Federal Singal AeroDynic 24EH (Amber)
Переглядів 10 тис.17 років тому
My FedSig AeroDynic 24EH in a wrecker setup. Soon to be converted to blue/red with the "SAFE" flash pattern. Sorry for the mess and my battery being low on power. This one grabs some amps :).
Federal Signal TwinSonic
Переглядів 9 тис.17 років тому
This is my new old stock FS TwinSonic. It came with no bulbs and the local GE dealer could not get me the original 4416s, so i had to put some par36 spotlights in it (temporarily). However, they spread light in a very narrow angle giving sharp flashes even with 30 watts.

My FedSig Smart Vector before refurbishing, just as it arrived from the USA.
I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I'd really like to have an Aerodynic like that. Where can I buy something like that?

J'ai toujours aimé cette rampe la vision ou vector 👍😊
Love the mirror polished interior, This is a good show-and-tell bar. I wish we had this version back in the early 80's when we first got our JetSonic bars but ours had the long mirror that separated the front chamber from the rear and although there were two rotators per side, only ONE could be seen from the front and one from the rear and the long mirror multiplied it's flash. This bar looks and works WAY better than ours ever did.
Wow!
This is Awesome!
Beautiful light bar. I have a mx7000 in my collection. It's my favorite
What controller do you use?
Great combination of traditional halogen rotators with LED technology.
What kind of traffic advisor?
One of my favorite lightbars and one of my favorite songs!!
I think we're alone now, would be better in this case. can't remember who it's by

What's a wieving angle?
That is one beautiful light bar. Very cool to see one refurbed like this. Looks absolutely brand new here. This was Federal Signal's flagship light bar back in the day. I remember when the agency I worked for got their first batch of them and I was fortunate enough to be among the first officers to get one on my car (we used to use AeroDynic bars). These were very effective light bars and had a much smaller profile and just looked much nicer than those older, larger bars.
Also, I remember Southern Vehicle Products (*SVP*) came out with a similar lower profile light bar that looked like a cheap knock-off of the JetSonic back then. I guess it was supposed to compete with the JS but their bar was the sorriest POS you ever saw. You couldn't even see it when turned on during the day, and at night it wasn't much better. It was THE biggest joke of a lightbar you ever laid eyes on! Wish I could remember the model #...
Beautiful light bar. I remember the day we got these installed on our new patrol cars in 1985. We just got some new Dodge Diplomat patrol cars and instead of going with the same AeroDynic light bar they used in years past, they went with the JetSonic bar with 'smart' rotators and those were great bars. They didn't work any better than the AeroDynic bars but they looked WAY better because they had a smaller profile. I've always loved and preferred rotating halogen light bars like this.
I didn't know they made clear lower optical filters for the flashers. Makes sense though, if you have a clear flasher (which isn't very common, though.)
I just pulled out my very first JetSonic lightbar that I got over 15 years ago and it has the same features as yours does minus the strobes. Mine didn't work and I pulled them out but when I went to try everything out all I got was the rear rotators to alternate back and fourth. I couldn't get the front ones to alternate with the rear ones. I supplied power to the main red wire minus the thin red white striped wire and supplied power to the thin black wire with a white stripe and connected one of the other smaller thin blue wires and got the rear ones going. If you can, can you make a video of what wires do what or post up the wiring schematics somehow?

is this available for sale
Beautiful Job !!
How much power does this thing draw? I would love to put one on my truck in the future but I would like to know what kind of alternator/battery upgrade I would have to do if any.
lol
Are the lower deck filters changeable, and can the white flashers act as takedowns as well?
whats this song called
Funny...my fire company has a 91 Ford engine with one of these suckers on it. Love the hell out of that bar
I have the fast version. Great light, wouldn't trade it for anything
Very Nice! i like the LEDs!
Beautiful lightbar. Is chrome plate self made ?
I love the retrofitted MX7000's with LED's... Get the best of both worlds.
Well i am a firefighter and I want red and white but in my state, I can't have it
@Baliszoft Good point.
@Baliszoft The 16Fs are great to work with. But lately Ive been using the Arduino UNO. It has 14 digital I/O 6 being PWM enabled and 6 analog pins. It uses an ATMEL ATMEGA 328P
@Baliszoft I will have to try that. What microcontroller/PICs? I also make my own emergency LED lighting and Im curious to know what others use. (dont mean to keep bugging lol).
@Baliszoft Very nice work then. Would you mind making a video of just the PCB work? And by the way, what etching solution did you use? The boards are spotless.
Coming from an electronics engineer and hobbyist, Who made the PCBs for you? They turned out really well. Same with the 10mm clear package LEDs boards.
@startrekfan76 It will work just fine. I have the same set up on all of my lights and sirens. just match the fuse and current ratings.
@77jcarney usually, it's legal if it's amber
I am def interested in some of those led modules. Let me know if you have any for sale or know where I can get them
awesome light, we used to have them on out 77 ford wreckers...thanks!
These were VERY effective dash light systems back in their day. Although the motors in this particular light was a bit loud, it was a hell of a light when the mirror attachment was added to it. Two of these on the rear deck and you'd swear it was a full bar from a distance. I tried out one of these back around 1990 and found it to be a very good light. I preferred the Federal Signal Fireball II with mirror attachment, as it was less noisy and way more sturdy (less plastic). Still a great lite.
@STARZFAN31 streethawks are one of my all-time favorites.
