Is it a turbo
No but still fun tho been looking at The Pro R’s lately
sheesh your bike needs some tuning brother
lol yeah that’s actually how it came off the showroom floor put a JD jet kit in there shortly after that and tuned it it’s mint now but I agree it ran like 💩
Has anything ever happend?
Or is crank still good ?
@@Seth-s5n Nope not at all still riding on the stock motor I haven’t touched it other then a jet kit but I do still keep a close eye on it matter-of-fact I’ll be loading up going for a full ride days Saturday
@ how many hours and habe you done a top end?
I haven’t opened up that bike at all . I’m not a the shop at the moment but when I get back in an hour or so I’ll let you know the hrs
It’s has 34.3 hrs on the original top end and no piston scoring yet I also mix and run my bikes a little rich
dude you're asking for death (for people who don't know, when you ride a three-wheeled or a two-wheeled vehicle, if you see a police, you tap your helmet to alarm the people behind you to slow down or to be careful)

480 main 35 pilot Blue jd needle on clip 2 1/5 What’s a good starting point for the air screw? Cheers
I started with 1 3/4 and ended up a hair over that
@@groundzero-979 thanks will give that a go
Feel free to let me know how things work out. I noticed that your jets are kind of rich you must be at a higher elevation.
Will do ! I’m at sea level , I put a HGS silencer on it and it didn’t like the 32.5 pilot, had a lean bog so I used a 35 ran better but still had splutter 1/2 throttle , could probably drop the main to a 470 I’ve done the jet block gasket
@robhayter484 oh okay that make sense let me know how things go
What poundage of winch was it that you installed, was it a 4500 or a 6000 lb pool, I went to a 6,000 lb instead of a 4500, does 6000 lb gave me a 2 horse power compared to a one horsepower and twice the revolution
I did the 4500lb I have a smaller sxs so it’s more then I need, did you have any fitment issues? I know the 6000lb is wider and a tad rounder
Were you able to fix this without taking more stuff off than what’s shown in the video? I would really appreciate the info. If not much else needs to come off then I can definitely just do this myself. What was the most difficult step?
Mainly, I just removed the upper And lower fairing, battery and battery box it was a pain in @$$ but you can mainly get the most of the clamps just removing that
And I’d say the hardest part was not dropping the screws to the upper fairing up by the cluster
@@groundzero-979 I’ll keep my handy dandy magnet close by haha. I’ve taken the fairings off to investigate and it wasn’t too bad. Sounds like I may be able to tackle this on my own. Thank you so much for all your help! It is very much appreciated. What issues did the battery box give you? Also, was the OEM clamp difficult to get off?
@revo-fpv2180 glad I could help the battery pops right off no issues and the clamp can be popped off with a long skinny straight screwdriver you’ll see they are junk
@@groundzero-979 hey, last question.. Did replacing the clamp only fix your issue or did you have to replace the hose as well? Do you know what size hose it is? Or do I need to get it from Ducati?
I am getting ready to install a Badlands 5000lbs winch on my 2024 Polaris RZR Trail-S 1000. So this has helped me figure out how to get access to the back of the switch panel and a good location for the winch control power box.
im glad I could help let me know how the install goes for you
Check out the horsepower of the motor and the revolutions, I went with a 6000 winch and that gave me a 2 horsepower motor which is twice of the 4500 lb plus you gave me twice the revolution, and it only cost me $50 more no
This kit saved my 125sx too. The bog from factory was brutal.
Oh yeah Like nails on a chalkboard I still wanna upgrade to a Lectron carb but this was a really good fix till then
🧡 🖤
This was a lot better than the super atv video!

@@groundzero-979thank you
Thanks, very helpful

This is called "keeping it simple". I ordered one for a YZ250
I have a 2018 ktm 125sx and it runs great on the power band and starting off and idleing but there’s a point if you hold the throttle right to where the power band would want to start kicking in it seems like it wants to run all stuttery
That’s pretty much what I had going on right before the powers and it would just be boggy and flat it was so annoying
That kit really did clean up a good bit of it there is still a little bit but no where near what it was
@@groundzero-979 thank you I just ordered the same kit
@@wyattstewart742 once you get it in let me know the out come so far it’s been mixed results

