WE ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT, CHASED OFF THE WATER BY HUGE STORM !!
In this video I head to Barrys Bay Ontario to visit my buddy Steve for his birthday and check out his new fishing boat.
The old boat came out of storage and fired up without any issues. We took both boats out for a tour knowing we had a short window due to the approaching storm. We made the decision to head back early based on the radar which proved to be the right choice as the storm hit just as we stored the boats away.
The truck tent held up well during back to back rain storms. This was the most intense rainfall I have had the truck tent in so far and it proved to itself well.
This wasn't a planned filming adventure but turned out o be an awesome adventure in the end. I may have bought myself a new (used) boat !!
Thanks for watching.

HEAVY RAIN DESTROYED TENT WINDOW
Переглядів 86День тому
In this video I test my fifteen year old MARMOT LIMELIGHT 2 lightweight backpacking tent. I have used this tent for many years in a variety of weather conditions and have been very pleased with its performance to date, however not in this much rain. This tent has one small plastic window which I have had reservations about for years. Well, my fears came true when the window came apart in the st...
NEW TRUCK TENT SET UP // BUILD and TOUR
Переглядів 30521 день тому
In thIs video I give a tour of our new Nissan Titan truck tent rig. Two weeks ago I traded in the Jeep wrangler and was on the hunt for a truck bed rack. I found this THULE rack used for $160. At first I wanted to keep the tonneau cover on but we both prefer it off which makes it easier to get to gear in the bed. I did order a cargo net which you will see in an upcoming video. I have been plann...

HAMMOCK CAMPING SET UP IN POURING RAIN
Переглядів 170Місяць тому
In this video I set up a hammock with tarp to test during a rain storm. I specifically wanted to try out this gear in the rain before I head out on an adventure. I set up at home so I could work out exactly what I need for this type of adventure as hammock camping is relatively new to me. With the addition of the bug net I think I will be good to go. Although this wasn't a backwoods adventure I...
LAKE TROUT in ONTARIO // FIRST LAKE TROUT in YEARS !!!
Переглядів 312Місяць тому
In this unexpected video I finally caught a decent size LAKE TROUT. This wasn't meant to be a fishing video as we were enjoying our annual camping weekend at SILVER LAKE PROVINCIAL CAMPGROUND. I went for an early morning kayak and decided to bring the fishing rod and of course a camera. After a few hours of paddling I decide to head back to camp with one stop along the shoreline with a deep dro...
PIKE FISHING SEASON OPENING DAY !
Переглядів 1462 місяці тому
On this adventure I head to Barrys Bay Ontario for Pike Fishing opening day. Steve, Jack and myself head to a secret location where the two of them had some great fishing last year. The journey took us through a shallow swamp, up and over two beaver dams to reach our location. The weather was perfect with a slight overcast, light winds and very little bugs. We fished for about six hours with a ...
I BOUGHT A THIRTY YEAR OLD FIBREGLASS CANOE....WILL IT FLOAT?
Переглядів 1122 місяці тому
In this video I test out a New/Used canoe that is estimated to be thirty years old based on what the family recalls. This canoe is a CADORETTE 14 ft. fibreglass canoe. Thanks to Angela who found this online, we jumped at the opportunity tight away. When these boats were first sold they retailed around $1500 CDN. I got the boat for less than a third of the price. There is only a few scratches, o...
I HAD THE ENTIRE LAKE TO MYSELF ! // CAMPING // FISHING
Переглядів 3842 місяці тому
In this video I head to Wabun Lake in the Calabogie area. It was a rainy start but the forecast was looking promising for the evening and following day. After setting up camp the wind and rain stopped. It turned into a beautiful evening, I even caught a couple of of fish to start the season. Although I didn't have any luck while fly fishing it was nice to get in the water and cast the line. Aft...

CROWN LAND CAMPING ESSENTIALS // WHAT TO BRING !
