    Thanks to the WNBA, I now know what I want to do for the rest of my life....I'm going to get a DiJonai Carrington look-alike outfit, complete with brown leg makeup & a blond wig, and shimmy around like some fool with an IQ below 30, in the busiest intersection of my hometown......

    *Rookies on olympic teams: Rebecca Lobo in 1996, Diana Taurasi in 2004, Candace Parker in 2008 and Breanna Stewart in 2016 (the latter 3 all #1 draft picks BTW). You cant say Caitlyn Clark is wet behind the ears or she's too new. CC has outscored all those girls in college, and she's more popular than all of them too. CC also has 2 gold medals for the US National team U19. *The narrative is that the women basketball team want "proven", "experienced" players who have played with each other before. The narrative doesn't stand knowing that they have broke that rule for those 3 but not CC. Stat wise she is as good as they were when they were rookies, just much more assists per game than any of them in their first 12 games. The point is she needs to be on the team, no matter if she's riding the bench, getting 1 minute a game, or getting 1111 minutes a game. Their narrative just doesn't hold up and seems to hide ulterior motives.

      Appreciate your commentary. I believe that each situation is different. It's easy to pick through the names but it needs context. I would be lying if I said I had that info. What I will say is that it was stated that Breanna Stewart got the nod in 2016 because her college coach Geno Auriemma was coaching the team plus 4 of her teammates from college were on the team so there was definitely chemistry there. All that to say, there is nuance to each situation. I just don't believe there was hate associated with Caitlin not making the team. She would have been a great marketing tool though. Just not sure she would've played. Appreciate the support. ~ Bong

    yeah right, becoz Team USA has always been about who are the 12 best american players SMH. Emeka Okafor and Anthony Davis got selected in the 2004 and 2012 olympic teams without playing a single NBA game, not even Summer League or pre-season or G-league. KG shouldve been on both 2004 and 2012 squads. The next best healthy players to replace Blake Griffin in 2012 after KG were Zach Randolph, David West, David Lee, and Josh Smith. But they went with a college kid who wasnt even in the NBA. Taurasi, Candace Parker, and Breana Stewart all made it to the Olympic teams in their rookie years which coincided with the Olympics. Even Lebron, Wade, and Melo got selected in the 2004 Team USA, who were just rookies, when they could've picked 20 other established NBA vets. Why are the standards now tougher for CC. It never was about merit or credentials. Her non-inclusion is tragic and disappointing, to say the least.

      Great points. There is an argument for her to be on the team just as there is one for her not to be on the team. You have definitely structured a good argument in her favor. Who would you take off the team to add Caitlin Clark? One thing is for sure, and that is they better not go to Paris and have a single close game or they will never hear the end of it. ~DP

    This video is an hour and a half long. Caitlin already got an invite, but she couldn't attend, because she was in the final four. This is Diana Torosi's last year. Diana is a DAWG!!! She will do anything to win! She has the physicality. She also has synergy with the Olympic team. Caitlin can't dribble on left. She can't penetrate the paint. The other WNBA players joke that she spends more time on the floor. Caitlin has no D. She gets stripped more than a $2 dolla ho.

    Caitlin Clark won Gold Medals at the 2019 and 2021 FIBA U19 World Cups and the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and was honored as the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup MVP and All-Star Five selection. How do you leave her off the Olympic Team? Total BS.

    • @2wopeezandabong
      @2wopeezandabong 2 дні тому

      You bring up some good points. I could also say Chet Holmgren was the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup MVP on the men's side. Should he be on the Men's National Basketball Team for this upcoming Olympics? I think his time will come if his trajectory continues in the direction it's going. Caitlin Clark's time will come too...at least I think it will. There are levels to everything. The Olympic Games are more challenging than the U19 World Cup. Clark had great success in NCAA College Basketball, the WNBA is proving to be more challenging for her...is she a top performer in the WNBA? Some will argue that she is while others will not. I ask that because the Olympic team comprises top performers from the WNBA. I've heard folks target Taurasi's production this year in comparison to Clark's, but we know this is likely Taurasi's last Olympics so they will not be replacing her with Clark. KP even mentioned something about Taurasi's stats during our discussion. I'm just throwing all this out there to say there is an argument for Clark being a part of the Olympic team, and there is an argument for her not being a part of the team. What you are saying has some value in this discussion, and there is also another side. Either way, we appreciate you stepping in to speak on it. ~DP

