While serving at Ft Campbell in 87 I got an opportunity to go to an air 60 range and all I can say is I'm in complete awe of anyone who actually did that in combat

It's a shame that they killed nose art. When I retired the only thing that was permissible was a name that an 0-5 or above approved.

My pop still has moments, im 44 and i know when hes remembering things...he still has his scrapbooks with photos of the guys who didn't make it...his awards in a box, his dress jacket that at 12 i could wear. I understand soldier 🫡

At a Pop A Smoke reunion in San Diego I found the helicopter I crewed in Viet Nam with HMM 165. The bird still belonged to HMM 165. It was like a reunion with a family member! I recognized the Falstaff beer can bukllet hole patches immediately!
