I think the rings can be quite useful with this trial as there's so much happening and attacks are often coming from behind you while you focus on another enemy. I liked the Timely Focus one as it gives you more time to react to things but you still have to do the dodge yourself. If you are after completing the story, I'ld say give one of these rings a go, and you can always redo the trial in the Arete stone and try it without the ring.

@@lanah_tyra I destroyed the trial just by using the charge + 4 hit combo repeatedly, that was the only tip I needed haha. Ive reached the stage where I find the combat so repetitive that I just did the full omega DLC with that timely ring equipped. Sounds like FF mode will improve the combat so I just wanna get to that.

@CraigEmpson yeah it's impressive how far the simple charge combo can get you 😂 I don't do hard mode usually but really liked FF mode in this one. Need to get back into it and finish my platinum, but still playing through Rebirth.

I liked DT in general, but I get it what problems people have with it, and it's true that some changes need to be made to the game to keep it enjoyable. Was sceptical about the mobile at first, but I really liked what we saw of it so far, and hopefully if it receives positive feedback and things work out, then we can see similar stuff in the main game as well.

My house is in Shirogane and I love the sunset! Other favourite is Mist because of the sun and beach vibes. Totally agree on the Crystarium! Maybe if not actual area, but we could get a themed interior with the new system we got. Would love a Pendants themed house

It's a reset for the entire game. And if this mobile version sees any kind of success, the current version will likely be wound down in an effort to shift the game entirely to mobile. Profit > passion. Obviously that will upset a lot of players, but Square Enix doesn't listen to their players so it won't matter. They listen to Cha-ching 💸🤑🤑

Yes! "book smack" is a nice meme, but honestly useless, unless you are in the melee phase with RDM or having to stand on top of the boss for a mechanics. Ranged auto attack would make more sense.

I agree, didn't mean as the developer of mobile fixing issues, more like they might have got some insight into what SE's plans are for 8.0 and they already work with those in mind.

Some of the animations indeed look a lot better, would be nice to see them brought over to the main game. Yeah I feel like at some point a level squish will be inevitable, and putting the 1-2-3 combo on one button would be a good way to reduce the amount of buttons and make space for more new abilities.

Hey, I'm on Odin.

Made the graphics in Photoshop. The font is Jupiter Pro, which is very similar to the ingame font used for duty and location names (I think they use a modified Jupiter Pro). I used the colour picker to get the font colour closest to the ingame one, and used inner / outer shadow effects on it to give it some texture. You can also try to play around with the bevel and emboss setting if you want to get that 3D-ish fill for the letters.

You need a flying enemy for it. Use the Eikon ability Phoenix Shift (the one which dashes you to the enemy, circle on the default controller layout) and while you dash use magic attack(triangle on the default controller layout). You have to do it twice to get the time bonus. It was one of the tricky ones to get, during my normal runs on the trial, I didn't even get to do this, as I was usually focusing on the easier techniques. I had to specifically focus on doing it for the recording. So unless you want to get the time bonus for all techniques used in a run, I wouldn't stress too much about it.

Launch an enemy a flying enemy works fine. Or do a charged magic shot on a downed enemy to launch them. Then do phenix shift and press ur magic button and hold it for a charged magic shot. U can also do phoenix shift and press magic and then press and hold it again if ur high up so u don't miss the relaunch The shift shot in the air will spike them to the ground and then the charged magic shot will launch them back up. Then do Phoenix shift and press magic again to spike them and u can even do another charged magic shot to relaunch them but u cant do another Phoenix shift. Instead do a downthrust. This is good during the stage with the cannon dude. In ff mode final trials there is two birds and the cannon guy opens with the charge and his normal fire spells won't hit u while u just yo yo the flyers for easy kills. U can also do this against the first boss. The Garuda one on final trials After she does specific attacks she kinda rises a little bit. That's when u can do the double shift u don't even need to charge shot after u can just stomp and do another one. It's also a good time on the first boss Guarda to use the rising ability during this stage to get both finishers if the boss is almost dead. Against normal small enemies u can do burning blade in the air to launch them even if they are not downed and then stomp into the shift shot charged magic combo. Or if the target is knocked down u can do a charged magic shot to launch them. Then u can do ur normal stuff.

