Got here too late for the re-upload. 😉 I expected to struggle a bit more on this one, but found the break-in pretty fast and then moved smoothly to the end where I made a 'whoops' with the cage in box 5 and had to backtrack a bit. That, plus doing the full coloring did slow me down some, but still finished in 10:09 (conflict checker off), many thanks to Palfly for a great puzzle!

27:00 OMG! I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to resolve this. Ended up trying both to get the right answer. Didn't see that 3 repeats in the cage. I should have remembered the golden rule. When lost, reread the instructions. That would have helped.

I don't think it's solvable without a guess. I think it's missing an arrow originating in box 8, from r9c6 heading left. It looks like there's an arrow that's cut off. Without a guess, I don't see how this is possible, and ChattyKathy got lucky with a guess.

@chattykathy Any ideas why the solved pop-up says "chocolate rain"?

I actually looked at this last night and realized I was too tired to try to solve it, so I held off until this morning and after pondering a bit the constraint 'clicked' with me and was able to finish in 11:29 (conflict checker off). Really wonderful puzzle and starting to like this constraint (second time I've seen it), many thanks to Clover for the great puzzle!

@chattykathy The very first thing that I did was to draw in the phisto ring but then I proceeded to Goodliffe most of the cells which made it harder to see the forest for the trees. Your solve was very clean. Well done!

As much as i used the Dutch whispers in the beginning, I can't believe I completely forgot about them at the very end when I was trying to figure out the 1s and 2s.

Really nice solve, Kathy! This was set in an hour as part of a speed setting contest for Diwali on the CtC discord to create a puzzle based on Rangoli, hence the supersymmetric design. I've since learned that I should have referred to the libes as German rather than Dutch Whispers for a difference of 4 on an 8x8, so sorry if that confused anyone.

I got tripped up on the final "digits can't repeat in cages" for an *embarrassing* amount of time, lol. It's always the simple clues that get you.

I just did low / mid / high and coloured from the start - figured the modulo would be needed later but it wasn't. Going to assume the same result would happen with just using the other constraint, very clever 😃

The coloring is the first and most important step( even if it is forgotten later). Nice solve and an incredible construction by Palfly!!

Very nice solve and a cool puzzle. You picked up the key logic so quickly.

Wow, I like the new constraint! My solve went mostly well at one hour or so. Early on, I forgot that one half of a line has all the lower digits or all the higher digits. (I thought a pair could have its own independent order.)

My first time seeing shift lines. Took me a while to fully understand the constraint. Once I got the high/low aspect of the lines in my head, it went pretty smoothly.

8:04 Haven't had the chance to watch your solve yet, but wow, great puzzle! The break-in felt like I was learning a fundamental technique of shift lines. Will definitely have to keep an eye out for it in the future if I see more shift lines

I'm not quite done yet given how busy I've been lately, but whew this has been _a puzzle_. Very enjoyable, but I've come back to it numerous times across numerous days now. I'm super lucky to have a bunch of amazing stuff continuing to happen after last week. I took my day to feel sad and have had sources of happiness since then to make it feel better and more approachable to do what I need to for any friends down there who need it.

Great puzzle! I love Clover's puzzles, she's probably my favorite setter.

I'm probably just being stupid but I'm having difficulty understanding what the bit of the rules saying "The line will be adjacent". I originally thought it meant the line would be adjacent to the virus (ie passing adjacent to it but not through it) but then it says the virus is included in the row of four so I am just a bit confused...

Great puzzle. Stumped me in the beginning but got it in a comfortable half an hour.