How tall are you

That’s great to hear I’m glade I could help
Sweet!!
I found the kit on the jd website but it says it’s only for 17-21. What year is your bike? I’ve been dealing with the same bogg you’ve been dealing with sense I bought mine from the dealer. Mines a 2022 150sx
It’s a 2022 125sx but the same kit will fit your 150sx Here’s the link I got the kit from it shipped quick www.ebay.com/itm/144680231799?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=NVnBkoMXRCC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=3z7b-0-oQv2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@groundzero-979 right on man thanks for the quick response I’m going to order it & im sure it’ll clear that bogg right away probably going to buy some vforce reeds while I’m messing around with it too.
@Rooster_2007CTSV hell yeah! let me know the out come. I was able to fix 99% of the bog on mine I’m hoping to upgrade to a lectern carb in the future
On one of these other comments I seen you said go up a size with the jet depending on the pipe, I got a fmf factory fatty with a shorty. The jd kit came in today. Also ordered the vforce v4r reeds I’m just waiting on the reeds to get here to put the jet kit in. What would you suggest for the main jet..
@Rooster_2007CTSV yeah your going to have to go up in jet size’s and probably mess with the air/fuel a little bit the needle should be whatever the paper says shim or no shim
isnt that the same jet kit as for husqvarna tc 125 2022?
also i have the same problem zero mid power,i mean not zero but shity, when i fully drive it its okay but when i let it stand for 3 minutes turned on and give it a throtle needs like 5 sec to come to hisghest rpm it just boging for like 3 sec
I’m not sure if it will fit the Husky on the packaging it says so 125SX 150SX an 125xc I’m not sure if it will cross over
@@Juicy_rpm that’s pretty much the same issues I was having a top was perfect bottom was good but the mid was boggy and sucked I did gain a good bit of power after re-jetting it money well spent.
At some point I’ll be switching to a lectron carb thay are just a bit pricey but I know they are worth it
As long as your carb is mukini tmx38 it’s the same
Pilot jet always its always a struggle to get it out and put it back in
Yeah i hate the angle of it but I didn’t want to take the bowl off lol
@groundzero-979 how's the new setting doing does it still bog
It’s actually pretty good it has a tiny tiny bit when woods riding but it’s barely noticeable I happy with it
@@groundzero-979 nice because mine too is boggy since factory
Has it been re jetted? That kit was money well spent
Love working on these old Hondas. Have done a dozen or so thru the years. I am doing a candy blue green right now. What paint did you use? Do you know the code? Looks awesome…great job!
Hell yeah! I’m really excited i haven’t rode this bike since I was 13 so definitely looking forward to Getting it finished. I’m at work at the moment but when I get home I’ll get you the paint info and also the information on the kit that trail buddy inc recommend
The paint I used was a single stage and the trail buddy one is a 3 step
This is the link trail buddy inc gave me for the paint they use vmrpaints.com And we used rival VR28 CAE315 blue/green
Mine don’t even have the dif lock it’s just always locked
Out of curiosity which model do you have?
What does a bunch of metal shavings on the magnetic drain bolt mean
Is it fine shavings or flakes and are they gold or sliver and is there a lot on it reason I ask is you’ll always have some clutch disc material
@@groundzero-979 yeah there was quite a bit and they were kinda sharp and the bike has over 50 hrs and I don’t think the oil had been changed as frequently as it should have from the previous owner
With out actually seeing it it’s hard to tell you but if it was all fine shavings and no flake it’s more then likely clutch material. Never hurts to open it up and mic the disc’s to see where they are at or just throw new ones in
If it has 50 original hours on it I’d be interested to find out what the compression levels are, and stick a camera in the cylinder to take a peek at the jug
Curious did they ask you for title or registration? I’ve heard they were pretty strict there.
Oh yeah they are really adamant on having the green registry sticker or title and putting your vin and end license in their computers
@@groundzero-979 wow that’s crazy. I guess that’s what happens with a government run park. Self serving a bit.
@@FSUbk yeah it’s a bit of a hassle but ya gotta give it to them for keeping it on the up and up
3:05 Excavator? haha. Sorry to laugh at you for not knowing that is a skid loader and a tractor. :P I agree though. That skid loader is workhorse! Thank you for the video. This place is 45mins from my house I think I will be visiting it in the future!
Do you have a link to the one you bought ?
I just went to snag the link and it’s no longer in stock if you’d like, I can find it from somewhere else?
My ktm 125 sx 2022 is boggy too i just bought a lectron carburetor hopefully that fixes the bog
Those carburetors are really nice just out of my price range right now
Orange machine🍊
I got a 22 150sx and I have a mid range sputter I messed around with the needle to no avail I also replaced the jet block gasket with the new jd one. I’m thinking my air screw is out of adjustment do you know what it could be?
Your most likely having the same issue I was dealing with no matter what I tried with the stock jet kit I literally had zero mid range and was boggy as hell. low speed and power band were 100% but no mid at all. the first video clip was the first ride out the dealership sounded awful. I will also say I gained a bit of power using that jd kit your stock 150 carb settings are needle 3rd clip from the top idle jet 37.5 main jet 540 idle air screw is 2 full turns out from a light seat the jd kit recommendations aren't even any where close to these settings but I have to ask have you had the bike since day one? is the bike stock? do you have any upgrades like pipe/silencer, reeds or run larger holes in the air box cover or any engine work? run race gas? have the power valves been messed with?
So basically I bought my bike used so I bought it with a full fmf exhaust system (pipe and silencer) and people say ur supposed to rejet the carb so when I took my carb off to try to see the sputter it had a 480 main jet one step richer from stock (470) and my pilot was a stock 30 and my needle was on the 2nd from the top I moved that needle down to the third position and it ran even worse. And my bike was originally a 125 but the kid raced so he bored it to a 150 to make it faster and I have stock air box /cover and reeds. I don’t run race gas and I have no clue if the power valve was ever messed with. The only thing I haven’t check is reeds power valve and air screw. And also mine will sputter mid range and clear up at wide open throttle or al least close. Only does it when you in a lower gear when you crack the throttle.
Oh man that’s a lot going on the Settings that I listed before were straight from the manual for the stock 150. Honestly, I’ve never had this much issues with tuning a carb on all my KXs back in the day I used to only go up 2 jet sizes on the main jet and it was fine, unless I had head shaving, porting and polishing done pretty much raising the compression but I had an engine builder doing that stuff for me. if you don’t mind me asking what state you’re in so I can get an idea of your altitude I can list the JD jet settings and at least try to get you some kind of a starting point but will tell you 100% that the needles that came in at JD kit were completely tapered different than the stock ones
So I live in Connecticut so I’m not really sure what the altitude and sea level would be but does the air screw on these mukuni carbs affect performance when riding because the bike runs rich it smokes a lot when it sputters and once it clears up it’s fine. The elevation for Connecticut is 500ft or 150m
@@Roccodimauro3116 the JD paper is calling for a 32.5 pilot jet the blue needle 2nd clip from the top 460 main jet would go up a size on the count of the pipe idle/air screw 1 3/4 turn from light seat I feel like that's good starting point only down side is that needle dose it ever smoke heavy all the time? do you ever see loss of oil? just wondering cause crank seals can also make the engine run lean it was just a thought
