RUSH Limelight - Guitar Part, Samick Malibu Greg Bennett MB50
Quick video showing the hugely playable Samick MB50. Pretty cheap for a guitar, around £250 new. Duncan Designed pickups SSH, Wilkinson Tremolo, Angled Headstock, Fat-ish (fatter than Fender, anyway) fretboard in Rosewood. Well finished too!
Sound courtesy of Amplitube which, surprisingly, rocks - wouldn't give up my valves for it however..!

Quick video showing the enormous tone you can get out of the Rockinbetter Bass. This is one of the first series releases - straight through multi-ply neck, fat pickups and a HUGE TONE! Distortion courtesy of the Ashdown Hyper Drive, then compressed the hell out of! Guitar part is shown on a different video... Cheers

Quick look at a customised Yamaha RGX 321. Fast neck, great fun to play I would say great for shredding, but since I can't play fast enough I don't really know! Good locking trem that stays in tune. Pickups are fab, really clear, dynamic sound to them all with well defined bass, great for fat chugging metal. Similar to an Ibanez RGX550, definitely on a par with the new pickups! Ker-chunk!!

I have one and the neck is junk. Bought it new. The dealer and the company wouldn't replace. I Told them I would even buy a new neck, but they wouldn't sell me one. It goes out of tune by just resting your hand on the neck. The trust rod was checked. I had it set up at a place that knows what they're doing.I love the tone and like how it plays, just wish the neck wasn't so flexable.

In 1991 I bought a RGX321FP with the broken coloured shapes, a bit like the classic Van Halen design, from Foxes Music in Leeds on the Headrow in England (UK). I still use it to this day but it now needs a compete overhaul, e.g. new frets, tone and volume pots, jack socket. Like you I also replaced the stock pickups at the earliest opportunity, and I put two DiMarzio PAF PRO humbuckers in, but never got around to getting a suitable single coil for the middle position. I setup the guitar myself and like yours the intonation is perfect across every single fret including the 24th. The trem never goes out of tune and shows no sign of wear and tear. I would say this is definitely a Metal shredders guitar, because the clean tones are its weak point, although I get a nice Jazz sound from it. I feel it is too dark and powerful for Blues styles, and hence why it shines for Metal. There is so much bottom end that I have never needed to resort to detuning. +paul smith I really like the Rockinbetter, particularly because it addressed what many feel to be deficiencies with the 4001/4003 design - namely the antiquated bridge and the gigantic rear pickup surround w/faux cover.

it's surprising how well Tokai actually replicate guitars... they could do with better naming schemes though!! RockInBetter's probably one of their best... the 2 known for being a bit underrated that I know were: Fender P-Bass: (Tokai copied it and called it Hard Puncher (I personally would have chosen 'Face Puncher' or something of the like) Gibson Les-Paul: (Tokai built some and branded them LoveRock (again... improvement on naming... it's not too bad, though!!)) all in all... I tried a Tokai, and there are a few, like a strat copy I tried in a shop that play a little better than the originals!!

Some sound fairly similar, but some don't; however, they also have their own unique sound. It's sort've what you get for a copy, but I must say, these are crafted with a degree of expertise. The bridge doesn't lift like the majority of rickenbackers(which is a shame) and it's much easier to fix and access. Whenever someone buys a rickenbacker 4001/3 they end up changing the pickups and bridge, which goes to show there are still defects in the design of the bridge even with a 5 screw.

Yea a good reputation of copying well known instruments and making them as good as if not better than the thing they copied.. I've a Tokai Love Rock and it's a fraction of the price of a Les Paul and I dare say almost as good ;).. I may get one of these basses though as I'm a bassist these days..

I love this guitar! Bought the same one in 1993. Recently I changed all the PUps for Seymour Duncan and built in sustainer. Unfortunately I haven't got the video but it's the matter of time. The guitar really stays in tune after tweaking tremolo. Thanks for video!

Sounds great and am buying one of these basses myself shortly. Would like to hear it without the flanger though (or whatever effect you are using on it) as I don't think we're hearing the true sound of it.

I bought an RGX321FP in 1994, it is a good guitar with better pickups. Unfortunately, I smashed it to bits in 1999.