CC has the highest watched NCAA women’s basketball game ever. ( Game was against UCONN on 4/5/24.) The highest viewed WNBA game took place this year as well. It was the Indiana Fever vs. The New York Liberty. Who has the highest selling WNBA jersey? Knowing CC has the biggest fan base, why not put her on the National team? It will bring more eyes to the women’s game. It’s proven! Whether CC is on the team or not won’t change them being the favorite to win gold. I clicked on this content , because i saw three black men on the panel and i thought , chances are one of these guys played basketball , possibly all three . And understands the game .I'm a 71 year old black man. I player organized ball in the late 60s a early 70s after that mainly street ball . . If you've played then you know the mentality of a baller . He is in front of you trying to kill your confidence and rip you heart out of your chest . He never tries to hurt you physically but mentally , he wants to hear you say no- mas . He wants to instill fear of him into you . After the game is over . You sit around and just enjoy each other . But when you lace um up , step across the line and the ball goes up . They're at your ass though out the whole game no matter how long it last . Now i understand that people are trying to build their channels and there are limitations, and dos and don't. But listen , only God can raise caitlin up above her abilities. And he will . if the wnba , social media and everybody else get out of his way , he will . But God will put her through the fire and if she comes out , she'll come out as pure gold . But man wants to build her up as more than she is and if caitlin chooses mans way . She'll fall . And then people will turn on her . But don't worry God will have some black players there to catch her !

      Thanks for joining the convo. I did play in high school and college, but I did not play professionally. I'm in the top left corner of the video. A lot of what you are speaking to is the competitive nature of the game; and if a player is a highly touted talent, in any sport, chances are that their opponent is going to give that player his/her best. Now we don't claim to be the aficionados of WNBA coverage/analysis. We can, however, speak on the nature of competitive sports. Caitlin Clark is likely going to get every opponent's best effort, and I didn't expect anything other than that. Clark is good for women's basketball, and I am glad to see that the WNBA is getting more attention. While Clark may be leading the charge in the increase of interest in the WNBA, I am not going to point to her as the only reason the WNBA is getting more attention. At the end of it all, I hope this leads to more opportunities for women in the WNBA. I may not be the most knowledgeable about women's basketball, but I want to see the sport grow, and that goes for women's sports in general. ~DP

    Fellas...What was San Antonio's record before drafting Victor? What was their record with Victor this season? Team Sport! What is the avg field goal percentage from 3 in the WNBA with players taking at least 4 three's per game and how does Clarks's percentage compare to that as a rookie? Her numbers are above avg for any starting player in the league forget about if you just compared her numbers to other rookies. Look at the teams she has played NY twice, CT twice and LA once, those are the 3 best teams in the league. Look at what she did to the Mystics tonight who are 0-9 (30 points) Clark is going to be a problem this year and she will be multi MVP. Most of the players in the WNBA are not skilled, Clark has an exceptional skill set in regards to shooting and passing. She like any other player will need to get stronger hence the turnovers but she is ahead of projections.

Both Men and Women are HUMAN. What's done for one should be done for all. Knowledge of a sport has various levels. All sports do. Women should not get more sensitivity then Men. The WNBA was not ready for the attention from the fandom. You can't sell your product if it is boring. Education of people about the WNBA will be slow and the WNBA cannot force people to be the fans they want.

