A Sneak Peak at the GPS System: Using G-D-B Power Blocking to Run Option Plays
This video is a sneak peek at the GPS System, a premium resource from FTCC.
The Gun Power Spread System is $100. You will see why when you dive into it. It is expansive, detailed, and includes periodic updates that I will send you as email attachments when I add it to the system. I plan on adding a section on unbalanced formations later this spring and sections that will dive deeper into RBs and WRs. This will be a perpetual system that grows over time, and you will not have to pay anything extra for updates and additions to the system.
• The Jet Manual is normally $50.
• The Offensive Line Manual for Gap Scheme is regularly $30.
• The Big Book of Bucks is also $30.
Mix, match, and bundle the resources based on what suits you.
For example:
• If you get all four (the GPS plus the other three), it is $150.
• The GPS System bundled with Jet is $120.
• The GPS System bundled with the Buck book is $115.
• The GPS System bundled with the OL manual is $115.
Email me what you want, and I will send it to you right then. Check it out, take it for a test drive, and kick the wheels. If you decide it is helpful, you can send me the money through Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal. handle it this way because the last thing I want is to ask someone to send me money for something that does not meet their needs or leaves them dissatisfied.
I will throw in the Wristband Maker on an Excel spreadsheet file as a gift from FTCC.

The Pre-Snap Read Route

We picked up the Pre-Snap Read Route concept from coach Jeff Kelly of the Saraland Spartans in southwest Alabama. Jeff was Ryan Williams’ high school coach (yes, that Ryan Williams). What Is the Gap-Down-Backer Blocking Scheme?
Переглядів 948Місяць тому
What Is the Gap-Down-Backer Blocking Scheme? What do we mean when we say, "Gap-Down-Backer is a progressive blocking rule?“ We tell our OL that they take each word of the rule one at a time and in order-they “progress” through the rule. We also tell them that the dashes in the rule make it a progression. G-D-B = Step 1 is Gap, Step 2 is Down, and Step 3 is Backer. It is as easy as 1-2-3. The th...

    Thank you for this coach. I'm an inexperienced coach, and nobody could explain to me how to teach our kids 'who' to block. Every 'experienced' coach just seemed to know who the kids missed on blocks but couldn't seem to clarify it for the kids or, for me, the newbie.

    Coach can you run that GPS offense in youth ball?

    • @CoachChip
      @CoachChip Місяць тому

      Yes, but not everything. We never ran everything in a season. It is a system designed to be modified/tweaked by each team. It also depends on the youth team.

    What's the difference between a system and an offense for you coach?

    • @CoachChip
      @CoachChip Місяць тому

      An offense is a collection of plays and formations. A system is also a collection of plays and formations, but it has answers. A coach with a system does not have to overhaul his offense when his personnel changes. A system is a complete approach to the game. It supersedes any formation or collection of formations. It is more than a collection of plays; it has a coherent tapestry of plays that complement each other and put defenses in conflict when they try to take something away from the offense. A system has specific strategies built into its marrow. The Wishbone, Split Back Veer, Air Raid (Spread), West Coast Offense, and Run and Shoot are all famous offenses. When run properly, they can be potent offensive systems that have answers and cover a ton of "if thens" and "what if" situations. Coaches with a system are not scheming from week to week, they are going into their system and using what is already there. I will close with this analogy; an offense is what you wear; it is your outward appearance; a system is what you are; it is your DNA. No one can see your DNA, but they can see its effects.

    Just a question about the section at 15:46 - if we run a lot of wide zone for example as opposed to inside zone, would you recommend then going with the gap-down-backer primarily as the style of blocking is a bit more similar than gap-on-down with how double teams operate in an inside zone scheme compared to a wide zone team that doubles less often / in a different way?

    • @CoachChip
      @CoachChip 2 місяці тому

      Inside Zone and GDB have little in common. Outside Zone (Alex Gibbs style) and GDB tracks do share the same first step and complement each other. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/3U7K3ytXfP8/v-deo.htmlsi=UtfEr4E74YNielk6

When you have more experienced players especially at the Gs you start to maybe start coaching up a little "ON". Where category would you put Wedge. is this considered an extra or part of the base. I think every team needs a .5 yard play as a requirement. Even if its something like FB DIVE or WEDGE

    • @CoachChip
      @CoachChip 3 місяці тому

      Most teams have a Wedge if, for another reason, the quarterback Sneaks. The ones that do not should. I do not think it belongs in any family of plays. The Wedge is a stand-alone play. As a coach who has majored in GDB, I used the Gap scheme terminology to teach the Wedge. I know Zone coaches who use I/S Zone terminology to teach the Wedge.

      The BST does a Gap-Hinge block, unless he pulls to the front side. The BSG usually pulls on GDB with a Kick or a Wrap block. If you have a TE on the backside, he will usually use Gap-Hinge.
