9:28 Wow! I literally drive there everyday, that's crazy haha
I figured out it wasn't Taipei when I saw the street sign saying "2nd Road". Taipei doesn't number its roads like that; Taipei uses sections, as in "Sec. 2". Also, the phone number area code of 04 confirmed we weren't in Taipei; Taipei's is 02.
I knew it was Ecuador when I saw the donkey in the middle of the highway
4:01 You should at least know the name of the capitals of the countries
21:46 you went past the north Macedonian flag 💀
You wont always see a flag, hes trying to give you tips on how to guess it with as least info as possible
The south side contains more agriculture and forests while the north contains the bigger cities with less argiculutre
So how many lines is on the Spanish sign.
Lithuania not on geoguessr?
Ive just downloaded the geoguessr. I was told we cannot use Google or anything as itll lead to a ban. How are you able to use google for research etc?.
You can get banned when using google while dueling on ranked/unranked modes. It's completely fine to use all possible resources while playing singleplayer & learning (unless you are trying to beat a record of any kind - then it's not cool to cheat ;))
@@Drateffka cheers buddy
A tip for Chile, our secondary roads starts with a letter a go from A in the north to Y in the southest part of the country, so with that letter u can easily guest the latitude.
Where can we see that letter?
tysm for the informative video, was a good exercise trying to guess alongside you and learn
Man this video is so valuable. Thank you!
For anyone interested that Luxembourg bollard appears also in Germany and Switzerland yes but the Portugal one has a more diagonal black strip if I recall correctly. Switzerland is easily recognisable due to the camera sitting lower than every other county except Japan. Luxembourg used to be a fairly simple plonk until Germany got added more extensively. Now you've got some nasty 50/50s unless you know this quirky little tip: the white rectangle inside the black strip will be fixed with 3 nails/pins in Luxembourg. In Germany it wil be fixed with 2, but often not as visible. Obviously you wont always be able to see those pins though.
gen 4 sri lanka is also low cam i think
@@Aldurrr yes there is definitely some low cam in Sri not too sure which gen but it exists
Are you from the west country?
I’m struggling watching this as an Icelandic person 😭🤚
The albanian language uses the letter ë a lot
Also q
I have a good tip for distinguishing between montenegro and albania. First of all, obviously the license plate, but most importantly, the montenegrian language is slavic, albanian is not. Albanian is similar to turkish, and montenegro is much greener than albania. Im czech, so maybe distinguishing slavic languages is easier for me Thank you for this amazing video, helped a lot ❤
The yellow double lines in NZ mean no overtaking. I don't know if many other countries have double center lines?
In Taiwan, almost every building structure has an "address plate" (~15cm x ~10cm, normally white on blue background) fixed on its facade. There is county/city name, street name, and number on it. Some big buildings even custom made theirs on larger plates. In unban areas, unfortunately, most plates are blocked by signs, decorations, etc. In rural areas, they are more visible from streets. At ua-cam.com/video/uem3oBgiFzo/v-deo.html , if you zoom in those houses, you may be able to see those plates.
Its great how you keep the wrong guesses for learning, instead of just showing off the 5k's! <3
So excited for the geoguessr deep dive ive gotten decent based off architecture and landscape but theres so many tricks I need to be able to be consistent
Nice detective work, and very entertaining.
r4 my first thought was Cambridge. so why didn't I guess there. doh
7:40 you can actually distinguish Reality Food between slovenia and Montenegro, if you have Rifts in the sky ist will be Montenegro
Nice guess in Islamabad!
That sign you saw on the last round which was in the middle of the bend had the name of the Fjord on it ;) Also your Icelandic pronunciation is very good. Often wrong, but for someone who doesn't speak it you've got the right idea about how it works, which is to mostly pronounce every letter properly and not skip letters or put little emphasize on them.
Great stuff! I've just embarked on my own GeoGuessr journey. Thanks for bringing the hints and tips websites to my attention!
Really appreciate that, thank you! It's a long journey but great when you start picking up on more obscure details! Good luck :)
nice video! I really learned something from this video
Much appreciated, thank you for watching!
Colour me impressed! Pro-tip: There's no double m in Spanish. Spanish spelling is very phonetic, the only consonants that can be doubled are l and r, and then they stand for distinct sounds.
also doubled n in some words
Can you give any examples?
@@Oznej innegable
Great tip that, thank you!

Mongolia next?
I've had to take a mini GeoGuessr break but I'll be back on it soon! Mongolia..... I'll reluctantly add it to the list :D
What a good effort! next time, try to make your webcam not cover where you type.
I know, big mistake on my end that I realised during editing. Next time the camera will be out of the way!
🎉
Another fun video, with some impressive rounds! Fun to see you picked up on the need to zoom out on the French round, most of the locations on the map are in places visible on a pretty zoomed out level. With a better seed I am sure you will be shaving several minutes off your PB.