    • @2wopeezandabong
      @2wopeezandabong 8 днів тому

      I agree with you in terms of us not showing as much interest in the WNBA before, and talking about it now just like a lot of others are doing. We actually talked about that toward the end of our discussion. I will add that we are relatively new to podcasting, and we just recently started trying to put some more energy into getting things rolling on YT. Hopefully, we'll build a platform that covers a wide range of topics and sports for both men and women. I want to see the WNBA grow, and I would like to see growth in other women's sports as well. I have a daughter who has aspirations of playing college sports (soccer, track and even flag football), and I want that for her and any other young lady who is working hard and deserves the opportunity. You also make a good point about educating folks about the WNBA. Once people know more about the sport and its players, it will grow and gain popularity. That growth may not happen as rapidly as some would want or may anticipate, but the coverage of the WNBA is certainly experiencing a spike right now, and I think that's a good thing. We appreciate your feedback. ~DP

    You could not get more things wrong if you TRIED… Firstly, Swoopes outright lied about CC. You cannot make a valid point if you straight up lie to get,there. 1 Swoopes said CC played 5 years, buzz!!! She played four, and actually played LESS games than Kelsey Plum. She also made the sheer idiotic comment that CC was 25 her Sr. Year buzz!!! She was 22 her full senior year. Swoopes also said she put up 40 shots a game. buzz!!! 19 a game, her senior game, about one more per game than KP. Facts matter when building a case, yes? No? Iowa was selling out their games CC’s junior year, home and on the road before the National Championship game, and don’t forget SC that year (undefeated, this is the final four game), and CC put up 41 to get to the finals against LSU. Not gonna rehash the senior year, know my facts but don’t want to write a book, just an abbreviated chapter. No one but YOU are inferring that anyone take it easy on CC, only that she doesn’t get massacred. You do know that she has 3 techs, 4 more and she would have to, sit a game. So every team can throw everything at her, bait her into a tech until she gets four, so now she just has to take it. And… she has, and oh btw CC herself has not asked for any quarter herself. She has tried her level best to be classy and restrained. As far as her field goal % fair enough, but Kelsey Plum herself said it took her 3 years to figure the league out, and CC is only 10 games in. Sheesh. And players are jealous, she is getting clobbered, I am watching, you want to yap about it, with a slanted, biased take be my guest. I have a lot more to say, I could inundate you with facts, not worth my time, in a forest with no subscribers, my fallen tree will land on deaf ears anyway, which is a good thing given your nonsense. 548 subscribers or so? Yikes. Count me out. ⤵️🔥 JP

      The reality is almost all thoughts on Cailtin Clark are seen through the lens of race. These bozos blabbing here are conveniently ignoring facts. Important facts. It is a racial delusion. Like Reese thinking she has a big role in the WNBA's popularity explosion. She is a very, very small part of it. Iowa and Caitlin had a legion of fans before the LSU/IOWA final. The LSU semi had 3.3 million viewers. The Iowa semi had 5.6 million viewers. If Reese retired that day, the massive increase in popularity brought on by Caitlin's incredible college career into the WNBA would have occurred the same way. 400% increase in TV rating, over 200% increase in ticket sales, etc.

    • @2wopeezandabong
      @2wopeezandabong 11 днів тому

      Thanks for the response JP. We appreciate it. You led with your information disputing some of the things Swoopes said, but I think you may have missed the point I was making when I brought up what she, and Diana Taurasi, said in terms of the adjustment process Caitlin Clark would experience in the WNBA. What is wrong about that? She is in the midst of experiencing that process now. You raised a lot of other points, but you didn't address that. The reason why I highlighted Clark's senior season stats only was to specifically talk about how her transition from her senior year to the WNBA is going. If you listened, you would have heard us say that it has not been all bad. I believe she will do just fine, but it is not going to be a cakewalk for her. You must have your head buried in YOUR facts if you think folks aren't out here inferring that the other players take it easy on Caitlin Clark...several media personalities have made such inferences, and I think it is ridiculous to suggest, or even think, the other players should take it easy on her. More than one thing can be true when people are discussing a particular topic. You disagree with what we're saying so you have labeled it as nonsense; but hey it appears that you have also counted yourself out from further engagement with us so be our guest to keep it moving. Respectfully ~DP