Hi Chris I’m going solo camping/first time camping in a few weeks in the Sierra Nevadas. It’s a proper campsite but I’m nervous about black bears in the area. I was planning on snacking in my tent, making s’mores, etc. How would one go about storing food and tent snacking?
Great question. Rent a cabin ! Kidding. First of all you should never have any food in your tent, even the smallest amount could attract hungry critters large and small. Keep your food and scented products in a bag and suspend them from a rope over a line between two trees if possible, or keep the food a good distance away from your tent. I cook on the campfire all the time (including s’mores)and I clean my dishes right away or keep them away from the tent where my food would be, usually in my vehicle. As for the larger animals (bears) I recommend getting some bear spray which has proven to be effective, make sure you are given directions from the retailer and read the instructions. Typically if a campground is busy you don’t often have issues with bears but anything can happen, not to scare you. The only item I have in my tent is water. There are bear proof containers available which is also an option. I hope this was helpful and I wish you an awesome camping trip. Feel free to message me with any other questions. Let me know how it goes !! The Sierra Nevadas is on my list also !! Happy camping ⛺️
That's the coolest boat ever!
666 lol
Well i love the el capitan it's prob the most over built tent ever made they make a mountain pass now that zips up all the way on the inner like you're tent and they advertise it as a4 season tent. The el capitan could easily be advertised as a for season tent as well
Great video
Thank you, hope it is helpful
I use the old (1962) coleman liquid fuel stove now, fuel is way cheaper, it works better in wing or cold weather. I have used propane and butane stoves, but I like the old coleman best for car camping.
Supplies on the island arrive by ship. If you are in a situation where it's rough water (red flag beach) every day, count on supplies to run low. The supply ship can't cross the sand bar into the marina area becasue of breaking waves. I've seen this happen several times over the years.
The El Cayito "Lobby Bar" (@ the 7:55 mark in your video) is open 24 hours. For a price, they occasionally have some really high end Cognac at that bar.
Interesting transition at 4:40 in the video. Before it was rough water, too rough for snokeling. But once the amigo at the Chiringuito beach bar handed you your Cuba Libre, the water was intantly clam. Green flag. Get out the snorkel gear!
Thanks for the video. I just bought one. Haven't used it yet. Looks handy as well as the adjustable fuel will be easier than my coleman single burner. Ps...I eat out of the pan. Saves on dishes and food stays hot longer.
Great video! But it doesn’t look wide enough. Arms hanging over. But looks like a good product!!
It may not look sufficient in the video however I didn't find there to be an issue, especially if your arms are in the sleeping bag.
thank you this is very useful :)!
That’s my goal, hope it helps. Thank you for watching !
VERY cool!!!
What's stoves/cooktop do you use? What's the shelter/canopy you use?
We have about six different camp stoves depending on the adventure, I have a video on the stoves I use. The pop out shelter is made by WOODS from Costco last year.
Thanks for the test/review. I have this tent as well. Sadly Eureka is going out of business and parent company is discontinuing their products. I like this tent so much I just ordered the newer model before its gone for good, Whatever stock they have left will sell out soon and never be replaced. Buy while you can. Thanks again.
Thank you for watching, sad as they have decent products
What kind of fuel does that little stove use?
It uses white gas “camp fuel”
@@adventurechristv613 Thank you. I have to get me one of those.
@charlesh1735 it’s made by Coleman, works great
Our family of 6 is headed to Smoky Mountains in Tennessee in a few days. I haven't tent camped since Boy Scout days (over 30 years ago) and I'm honestly a little nervous m😅 Thanks for the tips and advice! Subscribed! 👍🏻
Thank you very much, my goal is to encourage and help people get out and enjoy camping and nature, much appreciated! Any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
How to unistall this? Is it easy?
Yes very easy.
Which air mattress is that?
It is the HYBERN8 by ECOTEK, from amazon
Thank you so much. I have been thinking of things I wanted to try. Camping is definitely one of those things thank you for posting this video.
