Dragon My Feet | Walking the British Coast Part 9
Wales. The land of the dragon. Continuing my journey from Llandudno, around the Great Orme's Head peninsula, towards Conwy Castle. This was a 2-day mini-adventure; Part 10 coming soon!
This stunning promontory of limestone rock is thought to be named after the Old Norse "orm" or "urm", meaning worm or sea-serpent - words we still associate with dragons today.

Mountains, and Molehills

One day, as the flowers of early summer festooned the rolling hills of The Peak District, and the rivers babbled their meandering ways through the Goyt and Etherow valleys, I set out upon a mission to honour a beloved lady. This silent journey, save for the chirping of songbirds, the gurgling of impatient streams and the stomping of my feet, I have accompanied with her favourite music - Tchaiko...

West Kirby to Neston - Part 4 of my North West Coastal Meander
If you had stepped over the wall at the New Quay pub you could have strolled along a footpath on the marsh to a fabulous unspoiled pub called the Harp Inn with beautiful view over to Wales.
A sublime sunset!!
Perfect music for this video!
Lovely sentiments. Looks like you've waited a while to make this a public post from the date and season. You clearly loved your mum very much. It's a very thoughtful tribute.
Thanks so much for the kind words Mark, yes this was back in late spring early summer. The location provides a stunning view over Greater Manchester and the city centre, and I will certainly be going back soon to have a good chat with her :D
Great Summer evening's spent with friends getting stoned on Thor's Rock and camping in Royden Park in my late teens. Not a care in the world back then, it was bliss.
I'm still doing this in my 40s :D
Meols…pronounced ‘Mells’
I suffer with terrible OCD so I'm glad you pointed this out.
I’m really loving thease coastal trip videos so interesting. I would love to do something like this but unfortunately I can not venture to far from home due to my children’s needs atm maybe one day. How far did you walk ? Seemed like a long way
Thanks matey! Yes I agree being single with no kids has its benefits I guess, but you are doing yours proud with days out on the coast, you can see they love it. About 10 miles I think it was, though it felt like more after all the sand and rocks!
Go to the to bidston hill known as biddy Hill we have a light house windmill and observatory and all I walking disstance😅
Sounds great, I'll have a look next time I'm there :-)
I am in Inverness
Fantastic! Have fun!
Fantastic Peter you really can’t beat being by the coast. There really is a primal urge that draws us to the sea. Thoroughly enjoyed the video.
Thanks matey! If I keep doing this series I'll end up in your neck of the woods one day!
@@ramblingremedies that would be awesome mate. If you do end up this way should give me a shout maybe a cheeky little collaboration vid and a pint if you was up for that. Plus would be pretty cool to meet you in person
Absolument magnifique
Merci beaucoup monsieur!
No toast 😂
Hah, I really miss toast. With strawberry jam. And real butter 😋
Fantastic video Peter really enjoyed the topic you were talking about. I can definitely relate to a lot of what you was saying and that winter SAD is horrible I really suffered with it last winter for the first time and like you I started to notice it once the clocks went back
thanks for watching mate 🙂 glad I'm not the only one!
Just came up on my recommended, wholesome, subbed
Wow thanks mikey! 🙂
An enjoyable vid. Living in the north ain't all bad. (speaking from NZ)
Thanks for watching and commenting :-) I wonder if the NZ north/south islands have similar friendly disdain for each other. You're right - neither the north nor the south of the UK are half as bad as the other side makes out :-)
youve left a rambling remedy shaped hole in my heart❤
Aww! Thanks for watching 🙂
Amazing adventure teacher . Dr Ali
Thank you Dr Ali 😁
Far too noisy to enjoy and the music didn't help, sorry
Don't be sorry. I'm not 😉😁
Just a little tip... you could do with lowering the background music and/or speaking louder. I always like to hear what you have to say😅
Thanks for your suggestion, I always appreciate advice! I think I've done a slightly better job in more recent videos but still something I'm working on, finding that balance 🙂
Im lucky to live at the back of the former Crown and Mitre pub by the railway bridge. Nice walk down Charley Lane to the Old Hall and Paper Mill
Wow that is lucky, you live in a beautiful nook of the land there. Thanks for watching!
We used to camp in Thurstaston every weekend. Never had a problem.
Compelling storytelling, exciting details! Let's watch this documentary together.
Glad you liked it :-)
I'm originally from Chinley. A pity they closed the nearest pubs to the campsite, the Crown and Mitre and the Cross Keys.
Really? That sucks. Would love to have visited those pubs. Thanks for your comment :-)
Very cool vid mate, never done this particular route myself but I am familiar with a lot of the places you traveled through. The coast up those ways is beautiful and full of history! Keep the adventure vids coming!
Thanks Will! Sad in a way to be finished with the Wirral coastline but I'm sure to pop back - that forest you went to looks like it needs an explore 🙂
Great video Peter the Castle was really interesting. looked like an awesome ride how many miles did you do? Been year's since I've been out cycling this definitely made me fancy getting out for a ride
Hi James and thanks! It was about 33 miles I think. Proper sore bum by the end!
good to see you're doing well
Thanks!
Great video Pete. Your production gets better and better x😃
Thanks Stevey x 🙂
