Have you seen the 1997 film Funny Games? There's two versions, but I think the German original is better. You've probably already seen it, bit if not it's worth a watch/reaction.

Yes, I have seen both versions. I think, since it's a one-to-one remake, it comes down to what language/actors you prefer. I like Tim Roth and Naomi Watts for example, even though the german actors also did a fantastic job.

This video was recorded before my break. A break which was way too long to be honest. I only planned for about one or two months, and it turned out to be over four months. But since then, I did a lot of stuff in the background. I've optimized the channel, updated my editing software, worked on my color grading, which you will see in my next videos (still being optimized), created a new channel just for the Patreon uploads, fought against copyright and eventually won. Well, at least that's what I'm telling myself. Anyways, I'm glad to be back, and I'm definitely planning to stay. 🫵

Take yourself out of the movie for a moment. Would you really be ok with your child meeting a stranger, spending all his time with him, an adult mentally ill man, who spent decades in a mental Hospital, who cut the head from his mother and another? And keep it a secret from you?! We all love Karl but c'mon now.

According to the film commentary by the director, the reason he doesn't try to kill him at 9:05 is that it's too dangerous, too many people still around.

When I was 15, my brother and I went to see this movie as a lark back in 1975 and we figured it would be a stupid period costume melodrama. Ryan O'Neal was not considered a "serious" actor at the time. After about 25 minutes I turned to my brother and said in astonishment, "you know, this is pretty good". I have since grown to hold this film in the highest esteem.

hello i am from Sicily and i watched your video because i was curious to see the reaction and perception from your side since you are a foreigner, first of all let's do some context the movie in the first part is set in the years after the war, the Anglo-Americans had recently left Sicily and the church had a relevant role in the local culture, in contrast to this you can see how in reality the sicily of those years was living the American dream precisely because it wanted to forget the war and the 20 years that will officially end on April 25, 1945 reason why until 1954 illiteracy was still widespread here is explained why alfredo takes the diploma, as it was necessary for him not only for culture but to continue working. One aspect i want to underline is that this film abroad is perceived as an italian film, in reality this film is purely Sicilian. From this film you can learn how a Sicilian expresses himself, how a Sicilian thinks and also the Sicilian sense of humor which is made up of gestures and expressions, expressions that the subtitles cannot fully represent, which is why you may have found unclear moments in the dialogues. All these elements that i have described to you have remained unchanged over time. the explanation of the love story between Salvatore and Elena: beware there is a spoiler here: the love story is explained and developed in the director's cut the two meet as adults when salvatore returns for alfredo's funeral and in a very poetic dialogue with wonderful editing they retrace their love story. SPOiLER in reality both had never stopped loving each other and writing to each other but Alfredo prevented them from receiving each other's letters making them both believe that the other had forgotten her forever. You must find the scene to see how powerful it is the square guy it's a veteran who got mad because of the war so he is the mad of the village explanation of the Neapolitan citizen in Sicily: in reality at the time it could have been a normal fact imagine that up to 100 years before Naples and all the lands up to Sicily were a united, sovereign and independent state so it was not difficult for them to find themselves there. it's a film that talks about love, about the sense of family, a patriotic film intended as Sicilian patriotism curiosity: for a few years now, a small film festival has been held at the location of the film i hope with this comment i have answered some unanswered questions and satisfied some of your curiosity and not offended anyone's sensibilities. thank you, greetings from Sicily.

I think this movie does a pretty decent job of staying faithful to the original novel. Obviously there are one or two changes and some things that have been left out for the sake of time but on it's basically the same story as the book. Having read the book I'd say Edward Fox really nails The Jackal and Michael Lonsdale really nails Lebel.

Awesome film! Watched it again only a week or so ago and it still stands up as one of my all time favourite films. The tension just never lets up, and Edward Fox was the perfect choice to play the eponymous 'Jackal.' Sadly, the Bruce Willis version is just rubbish by comparison.

Both Peck and Olivier are excellent old actors, RIP. Olivier is excellent I'm the Marathon Man, another fun of that era I would recommend to you. Peck did many excellent films, To Kill A Mockingbird being one but he's known as Ahab, the captain who becomes consumed with his hated against a white whale, because he blamed it for looking his brother. James Mason was no slouch either. All 3 men had VERY distinct speaking voices and they had fully mastered them well before even this film. :)

If you watched the movie then xid a review, you would know what happened. No one spared him....he left for lunch by going out the back door and was not seen leaving. And the guy looked at his picture to see who was going in the front door. They were hired to kill everyone there.

Why did you show clips of the movie? You should have spent a half hour guessing what the film was about. Or just done a reviee.

I have a special memory of this movie because a couple of years before it came out (late middle school? early high school? I can't be sure) I felt that I wasn't reading enough. so, I went to the corner drug store and browsed through the paperback books section, and this title caught my eye. I bought it and I loved it. another book from the same store was "the winds of war"

Zell wasn't looking for gold teeth!! He's torturing him for information. Geeeeeeeezzzzz. The Diamond District in NYC would have been the worst place for a former Nazi who worked in the camps to walk through, at least in that time period.

When Patton says Hitler’s own people tried to kill him, he was referring to Operation Valkyrie. If you’ve never seen the Tom Cruise movie ‘Valkyrie’, you really need to check it out.

One of the few Tom Cruise films I haven't seen. On my list 👍
