      Having these thoughts can be incredibly challenging, especially when you're a parent. It's important to remember that having these thoughts doesn't define who you are. POCD can make you doubt yourself, but it's crucial to separate the thoughts from your true self. I strongly recommend talking to a mental health professional who can guide you through this and offer support. Take care.

    Can OCD be mistaken for PTSD?

    • @ocdmantra
      @ocdmantra 9 днів тому

      Great question. OCD and PTSD can definitely seem similar at times, especially since both can cause a lot of anxiety. But they're different in some key ways. OCD usually involves repetitive thoughts and actions that you feel you have to do, while PTSD is often linked to a past traumatic event and can bring flashbacks or nightmares. That said, some of the feelings, like anxiety or anger, can overlap, which might make them seem alike. So if you’re unsure, it might be helpful to chat with a mental health professional to figure out what's really going on. Take care.

    How does a CBT and ERP psychological treatment sessions work for HOCD itself?

    • @ocdmantra
      @ocdmantra 9 днів тому

      Great question. CBT and ERP are both really helpful for HOCD. Here’s a quick breakdown: CBT helps you change the way you think about your OCD. For HOCD, you’ll work with a therapist to challenge and reframe those intrusive thoughts about your sexuality, helping you see them as just thoughts rather than reality. ERP involves facing your fears in a gradual way. For HOCD, you’d practice dealing with anxiety-inducing thoughts without giving in to the urge to check or avoid them. In short, CBT helps with changing your thinking patterns, and ERP helps you face and manage your fears. Both work together to reduce the power of these obsessive thoughts. Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you have more questions.

    Women empowerment.. Go to hell with that empowerment... Girls I find are less times good, they are egoistic, selfish, ungrateful, cruel, emotionless, stone hearted... Only thing they know is to cheat on their life partner.. Use them, I'll treat their mother in law nad destroy a beautiful family.. Then find a new bakra... This will ever continue.. I don't find any women facing so much trouble... Men are real sufferers, their girlfriend and wives all make them suffer.... These women love only lipstick, makeup, party... I doubt whether their love for children is also true or not... They are not humane.... Not all... But majority.. But God - he has created me in a different way.. I am hyperemotional, oversensitive and think of others.. That's why he hates me, torture me .... He gives happiness to bad people..and now when I try to become negative, he is disturbing my mind... Does he want me to exist or wants to kill me slowly. Just one time, merely one time i asked him to appear in my dreams to once a., answer my questions.. I am not overthinker, yes i am not able to control my emotions, I am hypochondriac but now I am not overthinker just searching an answer.. Which I don't find.... Now I see any man I see them mostly as innocent and women as evil..... This is what all of them do right? Destroy people.. And i didn't harm anyone.. Why I suffer then? Anxiety, sleepless all... The evildoers are on the loose... Even God uses his powers on soft people he can't do anything to bad ones na.. They are clever...

    And how to apply it only for HOCD?

    • @ocdmantra
      @ocdmantra 14 днів тому

      The tips in the video can definitely be adapted for HOCD too. The core idea is to reduce anxiety, which is very much applicable to HOCD. For HOCD, focus on acknowledging your feelings without judgment. Remind yourself that these thoughts are just that-thoughts, not facts. Practice grounding techniques to bring yourself back to the present moment when you feel overwhelmed. Also, try using cognitive restructuring to challenge and reframe any irrational fears or doubts about your sexuality. If you’re finding it hard to apply these strategies on your own, consider speaking with a mental health professional who specializes in OCD. They can offer more personalized techniques and support. Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

    I have this as well. I'm 35, it's VERY difficult to keep a job. I hold my hand up to my face so hopefully people don't think it's intentional, but it just makes you look weirder. Thinking about getting super dark sunglasses but that's not appropriate everywhere. And EVERYBODY thinks you like them. Men... Women...everybody! I've had this since 15, I'm so tired😢😢. I also don't have any friends, nobody wants to be near you. Feel like poison. It's very difficult in the workplace, because if people think you're weird you won't have the job for long. Rumors spreading about who you look at and why. I had an elderly sweet woman switch work areas because I made her uncomfortable. To make an older woman uncomfortable just hurts.😢 I'm not trying to offend or make anyone uncomfortable. Restaurants are difficult, have to get a booth at the perfect angle so people don't think I'm staring. I don't look up when people speak, I look at the ground because eye contact is so difficult. Then they say, "well she's rude". 🤷🏾‍♀️

    If you think you have OCD, go see a therapist if you are able. Also; it is very likely to have OCD without having the signs in this video. For example, my OCD revolves around the idea that sleeping is a death sentence, for if you sleep too long, you can't wake up. I don't worry about contamination or handwashing- that's a different type. So please, if you have OCD, seek help. Therapy helped me massively.