@@lanah_tyra I tried but it doesn't work, I press circle to dash towards a flying enemy and then I press triangle, then I dash again and press triangle again before touching the ground but nothing... I would like to try to use all the bonuses in the challenges to have extra seconds for the next phases.

@@Simon_Fenix it might be worth to try one of the other controller setups, as I noticed with the magic burst combo, that for me having to move my finger from circle to triangle, I was always late. Swapped it to the one where the magic is on L1. You could try that, and press the circle and L1 almost at the same time, very very quickly after each other.

Hey, of course happy to help! So in that speedkill I used Lost Excellence just before the traps appeared, this gives a 6s invulnerability so I could just run through, ignoring the traps. It also gives a long damage buff after, so was perfect for Bahamut. By skipping that trap maze you save a lot of time and can just focus on DPS. The boss died before the next traps would appear. Use Excellence on 1st boss to boost your opener, then don't use it again there. I had a HP auto-potion just for safety but don't think you really need it. Use Perception to find the trap before the duel, then swap it out to Dispel. I had Phoenix up at the beginning of the duel, used my pot and Searing Light buff Use Dispel when the boss casts Surge of Vigor. Use Excellence before the traps and run through the traps. Got Bahamut up here. Still had to do Focused Tremor mechanics. Swap Dispel for Perception. If you have a bit lover damage you use this Perception to resolve the next trap mechanics, boss definitely should die after. Then use Perception to find the last trap before the exit. There is a way to kill him even before the first trap maze, but that uses a lot of actions so you don't have that much damage boost for the rest of the bosses. So I found this loadout to be a good balance between speed/safety/damage in overall. For the rest of the bosses I had: 1x Font of Magic 2x Banner of Honoured Sacrifice 1x Mimic Reraiser and Ether kit to comfort. I could keep an opener with Excellence for the next 2 bosses, then used Mimic to get Excellence and Font of Magic from someone for the last boss.

Rift slip was probably the hardest ability in the entire game for me to understand so you are not alone :D If you use it after a melee attack or ability, it cancels out the short animation lock you are in so you are less likely to get hit by something. If you are not focusing on getting a full bonus clear, you can just ignore rift slip and get extra time with the other tactics. On my first clear I didn't use rift slip at all, was just forcing my way through it with the dash ^^'

I'm sure there are people who love the challenge of completing it without the timely ring and use more skill specific accessories instead, but if you just want to complete it and you are bad at dodging like me, then the timely ring is amazing.

@@lanah_tyra I completed titan trial without the ring. That's before I found this video. But the Phoenix trial was literally impossible without it because of the cannon guy. But because of the ring, I didn't have to keep my eyes on him or anyone else. I just finished the game yesterday on final fantasy mode. The game overall is pretty easy without the ring. But it's pretty hard to complete the trials without it.

@@thai33oz Titan is not my favourite, I'm more the caster type so I prefer Bahamut. Struggled a lot with Titan XD And I agree the canon guy at Phoenix is very annoying

Square fucked up this one... Odin was always one of the best eikons in Final Fantasy games but on this one, only Zantetsuken makes real damage and it takes ages to get the bar at lvl 5. This is the worst I’ve seen for along time. It’s boring to spam square button during 4mn... I don’t know what was on their mind but they probably were drunk or high...

It's cool that's ruined by the playstyle unfortunately, like look how cool Zantetsuken is!

I think it really depends on your preferred playstyle. I struggled a lot with Titan as I don't really use those skills. Bahamut and Ramuh were the easiest for me.

I feel you, it's not easy to use Odin but that lvl5 Zantetsuken damage is so satisfying. Did you manage to clear the trial?
