As technology moves on...overflowing with cost-cutting, corner-cutting accountants, the irreplaceable gets shoved into a museum...along with vinyl records, wing-windows, and seat belt-free autos...sadly!
As an 11 year old they had 2 Martin Mars fighting a forest fire at Canim Lake in 1969, scooping in front of our cabin
I first saw Hawaii Mars at Ukee Days in july 93 when I was 9. She did a couple low passes over the fair and then bombed the woods next to the field with water. It was awesome. We all enjoyed the mist that washed over us on that hot day
CN is the worst railroad in Canada Motherfucker 😡🤬
agreed, they fucked up bc rail's legendary horns :(
Yeah they did @@CoreytheATSFConnie
@@MichaelSaraka1980 I hope 4618 since it’s preserved gets a K5H replica or something

Tengo un compresor igual pero cuando llega a 150 de aire se dispara por la válvula que está en el reloj del medidor del aire gracias espero me ayude
I finally found video of this! Thank you for sharing. I was lucky to see this demo in person, but I didn’t have anything to record it with😢
I believe this was at the 2008 Truck Loggers show....I remember going to the show and getting to see their display inside and enjoy the show outside....awesome!
I about to buy that same horn its to good to real🍷 🗿
3:37 got the BC ferries fast cats in the background. This video is beauty catch of that time in BC
In Nootka sound as a kid from our boat I've seen them pick up and drop over and over. We hugged the beach l could see the pilots face as it scooped.
It was Bar creek camp in the 70's. Cook caught side hill on fire behind camp.
There is nothing better than the sound of a classic 244. It has always been one of my favorite engines growing up because I grew up right by the Delaware Lackawanna railroad with their historic Alco fleet. The RS3 is one of my favorite engines not only because of the unique design, but for their incredible sound as well.
This is awesome thanks!
Feels just like a cartoon scene
Phenomenal piece, and a beautiful song it sings!! What year does the serial # put it in terms of production?
Bring back the Prime 920 horn. I have one. They sound absolutely amazing!
Wow
Beautiful plane! My screenplay ‘Floating Laura’ features the Mars. ‘A maverick steals a classic airliner off a lake’. Often when sailing off Sidney (BC) it would fly overhead after picking up water off Saanich Inlet. I understand she’s headed to our BC Aviation Museum. Right on!
+When your flaps are the size of some aircrafts entire wing.
Love the BC Rail in British Columbia
my beloved Martin Mars demos near Canada Place, Vancouver BC
The nathan K5L will go down in the history books
What If BC Rail is Privatized?
Shoot down this disturbing heli !
thsi is so hot
I miss bc rail
What year is it?
If a plane touches down on a body of water, can it really be said to "land"?
if your nose runs and your feet smell are you built upsidedown?
@@peteaplin8324 Absolutely 💯 😆
Was nice…sorta. I have an idea “basically” where the video was shot, but got lost at the beginning when the locos backed up around a brand, to couple to “something”. A bit on the dark side; digital files don’t respond well to shadows. Spent 60+ years trackside shooting stills and movies, so allow me this one. The video would have benefited from a good description and for sure, some text within a few frames, to tell us what’s going on; where; the (pre-recorded) toot-toot doesn’t do the job quite well. Hint: Shooting within the yard in a better lighted area would have worked well all around, to show the train going by. I noticed you used some headlights at some point I don’t want to look hyper critical, but I shot several thousand photos trackside and for the past 20 years, movies and then videos, so just moderately impressed., compared to your other ones.
The most iconic modern train horn ever
It's really a shame that these BCOL units are nearly extinct. The red white and blue paint scheme is beautiful.
Love the radio chat!
It's amazing to think how old the are and how long they served . Canada has taken woundful care of them.😁
Who else saw BNSF #4702, the locomotive that derailed by Boulder in 2010?
Cómo ajustas las presiones en los dos resortes
Nunca lo podrás ajustar si los cuerpos están desgastados ! Yo termine cambiando 6 nuevos ! La diferencia es astronómica !
I freaking love K5h horns. Now the k5las are good for Amtrak locomotives but the k5h’s minor tuning makes it sound way better for freight trains.
Bring back the legendary BC Rail
These are what the FM Trainmasters had
One of the best horns out there. I love a good K5LA, but there's something about the minor tuning on K5Hs that makes them that much cooler. I remember hearing one on a super humid walk just after sunset in 2004 (before I knew much about trains at all) on what I think was an NS B32-8. That minor chord kept playing back in my mind the whole rest of the evening after I got home and I loved it.
Bring back BC Rail
P 5 horn
0:40 Why is there steam coming out of the whistle when it's being blown? Isn't that her air whistle?
NS 7603 has a K5H (Different Sounding)& I caught it in Emmaus PA on 3/6/22. Also, I recently got NS 4261 w/ a K5L on 8/14/22
