Hi my name is Joan and I am a multi-hyphenate who is creative in every sense of the word. if that’s you then stick around ✨
this political comedy was ahead of its time
In this video, I discuss how Head of State parodies our US political system in the early 200s in grand comedic fashion. Head of State has been one my favorite movies of all time and I am excited to share my thoughts to the ether.

why road house (2024) didn't work
Переглядів 164Місяць тому
Road House (1990) has a special place in my heart and I wanted to share my thoughts on the rebooted version Road House (2024). This video was shelved from May of this year because I thought the video was all of the place but I think in hindsight I was not feeling confident about it. After rewatching, that version of Joan was cooking so I am sharing now! Please enjoy! Music by Remil - Evening Te...

You should watch Distinguished Gentleman starring Eddie Murphy… it does a better job to me to satirize all of electoral politics.
Go Shirley Chisholm!!!!
Joan I will be the first to tell you that I thought this same shit lol about the movie head of state
Keep looking. They hide the truth in plain view. Research name origin and Bible meaning and you'll be awake
Your top 5 is so good. Thank you for putting this together
Because it's about mystery and technology?

Beautiful, Keep❤ the good job
Ew
But where did she disappear too?? Season 25 came and went with no mention of her…
Do you think that Zola is easy to watch the second time? I feel like I loved the original Twitter thread was so attention grabbing and then when I watched the movie (which I liked !) but I felt that once you know the story, it'd be hard to watch because it doesn't seem to have that replayability. Did you find elements of the directing or acting you missed the second time that made it enjoyable to watch again?
Since I watched it with my bff the second time around, I found the story still funny and outlandish the second time. Also Colmon Domningo's performance specifically through me for a loop even more because I forgot how much he was a snake during this whole trip and that surprise Jamaican accent had me dying
gurll 41 is soo many movies, how do you found wat to watch? also new subbb i love ur content
thank you! I appreciate the support! normally I watch the apps I am subsribed to like netflix, prime video or hbo and I watch a lot of movies for down time or when I am doing some tasks! I also do rewatch a lot of movies which gives me comfort 😆
Eddie ❤ Flack 🔥
Yesterday, I started to randomly watch episodes from season 20 onwards. And looking at the cast I was complaining that I've never seen a black female Det on the show apart from the one from the inception season. Then lo and behold I get to S24 and here is Churlish. Who seems to have gotten even less episodes than the first. I see she's gone in S25. SMH!!!! This show used to be the sh*t back in the mid 2000s. Most diverse cast on television. I used to love me some SVU - (even though it can never be good as the original). But now it's just trash. Never liked Carisi's character and now he went to law school for two days and wow, now his the lead ADA for sex crimes. Just ridiculous.
dayyyim thats a big sheВооN right there
Just watched the movie based on your recommendations. As a sidenote, the audio is really one sided. One channel is just bein' passed through. Yeah, this movie is really great. The two main leads have really great chemistry and the main antagonist is surprisingly great. Her dynamic with the leads is setup and built up upon. There are two things thag made me love the villain. 1) She's very competent and I like how dynamic her relationship with her core friend group, especially the male cheerleader (I couldn't give remember his name), who always challenges her and I always think about that when he mentioned "they have the crowd, what do we have?". 2) Despite her vile attitudes, I always saw this undercurrent of vulnerability and I think back when the principal suggested that the main female lead should be captain and she thinks that her 'right hand woman' is suitable for the position, but gets torned down. Although, the ending to her dynamic with the protagonists is a bit quick to the end, but those three characters are my favorite of the movie. Although, the male love interest is fine. He had that one good scene in the beginning on the pool, but he's somewhat ancillary. But what made this movie is the two female leads. There are instances in the film that made me say, "Girl, I get now what you see in her and stand by her" and my favorite scene of them is the lead up to the audition scene where they feel anxious about the whole thing. If I were to ship two people in the Bring It On franchise, it would be them. Unlike you, I don't find this movie to be *that* campy. I just think that the comedy is so subtle and restrained so much that had me say, "Wow, I didn't expect that to make me chuckle". The scene that always gets me is the Rocky reference.
Another thing I'd like to add (can't be asked to edit my last post) it made sense for Whittier to choose the cheer team over Snake because he's only known her for like a minute. It's like choosing a 2nd date over your dream job, but her last straw was Monica, who's her long time best friend. It was also a different kind of 'choose them or choose me' situation, where Whittier couldn't ignore her injured friend.
I loved Bring it on Again, it's such a great movie, and although most of it has to do with nostalgia, it holds a special place in my heart since there aren't really many (and small amount might I add) sexual stuff nor is there any race related conflict, because I think we really need a break from that. I loved how fun and campy it was, and I always feel disappointed whenever people rank it under both 'Fight to the Finish' and 'In it to Win it'. I loved how Whittier and Monica were friends rather than enemies to friends, like All or Nothing and the first film. The dvd cover always confuses me because she's wearing a cheer suit that is never seen in the film. I do think there are some things they could've expanded on, like the teams. I understand that the first team is preppy, but they also have to deal with pressure that is inflicted on them by Tina. They could've explored the cultishness(?) behind that team. I think there was also a budget issue, judging by the camera quality.
loved this haha pls do more