Thank you watching and I hope this helps. You can find all the gear you need used to save money. I hope you get out to try some camping.
What suction cups/brand are you using?
I ordered them on Amazon, not sure the brand name.
what excursion was that? I wanna do it
We booked it through the hotel, it is the Catamaran Sunset Cruise. We purchased it on the plane before landing and got a discount then brought the voucher to the resort tour group to book a day and time.
Hi, I'm going there in a month, where do you get the scooters, how much does it cost and what are their availability? TSYMMMM
Lighting
Yes good point, I will mention it in my next video, thank you!
Good one again✌thanks!
Thank you !
I Like The Tents What Brand Are They...Great Video...
The orange one is made by Marmot, the blue one is made by Sierra Designs. Thank you for watching.
Explore explore explore…..
Good luck with the new rig
Very nice! I bet the ride is a lot smoother😂 I love my Jeep Wrangler but I swear the suspension is comparable to a bus
Makes a good necklace loop
Well done Chris! I like that lightweight table. I've been thinking about getting something like that, bending down all the time to cook gets old fast! Who makes yours? Cheers, Ron.
It’s made by Sportneer, mine is fabric top with poles to give it some rigidity, they also make one with aluminum folding top which is more sturdy I think, both on Amazon, worth the extra little bit to bring.
Thank you for making the assembling process very easy!
Thank you for watching!
😂😂😂 well done!
You really deserve much more subscribers! Great helpful content and great explaining! Thanks Chris!👍
It’s a work in progress, thank you for the positive feedback, much appreciated! 🙏
The right info I needed to start! Thank you!!🙏
Glad to help, thanks for watching!
Great vid!! Thank you!👍
How did this hold up over time? I noticed that in your video less than one month from this one being posted that they aren't in your jeep. I'm wondering if I need to find a strong alternative to them staying on the freedom panels (my Jeep is a 2020 and it has grooves on the panels).
I just come back from Cayo Santa Maria and there are a lot of abandonned hotels there. Memories Paraiso and Grand Muthu are partly abandoned. There are more but it was too hot to walk on the beach to visit them. These hotels have been build in 2011.
Seems like the Décathlon one is cheaper and easier to assemble, but perhaps more bulky
Not sure if it's because it's new but geez you need a lot of strength to push one end in and to close the lever, not sure if the wife can assemble it herself
String goes on a yoyo, or around your finger as a reminder, you are using cordage.
I was going to say the same.
Do you have more info on the element made for the dish to keep their water from freezing? That would be so handy during Iowa winters. Love your video!
I will check with my spouse and get back to you. Thank you for watching !
I do quite a bit of all season solo camping up near the N Mn\Canadian I'm 6'4 235 in the market for something light breaks down (I'm notorious for overpacking my 100L osprey lol) that thing looks nice and sturdy only 5lbs , I sleep on my side curled up so the overall length isn't deal breaker my current folder is a monster time to upgrade , Thanks for the upload bro .
Quick suggestion, you could have guy-lined through your wheels which would have allowed you to be able to still open the rear doors as needed
Good suggestion! Thanks hanks
Wish I saw this years ago 😂
This one can also be done by using one hand as an "anchor" and tying with the other, It's really simple that way.
Is that guy you are fishing with a movie star?
What is the brand of the air mattress?
The brand is Ecotech, the model is the Hybern8, purchased on Amazon.
I tried the suction caps, but they kept popping off periodically. For me it’s been a fail. Good idea but.
Hello. A couple of questions. 1-were you attaching to a smooth surface, 2-was the surface wet, 3-did you press the cup against the surface before flipping the tab. I understand that there can only be so much force put on them. I used them in my most recent camping video and they held up all night. Hope this helps.
thanks for doing this test. So, normally speaking, you still set up a tarp above the tent?
I always bring a tarp, compact and light weight, even if it’s not needed I bring one
