AWESOME DAM White Bass Fishing! #fishing #whitebass #fishingadventure
In this video, Dave and I are catching the white bass as well as a few largemouth. They were hitting all over the lake, especially at the dam. This lake is in a major drought which has made the fishing really tough.

Insta360 RS Twin Edition - Will I Make the Switch
Will any grease gun work on those fittings ? Or is there a special fitting you need to add on to the end of the grease gun for it to fit and work ?
It’s the standard fitting that’s on most guns you buy
Where do you get all the parts from?
I got mine online at Lakeside Marine. You can call or chat with them and give them the serial number to your motor that way you get the right parts the first time.
I had mines doing that like 3 weeks ago, I turned it off for a couple of minutes and then back on and it stopped doing it. I think I’ve been on the water twice since and haven’t had an issue. I think there’s a new update available but I haven’t had time to so do. But I’m glad I found your video. Thank you!
Aceite al freno magnético???? 😮
So your solution is to call garmin?
100% that’s my solution. They sent me a new transducer and I haven’t had an issue since.
This is why you update every time when one comes out all the guys having issues try to force 2, 3 or 4 updates at one time..just update each time and you will be fine
To whoever is having issues with transferring data onto a new fish finder: ignore his step about creating a Garmin folder containing the .gpx data. Simply drag and drop the .gpx file directly into the SD card. Otherwise the fish finder will not detect any files on the USB card!
I had my Garmin Live Scope professionally installed. I am using one single 8 gauge sea clear power cable from a dedicated lithium battery. My Live Scope started acting up this summer. I could be on a flat bottom area of the lake in 8 foot of water and the screen showed a 45 degree bottom. I knew this was incorrect. I played in the menu with the pitch angle, and made it better, but was not satisfied. 2 months ago, I made my first software update. This update helped for a while, then the screen acted up again. My local installer told me of another Garmin update a few weeks ago, and now it is working excellent again. I am no IT computer expert, but it baffles me how when we get our boats set up perfectly, then a year or two later everything goes crazy. It is almost like there is some form of manufacturer planned obsolescence in the software of our electronics to keep us spending additional money. Why would a device that is well cared for by its owner, that is not connected to any internet network begin to fail? These electronic devices should work endlessly until there is a failure of some electrical component. I do enjoy my Garmin Live Scope.
Snagging is definitely illegal....
Keeping a fish that’s been snagged is actually what is illegal. You can’t keep from accidentally foul hooking one. This fish is clearly hooked in the mouth as well as the tail so I’m not sure how a game warden would treat this one. My guess is it would be a legal to keep but I’m not sure.
@freaknfishn in Maine snagging a fish in any manner could result in a fine or loss of license. It's your duty as the license hilder not to be using something that can potentially snag a fish. So no my vote is still on the side of you being in the wrong... easy to find out send this video to your game wardens
@smalkglass9869 a single hook can snag a fish. It’s happened to me. You’re absolutely not losing your license over that in any state unless you’re doing it on purpose or you’re keeping the fish. The law may state “you could lose your license” but if you accidentally hook one and throw it back, you’re probably not even getting fined. Like I said, there’s nothing you can do about foul hooking a fish in 10ft of water every once in a while. You remove the hook and throw the fish back. That’s it. Wardens aren’t out to get you just to get you
@@freaknfishn send the video to your game warden
Where’s the wires that connect to the brushes in the front plate? You also aren’t supposed to remove the armature through the front, I broke wires watching your video, the correct way is to remove it from the back! You must have a old model
Are you able to scan when you are riding the boat?
Having the same problem and just uploaded the new update. The update didn't help at all. Thanks.
I’m pretty sure those updates a while back fried the transducers. I called Garmin and got mine replaced. It was years old too. They made the mistake and they should correct it. Call them and tell them you want it replaced. Garmin should be ashamed of themselves over all of this. Next time mine goes out it’ll be fish structure at the bottom of the lake and I’ll buy Lowrance
How often I should replace lvs34 transducer on a regular basis? Talked to guy who fished BPT, he said all the scopers replace transducer and a screen every six months, because picture burns out. Unfortunately I cannot compare brand new transducer to my two years old one.
The fact that question even needs to be asked is pathetic if you ask me. To be blunt I’m no longer a fan of Garmin. I’ll never buy another fishing product they sell. This whole thing with the transducers has been a fiasco. The company should be ashamed of themselves. Sorry for the rant. To answer your question, I had my first transducer for over 5 years and had no issues until I ran an update. You shouldn’t have to replace it.
