Thanks man 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Impressive to say the least.
Yes, indeed.

I DID IT!!! In like 5 tries! Once I understood that the attack must be cancelled by the explosion, It was *easy!* 😊 But I "messed up" and threw a punch instead, but it WORKED! (September 24. -24) Good stuff! 👍🏼👍🏼😮
does it still work?
@@tsunamimercury5455 iidk. there was a patch, wasn't there? Maybe it doesn't, and they fixed it, but maybe it works. :p
@@tsunamimercury5455 Or was there? Are we still on 1.10? If so, it works.
@@MicroMidas not sure but didn’t work for me for a solid hour
@@tsunamimercury5455 I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe try searching for "leyndell elevator skip 1.15"?
Jajaja😂
I just played the good the bad and the ugly theme in my head.
Faith is so cool
Weapon cooldowns dont even take that long
Verner is 100% correct and I will forever hate that change. I loved Mass Effect 1 but 2 switching to the dumb ammo system pissed me off so much. How do you go from infinite ammo to finite ammo?
Spectre weapons + 2 maxed out cooling coils = infinite ammo with no overheat It was a downgrade to switch to a conventional ammo system and the "lore" was a backend justification.
Its so stupid too. Like why would go from infinite ammo to ammo? Like ya the guns over heated but only if you fired it to much in few seconds. And it cools down in literally a couple of seconds basically the time to reload.
I disliked the swap from the old system to thermal clips myself. But then again I imagine the Mattock which is my favorite gun in the franchise would have been a nightmare to use with the inbuilt cooling.
Think I would've been perfectly fine with this change if the clips weren't *required*. Adding the clips as an optional and expendable way to instantly reload a weapon system instead of waiting for cooldown while still having the option to wait adds complexity and forms an interesting system. And if they really want to encourage clips just make the conventional cooldowns way longer. Effectively infinite ammo is a logical and interesting mechanic that adheres and contributes to the high sci-fi setting of Mass Effect. Verner's right, it really is a step back both mechanically and in world building.
Mass Effect 1 has one of the ONLY futuristic ammo design for future backgrounds. Look at Starfield, halo, no man’s sky and whatever sci-fi games we got out there. It’s funny that at out of all these big-shot developer teams, none of them had the guts to go out of the box and think like a designer from future. They can’t brainstorm for shit. I often bragged about ME1’s weapon design with my friends how innovative it was. To bad they didn’t continue it.
this exchange made me wonder how many soldiers in the war died because they ran out of ammo
I wish they would have just retconned the practically unlimited ammo thing instead of feeding us this BS
Iirc, a codex entry says that as shield technology improved, battle telemetry showed that guns needed to fire more powerful and more frequent rounds in order to overcome the shields. Thus, thermal clip technology became a necessity in order to avoid long, drawn out fights of attrition.
no its because clueless devs wanted it to feel more like call of duty...
"Shepard makes excuses for a terrible design decision that no one liked."
I'm with Verner on this one. Having infinite "ammo" is preferable even if the con is you have to wait for it to cooldown after firing too long. But even that can be alleviated by pacing your shots.
So they just put the devs arguing over this in the script
I like how this still doesn't address where the infinite ammo comes from
if memory serves they were using very small amounts of mass to be projected by the original gun designs
And thats why i used Particle Rifle.
You cannot complete Thiollier and Ansbach's questlines if you do not summon them for this fight. Their armor and weapons are unobtainable if they are at least not summoned.
"Fine, sure. You can still wait for your gun to cool down on it's own, though, right?" "No."
"It's not ammunition." Sorry but for all intents and purposes, it is.
"Thermal clips" were one of the dumbest ideas they implemented. They took one of the unique aspects of the series and threw it out.
It's at least much better than the explanation given in Elder Scrolls for why there's no more levitation magic. Like, oh it got banned. Can't do that, it's illegal now. Here I was gonna float up to the Counts bedroom and snipe him with my bow but that's apparently illegal now so we have to assassinate him a different way.
Technically they still have ammunition as solid blocks of material. The gun fires by shaving off a small portion of material from this block and accelerating it as the projectile. At least that is what I remember from the lore.
When I hear him explaining what a thermal clip is I think of ICEnJAM lolllllll
This is terrible and forced dialogue. ugh. i hate this.
Except he was right.
For those wondering why the switch happened at the first place, here's some lore: "...matnematicaly reviewing their combat logs, the geth found that in an age of kinetic barriers, most firefights were won by the side who could put the most rounds down-range the fastest. But combatants were forced to deliberately shoot slower to manage waste heat, or pause as their weapons vented. To eliminate this inefficiency, the geth adopted detachable heat sinks known as thermal clips. While organic arms manufacturers were initially doubtful this would produce a net gain, a well-trained soldier can eject and swap thermal clips in under a second. Faced with superior enemy firepower, organic armies soon followed the geth's lead, and today's battlefields are littered with these thermal clips..." (Mass Effect 2 > Codex > Secondary > Weapons, Armor, and Equipment > Small Arms) I am not a weapon expert at all, but it makes sense to me. Just like almost anything, weapons constantly evolve due to the shifts in tactics, environment, and technologies used on the battlefield. There is no "perfect gun" because this just means a "universal gun" for all scenarios (which is a dangerous practice), whereas the diversification of the specialized weapon is the real key to victories in broad-scale wars (the answer to why world military has this crazy amount of different guns which they never stop to add). Surely, people wouldn't just throw a recently outdated technology away if the contrast of the efficiency is small enough at least for some tasks, hence, there are still some "old-infinite" rifles that can be found in the ME2&ME3 universe, used, for instance, to shoot another varen on a distant farmworld... However, they have become undemanded by the serious armed groups due to the recent geth's critical discovery in the military statistics. The galaxy had 2 years to switch to the new weapon innovational technology, whereas the commonly large military production capabilities of the many in-space factions made this process even faster. (Anyway, I still can see why this is a lame decision from the gameplay perspective.)
Where is the place 😂
To be honest, the weapon in ME1 is similar to Prothean (ME3 DLC) but a weaker version. It's still unbelievable they choose thermal clips rather than keep researching cooldown method. Of course game-wise, dev wanted to "reload" in a fps game.
Honestly the use of thermal clips is one of the more reasonable changes. And the in game lore makes sense. The only part that doesn't is that the clips dont cool down. They simply get discarded.
Playing ME2 on insanity, even the grunt enemies take entire thermal clips. Ammunition is a legitimate issue xD
Shepard sounds like he's trying to defend somebody else's stupid decision to a Congressional subcommittee.
What he was looking for is DRG Gunner's new Overclock 🤣🎵
I would have loved they kept both. Powerfull but limited "ammunitions" vs cooldown but less damage.
You could always tell that the clips thing was just a way for the developer to retcon ammo back into the Mass Effect universe. This guy is right and the economic/Logistical/Strategic requirements to keep all of your forces supplied and viable when they essentially had infinite ammo in the field. I feel like that major benefit overrides any kind of minor tactical advantage that might've been gained. Especially now that I run out of ammo often when they introduced the clips.
I'm with Conrad on this one tbh
Still working on 4 August of 2024
I think they implemented it because it made making challenging fights harder for the developers, same reason they made shields weaker and health lower, original mass effect soldier was essentially immortal because you could have immunity up near all the time and with 2 frictionless material 3s you could fire infinitely, they chose the easiest option which yes is lasy and a skill issue on their part but we got vanguard out of it so I'm not really complaining
