this footage makes it feel like there were like no people back then
Why couldn't they just leave the engines noisy in F1 😢
Unbeliveble footage
Monaco so classy then, now the tunnel area is all built up.
hi
What incredible footage. I would love to have taken a walk around Monaco in the 60's.
I preferred driving oldschool handel Gear)))
It took me like an hour to watch this because I kept pausing and going back to look at all the little details in every scene.
Crazy to see the drivers helmets sticking up above the primitive roll bars.....its like it was only put in for the rules or style.
Security measures continue to be conspicuous by their absence even in 1962 !! A year before there was a massacre in Monza when von Trips died in a crash with Jim Clark, killing 14 members of the public. They seem to be unaware of that....
Omg that's Burl Ives narrating, isn't it?
I've never seen this old footage before. Very cool, so much has changed! 🏁
How beautiful Monaco was at that time comparing to nowadays.
The narrator was spot on about how the drivers are risking their lives so we gain in tomorrow. Safety advancements have come a long way since then but I do still prefer these cars over the new ones.
Wonderful footage!
At 3:20 the # 40 car skids and the announcer says, "That's Phil Hill... last year's champion." Phil HIll never won at Monaco. Sterling Moss won the previous two years.
Monaco looked so beautiful back then.
F1 was a much better sport back then.❤
It’s wild seeing them go side by side next to the water with no guardrail or safety barriers… just all concrete and bricks and death, damn
Damm bro did Phil hill dirty
holy fuck the engines
Precioso
5:45 mOOD
Race starts at 1:35
wow they captured multiple of porsches there, during their brief foray into f1
Non è il Gp del 1962 ua-cam.com/video/6ox31I9Ps28/v-deo.html
4:10 Absolutely insane, no guardrail just bollards and lamp posts to keep you from going into the ocean.
Now this is real racing. No strategy and no tyre bullshit. The man who drives tge fastest wins. The man who risks his life the furthest wins.
NO protection. Damn, just a bar behind your head. This is amazing footage by the way.
Just one of the gems of the triple crown.
Woah the cinematography is fantastic!
0:49 🇬🇧 Trevor Taylor followed by 🇺🇸 Dan Gurney 1:21 🇳🇿 Bruce McLaren actually 1:24 🇺🇲 Richie Ginther 1:29 🇺🇸 Phil Hill 1:51 🇸🇪 Joakim/Jo Bonnier 2:18 🇿🇦 Tony Maggs(?) and 🇮🇹 Lorenzo Bandini 2:44 🇬🇧 Jackie Lewis(Who didnt start so I'm not sure what he is doing here) 2:55 🇸🇪 Joakim/Jo Bonnier, 🇺🇲 Phil Hill and either 🇳🇿 Bruce McLaren or 🇿🇦 Tony Maggs 3:08 🇸🇪 Joakim/Jo Bonnier, 🇺🇸 Phil Hill and 🇮🇹 Lorenzo Bandini 3:13 🇬🇧 Innes Ireland? 3:20 Thats 🇧🇪 Willy Mairesse actually and the guy who couldnt get through seems to be 🇬🇧 Trevor Taylor 3:54 🇸🇪 Joakim/Jo Bonnier 5:14 The last car seems to be Number 20(🇬🇧 Trevor Taylor) but its a Cooper-Climax so its probably either 🇳🇿 Bruce McLaren or 🇿🇦 Tony Maggs 5:25 🇨🇭 Jo Siffert and 🇲🇽 Pedro Rodríguez de la Vega 5:28 🇬🇧 John Surtees and 🇨🇭 Jo Siffert 6:19 🇳🇿 Bruce McLaren and I think🇦🇺 Jack Brabham(What is he doing there since they raced for different Teams at the time and Sir Jack didnt even finish? I dont know!) in the Podium 6:42 🇳🇿 Bruce McLaren
Amazing pictures!
The most beautiful footage ever!
OMG the quality of this footage is amazing! Why they could not record all f1 Gran Prix from the 60s-70s with this quality? If There were cameras capable of this definition, it could have been very possible!
I'm so used to grainy 60s footage that seeing 60s HD footage is so surreal. I have to keep reminding myself that this is what people actually saw back then.
I know right? I'm struggling to comprehend that people in the 60s didn't see the world in blurry , shaky, grainy colors haha
I would love to watch entire races of this quality from the 60’s. I can see why my grandpa missed those racing years
Que legal. O paranauê era na rua mesmo, praticamente sem proteção, sem guard-rail nenhum, isso que é corrida raiz.
They need to mandate that F1 cars must this size and style for Monaco. The new cars don't fit on the track together and it's impossible to overtake
I always wonder why they did not figure out spoilers and bumperkits backt then.
Just astonishing footage. Well done!

Incredible footage
Amazing to think of the quantic leap in technology Formula One did from 1962 to 1972. I am not sure this radical change that took place in only 10 years was ever repeated. And to think one driver, Graham Hill bridged that gap.
I have made a musical background for this video for my college assignment. Would you like to see it and is it ok to post on either your youtube channel or mine for people to see/hear?
SOUL
when you dont see the chicane you know its old
Simplemente, hermosas imágenes. Muchas gracias. Saludos de Argentina.
Safety car parked on the right 4 seconds in?
Breathtaking footage