      You're absolutely right! Understanding what OCD is can be a huge part of managing it. Once you recognize that those intrusive thoughts are just symptoms of the disorder, it becomes easier to address them. I totally get where you're coming from. The idea of dealing with something like pedophile OCD forever can be really scary. While OCD can be a lifelong condition, it doesn't mean you'll always feel this way. Many people find that with the right treatment, like CBT and ERP, they can manage their symptoms really well. It's not so much about getting rid of OCD entirely but learning how to live with it in a way that doesn't control your life. It might feel tough right now, but with the right help, things can get so much better. So don't hesitate to reach out to a therapist who can guide you through this. Take care!

      I'm really sorry to hear that you're struggling with these thoughts, especially during a time when you should be enjoying your summer. It can feel overwhelming and isolating, but please know that you're not alone in this. Many people experience similar worries, and it doesn't define who you are. Consider reaching out to a mental health professional who can provide guidance and support. In the meantime, try to be kind to yourself and remember that you're not your thoughts. Take care.

    why is it just of a person of the opposite gender? honestly, i don’t get same sex ocd thoughts, but i know that some people do. plus, the only reason i think i don’t get same sex ocd thoughts is because I’m not attracted to the opposite sex as much so i get more ocd thoughts on them. don’t say that it’s normal for teens because of hormonal changes because it’s most likely not and i was told it was just hormones when i was younger but I’m pretty sure it’s not normal for a literal kid to have thoughts of people SA and raping them, especially adults. I’m so sorry for anyone else also going through this.

    • @ocdmantra
      @ocdmantra Місяць тому

      Hi, thanks for opening up. It’s completely normal for intrusive thoughts to vary from person to person, and they can focus on different genders or situations. It sounds like your thoughts are more focused on the opposite sex, and that’s okay. These thoughts don’t necessarily reflect your real desires or feelings-they're just part of how OCD can work. If these thoughts are causing you distress, talking to a mental health professional might really help. They can offer support and strategies to manage these thoughts. Thanks for sharing your experience, and I hope you find some relief and understanding. Take care.

      @ocdmantra Місяць тому

      Hi, it's understandable to worry if your partner shows these signs. Limerence OCD can be really challenging. Have you had a chance to talk to them about what they're feeling? Sometimes, just opening up the conversation can make a big difference. It might also be worth suggesting they talk to a therapist to help them through these feelings. Supporting each other is so important in relationships. If you have any more questions or just need to talk, we're here. Take care!

      I get it. Dealing with emotional contamination OCD in a situation like yours can be super tough. It sounds like you're caught up in some really complex feelings about someone you care deeply for, despite the challenges. It's totally okay to feel conflicted and frustrated-those emotions are totally valid. Taking some time to set boundaries and give yourself space to process could help ease the intensity of your feelings. But if that doesn't work, talking to a mental health professional can be really helpful. Take care!

    Can OCD make you think 1. you JUST tried to do something bad (like hit someone), or 2. that you ARE going to _in the moment._ False memory about the past is absolutely a thing in OCD, but what about _in the moment_ ? Like, "Did I JUST try to...?" Or _in the moment,_ "I'm gonna do this," YET you weren't ACTUALLY gonna do it, it was just a false "intention" triggered randomly. You felt it, you thought you were about to do it, you "consciously" planned to _in the moment_ until you snapped out of it, realized right from wrong, or you didn't do it. Is either a thing in OCD? Let's use _in the moment_ in a different context to clarify. Someone comes at you with an open hand out, so consciously/subconsciously, you dodge.

    • @ocdmantra
      @ocdmantra Місяць тому

      Yes, OCD can definitely cause thoughts like that. It's called "Harm OCD," where you might worry you almost did something bad or are about to, even though you wouldn’t actually do it. These thoughts can feel really real and scary. In-the-moment thoughts like "Did I just try to...?" or "I'm going to do this" are common with OCD. Your brain is tricking you into thinking you had the intention, but it's just a false alarm. But remember, these thoughts don't define you. Talking to a mental health professional can help if you're struggling. Take care.

    I am dealing and suffering from hocd and it really damage and over questioning my identity. I never questioned my sexuality even with the lack of experience in relationship and sex . I always discovered myself as a straight woman, i always masturbated while having in front of me pictures of the men I like and i only watch women as role models to me and sisters, never lovers. I only have crushes on guys, but after I get a accusation of being a lesb from a friend of mine that really fucked up my mind and life, though that accusation got received by me as absurd and stupid, but then Obsessive and intrusive images thoughts about my identity There are days easier than others, but i keep on doing the work, even if it still has a fight between me and a fog of "doubts" about myself when everything of me is so much than solved with my whole life and experience and self-awareness

      Hi, thanks for sharing. It’s really tough dealing with HOCD, especially when it makes you question things you’ve always been sure of. Remember, those intrusive thoughts are part of the disorder and don’t reflect your true feelings. It's great you're working through it and having easier days. Have you found any strategies that help? Or have you considered talking to a professional for support?

      I totally understand where you're coming from. Writing things down can feel tedious, especially when dealing with intrusive thoughts. One alternative you might try is to use voice notes on your phone. Speaking your thoughts out loud can be just as effective and sometimes even more freeing. Everyone’s process is different, so it's important to find what works best for you.
