I think it's not possible now
You're correct, a glitch in the functionning of megas made a lot of unrealistic raid challenges possible, including this one. You can still solo Moltres with rock types, but only Mega Blast won't work

Thanks. The internet is ok here. We tried a team of lucario and shadow machamp first but couldn’t do it. With shadow machamp we need to dodge the charge move which waste a bit of time. With lucario it can absorb the first draco meteor and turn it to back to back aura spheres. Which makes the duo possible. Lucario is the reason I enjoy fighting draco meteor moveset. 🤪

Hi, this was done a long time ago when megas were first introduced. There were a few unintended bugs where the megas were boosting themselves even in a solo. And the CP of that mega increased exponentially if you were to power up from the lowest level possible. Which is why this solo was possible. I did it on my first try not knowing if it were possible. Niantic has since fixed the bugs mentioned.