      @@2wopeezandabong I am going to identify this much, but not all, don’t want to,attract haters might anyway. I have pedigree in two sports, one as an ex professional, the other at a very high level. I had a VERY tight connection shall we say as a non player, with the La Lakers/Kings, back when Bruce McNall bought the Kings and they acquired Gretzky. I will leave it there. First Swoopes. Her points are invalid because she lied OUTRAGEOUSLY about her tenure, games played, age, number of shots to DISMISS her records. Then used it to talk about what she will NOT do her rookie year. Stewart’s and Taurasi’s points ARE valid because they were straight forward. I will not listen to you because I know more than the situation on every level than you do. I know that because I DID listen to all of you and you were spitballing on things you don’t know. One was the conclusion that the Fever are losing because of CC’s shooting %. That alone proves you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I will prove that I am objective right here right now. Is her shooting % mediocre, or worse if you want to use another word. Hell yes! But you are just stating probing and don’t know the whole story. I know her story all the way back to her childhood. Did you know that she lead the WNCAA in scoring her Freshman year, and shot 40% from 3? And that she was co-freshman of the year with Paige, and Paige ironically was player of the year as a freshman. No problem, no worries, just an anomaly. Now one more objective fact. You said she will be alright, you don’t know that and neither do I. She could wash out, it happens in every sport. Since you are stat probing, did you see Kelsey Mitchell’s assists number? She is a straight up ball hog in her contract year showcasing her talents for other teams. The Fever are horrible and worse with Fagbenle out. No one, and I mean no one is setting hard screens, running plays, making back door cuts or even helping CC out when she is getting double teamed, blitzed, and sometimes trapped. They also cannot catch the damn ball, and airball layups! I am not writing a book, just a chapter I could go on and on. Do you know Chennedy Carter’s history? What Lin Dunn said? What Tamika Catchings said today. All of this is being gas lit by podcasts, reactors, players on X, coaches saying one thing in front of the camera that are outright lies when they know full well what their player said. (Wilson > Aces). Meanwhile CC doesn’t want any of this garbage. And I have no interest in watching jealousy, envy, hate, personified, then exemplified on the court with prison ball. The casuals will leave, and egos will be satisfied, pat each other on the back, and going back to begging the NBA for subsidized scraps. That’s the Spirit! As in airlines. And oh btw, the perfect prototype for a woman basketball player is/was Candace Parker. CC is a semi-athletic 6’ guard, who has to add tools to her bag, and figure things out at this level. I am on her side because logo 3’s are electric, and she is a generational playmaker. At least don’t tell me I didn’t put in the effort, out. JP

      JP, thanks again for making another appearance. I'm not challenging your pedigree, background, etc. I played basketball and was an NCAA scholarship student-athlete so I know a little something about basketball. I never played professionally, and I have no tight connections with professional players. I am out here just giving my take as a fan of the sport. I am not representing that I know more about the sport than you do. I understand you may be saying those things to qualify your take. I respect your position regardless of your history so long as it is presented with respect, and you seem like you are truly following what's going on, and I respect that. When KP mentioned they are losing because of her field goal percentage, I stepped in to speak to the contrary so let's make sure we don't gloss over that...and yes I am saying she will be alright, and yes you are correct that neither one of us knows that for sure. I actually posed the question of how would the WNBA address things if she flops. I am just giving my opinion in saying that she will be alright, and that is based on her talent. YES, I believe she is a talented player who will find her way through whatever adversity she will face in the WNBA, but I could be wrong. ~DP

He was selected as one of the 15 greatest coaches in NBA history, he has won Coach of the Year once (while in Orlando), and of course we know he won the chip in Boston. I guess we would really need to break down the criteria for what makes a coach elite. This year surely didn't help any arguments for him being considered elite. ~DP
