@@BrianMcNeill25 I like the 125. Thanks buddy! I go in phases. Old bikes, 125, 250 smoker, 450. But to be honest, I feel safer on the 125 than I do on the 450. I'm getting old and sometimes just have trouble shutting the throttle off going into a turn. Feels like the throttle hanging up on a carb. It's just scary cause a 450 goes over 60 mph in 3rd. They go from 15 to 60 in 3rd so easy. The 125, not so much as it doesn't pick up on low end and on top end your about pinned so if you hit a bump wrong it doesn't pick up 10mph just like that The 450? I'll pick my battles on it. You won't see me practicing on it but once in a great while in my backyard track. And that's a maybe.......

@@mxengineer1 2024. GET ignition and a VHM head ( I think thats it, from Europe) and a special carb kit from Europe. I love it and thanks! The 125 is just safer to go WFO than my 450. A buddy I know just broke his hand today on his new 450 just practicing.

@@greg042 YZ125? So the GET ignition and head combo liven up the power? More broad or simply more power everywhere? Does it now need race gas only?

@@mxengineer1 more power everywhere. Cleaner running too. I use race gas anyhow. I get it fairly cheap. Sunoco or Cam 2 leaded 110. About 50 or 60 bucks a pail, depending on if it's Cam2 or Sunoco.

@CrashEightyTwo it's in my description. 2nd moto of 125 over 40 pro they called it. Very late in the day,and most blew off the second moto. Just out to collect the $$. 2 laps

@BrianMcNeill25 Yeah, it was a one time event. Lots of riders. All the old guys from GA and AL showed up. Billy Liles and I battled in the second moto till we kinds slid into each other and took ourselves out in a 2 lap race. Finished 3rd. It was so much fun. Lots of old national numbered guys to race. I wasn't even on the same lap as them 40 years ago. Now we are all peers! I had fun. Triumphs new 450 was there also. I should had a 450 but I still made that thing work. Took a lot of jetting.

Thanks. Met Laundry and Hege. I'll have to venture more from my own backyard. We all need to get together, but over the next 6 weeks, I'm going to be racing a lot up in PA, MD, WV and Ohio. Vintage mostly except for Budds on one of my new yamadogs.

Yes I rebuilt it for some AHRMA racing this summer. Parts are available via EBAY used marketplace mostly!! New input shaft and clutch basket.

Not much for a front brake. Gotta get more power. Nothing like a modern YZ.

Brian, this is a 1998 kx 125. Next Generation 125 experts. All ages, I'm just old tho! From last year. I forgot to put it up. I think one 250 beat me that day, but in a different class.

Not really. Pretty much the same. It comes worse from the factory, but an ignition head and a carb kit from Europe solved it all. I liked my old 125, but my wife who is 64 took it as her personal bike so I got a new one!! It had a pipe porting , carb and ignition so it was pretty dang good too!

@KennyHollingsworth Thank you!! I just couldn't beat him that day on his 2021 yz250. Oh well, I do it for fun at 61( in this video) and ride 1990's well preped bikes.

Wendel. He won open Expert up to 99 any age. Luckily ,I didn't have him in my group of over 50 expert up to 99 or 80 to 89 open Expert. I went really to ride the over 60 class on Sunday, but had a mishap I had a small problem and fell the first lap of my first race and my wrist is sore. I drove 13 hours home. No wins this year
