf ? Looks really pretty.. Love the colours.
I'll send it over

Gorgeous 😍
How gorgeous is this blanket!!!?? STUNNING! I just learned how to make this style of square after a few attempts! I absolutely respect your dedication to not only crochet the squares but also combine so many different coloured yarns and stitch them all in such a beautiful pattern blanket! This is a treasure!
This is beautiful 😍
Tis back to front Harriet!
Teach us please! 😍❤️
HappyBerry crochet from 6 years ago …she has a great tutorial on UA-cam! Good luck…. You will LOVE the challenge!
Gorgeous! 😍❤️💕
Do you offer a tutorial?
Beautiful job on this. I just tried starting this tonight and I am struggling. I am uncertain I’m joining colors right and I have too big a hole in the middle. I’d love to see you make 1 square. I have been crocheting only about 1 year. I see lots of spiral granny square tutorials but none seem to be just like this pattern.
Wow!! So beautiful! I love the colors!
hello please kindly take out the video camera when you begin your sewing project please ok would like to watch please kindly reply back ok?thank you very much