Thank you! Yeah that French round is very gettable if you approach it right - the great thing about this map is that every location needs a different 'strategy'.
Church Street was on the screen about a dozen times!
Yeah it's painful watching it back and seeing Church Street pop up!
18:35 The sign you looked at said "Frachtzentrum Bern" which was a dead giveaway.
I should have noticed this - too much skim reading! Thank you!
At 17:40 you could see the "Frachtzentrum Bern".
I have a habit of skimming over information like that, so easy to miss when it's halfway down a sign - thank you!
The Binnenhof sign on the first game refers to the Government complex in Den Haag. Sadly, Rotterdam was destroyed during WW2 and now has post-war architecture, not ornate old buildings.
Great information, thank you! Admittedly I should have remembered about Rotterdam, I've been there 2 times - I was mixing it up with Utrecht, completely forgetting that Rotterdam has post war architecture.
nice video man knowing that logo thing was birmingham was nice
Thank you for watching!
“The Moon Under Water” features in George Orwell’s “The Road to Wigan Pier”. Hence the homage by this Wigan pub which is near the “pier”. The pub in the book was described as in some ways idyllic and has inspired several with that name outside Wigan too.
That's a really cool bit of information, thank you!
The cacti were a clue for Sardinia
Good point, thank you for the tip!
4:55 You were looking right at a speed limit sign... 15:54 That rusty ladder pole is Turkey exclusive. Then at 16:00 that "F" shaped pole with the elaborate framework is, too. 20:10 You referred to Luxembourg meta a couple of times; what exactly did you see? 20:35 Austrian version usually has a nipple on top whereas in Slovenia it rarely does. You can see this one in Serbia and N. Macedonia too.
Thanks for these tips, really helpful! The speed limit signs I'm still getting my head around, I know Canada uses km/h so I'm guessing you're not going to have 25 signs in Canada. Good to know about those Turkey poles, I'll try and remember that! For Luxembourg, those bollards are somewhat unique to Luxembourg (with the white dash). I think you can occasionally see them in other countries (e.g. Switzerland) but those bollards combined with the landscape can only be Luxembourg. By nipple do you mean the black part on top? Both Austria and Slovenia both have the black bit, but that Austria sometimes has black dashes instead of red. My big mistake in that round was the yellow sign in the distance (which Austria doesn't have) and the road quality - I paid too much attention to the scenery in that one!
@@geotelloth3933 Canada = "MAXIMUM" USA = "SPEED LIMIT" Bonus: In Oregon, sometimes it just says "SPEED"
@@geotelloth3933 I'm the rando who just added you to my friends list BTW. Colonel Ives
All great tips, thank you! Added you!
I just played you and you abosutely destroyed everyone lmao, crazy good!
Thank you! :)
4:05 *staring at BUENOS AIRES* *zooms into Chile* "...perhaps we are in Mexico"
Haha, oops! Don't know how I missed that at the time, though I do have a tendency to glaze over obvious info. Thanks for pointing it out!
Well played! The way you scrolled into the Recife roundabout was exactly how I found it when I picked the location.
Did you handpick every location?! Incredible if so, that must have been a lot of work!
@@geotelloth3933 Yes they are all handpicked tp ensure there are good hints and interesting things to look at. Took a bit of time but I really enjoy the mapmaking process.
@@slobben Amazing, well done and thanks again!
Thanks for playing my map! It was fun to watch you decipher the hints, also cool that you got a flag in pretty much every round.
Thanks for creating the map! I'm really enjoying playing it, for sure going to be doing more videos on it!
Nice video, I've been grinding Christmas island recently. I have to tell you that sometime in the past year they must have added a bunch of the annoying locations that occur today. These can include water locations, spots like trekker/trail roads are are impossible to 5k, along with increased frequency of roads such as north/south baseline or east/west baseline which are super tough to 5k as well. I wish they would remove water locations and any locations that aren't actually on a road. Took me probably 75 attempts to get a 5k in 18 minutes, then hundreds more to get a 25k in 1 min 48 seconds. I did get it eventually though :)
Thank you! That's interesting, I didn't know they'd added those locations but come to think of it I did come across one of the boat ones in a Battle Royale game recently. Congrats on such a good score and time!
Fun map. The Recife one had the name of the park on the same sign with the city name, that's how I found it.
Great spot, watching back I see it now!
Doagh is pronounced Doak. Not that it matters really, but still...
Thanks for the correction!
Thanks for the video! A great way to learn together with you.
Thanks for watching!
Nice one! I just checked and my best time on this map is 29:29 so I need to improve that! edit: I've now got it down to 13:47, but you're still quicker :)
13:47 is a great time, well done! Thanks for watching :)