used to drink in the Cottage Loaf as it was the only place that would serve us being a group or 17/18 olds then go for bbq on the beach..good times ,
Really? Haha! Sounds like a great night out 😄
I really enjoyed watching this video 🫶🏻
Thank you so much for watching and your lovely comment :-)
Great video Pete. Your French is remarkable x
Merci beaucoup mon frère! x
that lighthouse @ 9 minutes is actually next door to where chris boardman lives
Wow interesting!
Used to live and it was opposite...last house on the left down Stanley road. They moved from there ages ago!
Love this Peter really enjoyed the editing especially the eye transition 👀
KEEP GOING!
why are you speaking to random animals…
Conversations with animals are sometimes more interesting than those with some humans...
Best teacher in the world, Natural geographic must hire you immediately
Aww thanks!!
Great video Peter amazing how different it looks since you was last there. Totally agree with you about letting the country side wash over you and hitting the reset button if I don’t get out in nature for a couple of day feel like I’m bouncing of the walls.
Thanks matey :-)
Great video Peter really enjoying your videos with Minnie such a lovely dog great to see you both enjoying yourselves. Do you play the guitar? Just spotted the one in the back of the car
Thanks James! Yes we had fun, can't wait for her next visit. I'd just picked up the guitar that day, a friend gave it to me and I intend to get practising - it's decades since I played one and then it was only a few chords. Watch this space!
@@ramblingremedies nice one it’s rewarding playing an instrument I don’t play anymore but used to play the guitar when I was a boy funny enough one of the only songs I used to play was hotel California so when I heard the guy on the piano in your other video it brought the memory right back. Good luck with the practicing mate
Fantastic video Peter what a perfect day out in nature with Minnie few beers I’m also a Guinness man myself. Loved the animal voices had me laughing especially the sheep 😂. Btw song hotel California by the eagles
Yay thanks mate, and yes correct. Wish I could play the piano!
Awesome I do love a good Timelapse amazing
Awesome adventure Peter thoroughly enjoyed sitting down with a coffee and watching your video so peaceful really helped me me relax. Music was perfect really liked the dubstep one at the beginning
Thanks so much! Yes I must admit to a guilty craving for the odd bit of dubstep🤩
@@ramblingremedies I do love a bit of dubstep mate gets you right in the mood for adventure
Fantastic video peter what a beautiful landscape. It did look chilly in that wind tho hopefully have some warmer weather to look forward to soon. I enjoyed the tunnel of doom I’ve got to admit I’m not a huge fan of old tunnels and caves I think its the thought of all that weight above your head freaks me out a bit lol. Good to see you enjoying a few well deserved pint’s after all that walking. All the best James
Thanks James! Yes can't wait for Spring soon, I can smell it in the air! 😃
Fantastic video great to see some of the north west coast trails like the music as well. Going to go check out your wild camping video next sounds like you had a great fun after a few beers. Wish I had your confidence talking to the camera you always seem to have endless interesting things to talk about. And now I can’t stop thinking about carrot cake lol
Haha yes carrot cake is my goto treat of choice! Thanks for watching and commenting, to be honest I splashed out on Epidemicsound.com for about £9 a month, just because UA-cam Audio Library and other sources were a bit restrictive in the music available. I love your videos too mate, and when I get a chance I'm gonna watch some more of yours. And don't be afraid of waffling to the camera - pretend it's a partner or friend - you can always edit out the silly bits later 🙂
@@ramblingremedies ah thank you mate and thanks for the advice I really appreciate it I will try that next time I’m out. Yes I’ve been using epidemic sound for a while has a much better selection.
Fantastic video and editing I really enjoyed it felt like I was there with you. you seem like a man after my own heart enjoying the small details that a lot of people would just walk by and a beautiful tribute to your mum. I live on the coast of south Devon and regularly walk and run sections of the coast path so know what you mean about the dodgy paths and rock falls. subscribed
Wow thanks man that means a lot! I will get down there some day soon to check out those cliffs for myself. Now I'm gonna take a look at some of your videos 🙂
@@ramblingremedies No problem at all really pleased I found your channel. It is a beautiful place here definitely worth a trip down. Oh thank you hope you enjoy them 🙂
yippee
Ah this was nice to watch, great editing too x
Thank Jen 🙂 x
Great to see you back Pete. Brilliant video xx
Thanks Stevey 🙂Glad you enjoyed it, more coming very soon. Love you bro.
600 why you SHOULD leave your phone on the bar
I'm sure there'll be a sequel, you little ragamuffin!
slay amelie
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Was that a pub or the kindergarten?
Slayed tbh
nice one bru! You did it! Yes it's fun to pass the time drinking beers, but it's bad for sleeping outdoors, which is tough at the best of times. Also have to keep getting up to P in the night, pretty frustrating when it's cold out. Night time can be boring unless you go fishing or back to the pub for more! loool!
Tell me about it! Can't remember how many times I fell out of the hammock for a pee! Next time I'll drink less and read a book maybe :-)
@@ramblingremedies Or watch youtube videos loool!
Another great video Pete😁