I've had mine since lvs34 came out, and I dont have any issues. Every 6 months sounds like they have too much money and just want new all the time. (Waste)
My guess is most of the scopers on the BPT aren’t paying for those transducers either.
@@freaknfishn Yes, correct, they do not pay, they are sponsored.
Yep
Nice catch
Thanks!
What time of year was this?
Early spring maybe. It’s been a good while back
Having the same issue after a recent update, recalibrated it twice and each time it stops the “rocking” for about 30 mins. Emailed Garmin two weeks ago and still waiting to hear something back. I feel it's a software issue as opposed to a hardware issue, calling Garmin Monday. Disabling “stabilization” and using the default pitch angle is a temporary fix, at least for me.
I’d call Garmin support. Thats what I did. They were really helpful and sent a new transducer. I will say that I no longer trust Garmin. That whole situation was a disaster and apparently it’s still not solved.
@@freaknfishn I just spoke with Garmin support and it is a known issue and will be addressed with the next update, the release date is not known but stated three to four weeks, with all the testing and verification involved.
@mase357 well I guess that’s good that they plan to address it. What’s not good is it’s been probably 2 months since they sent me a new transducer for the same issue. AND this has been a known issue for way longer than that. They should have had this solved by now. I hate that you or anyone else is having to deal with this. They should be compensating you guys in one way or another. I’ll be done with Garmin after the next problem I have with it.
@@freaknfishn I agree completely
Well, had to send my LVS34 back to Garmin, was still having the “screen rocking” issueafter the update and felt like the image didn't look as good. More to follow
I’ve had one for years and never cleaned it or anything and I’m still catching big fish with it lol
Haha yeah they are like tanks!
@@freaknfishn yea they definitely are lol
Can i send u a video of my evinrude not cracking?
Man I’m not a mechanic. I probably wouldn’t be able to help. I’m just a little handy and like to post videos when I do figure something out so it might help someone.
Delicious, put you to bed too. Natural sedative.
My trolling came off boat anf fell in water. Im doing this now.
That’s awful man! Hope you got it going again!
A timeless classic, I’d eat slop regardless if I’m camping or not. I personally like the deer meat route myself too, cheers guys
Thank ya! Yeah I’ve used beef, deer, and turkey. All were good. Beef is my favorite I think
Hi today after the weekend I wanted to start my Mercury optimax 2006 engine and then it turned out that there was no spark on any of the cylinders any ideas first thing I changed the crankshaft position sensor Thank you for help :)
Well first I’m not a mechanic but my first thought would be to make sure your kill switch is good after that my thoughts would be the stator or CDI
You skipped over the ONE THING I watched to see how you did it.. the springs pushing the brushes has been a nightmare for me
Thank you so much! You save our fishing week man! Exactly what you said it was the same coil in problem. Thank you so much!! ❤❤❤
Can’t get better than saving a fishing trip!
Meredith is actually a pretty deadly lake. With the winds that the panhandle gets, Amarillo being the windiest city in the USA, and if you get caught out there in a storm, meredith has produced the largest waves I have ever seen on a smaller fresh water lake. Like you can boogie board the waves from the shoreline if you time it right and I have seen them capsize small boats. You will often see sailboats on the lake, I have sailed a racing catamaran out there in highschool.
Wow, that’s interesting info. I usually try to stay off the water on really windy days but you’re right about those panhandle winds. If it’s blowing up and down the lake I could see how it could get wild. I’ve been caught on small lakes in a wind storm before. We thought we were going to sink a boat on a little bitty lake near DFW called Pat Cleburne on time. Since then I’ve been pretty careful about it.
Same thing happened to me this week (Aug 2024) at the same ramp. Still a problem.
You’ve gotta be kidding me!!! Something needs to be done about that. Thanks for the comment. I’ll avoid that ramp at all costs from now on
My 90 opti doesn't always burn the fuse but has trouble starting. After a couple cranks it burns the fuse . But my starter chewed up my flywheel. Now I need to order a flywheel and a starter hopefully I can figure out what is wrong with my outboard and hopefully just order me coils 😢😢😢
It’s always frustrating having outboard problems. I’m not a mechanic but hopefully it’s something as simple as the coils for you.
@@freaknfishn if wasn't for you & this video I never would of even know where to begin thank you so much from beautiful California 👍👍
Well I sure hope it helps out! Good luck! Thanks for watching!
We fished this lake 3 solid days with all kinds of walleye and crappie lures, rigs, jigs minnows, & worms…caught nothing!
Oh wow. How long ago was that? I haven’t been out there in a couple years
Hitting well on the black a yellow crank
They were. Idk why but that color has just worked all year on all waters for me.
Thanks buddy for the tips on reel maintenance. I’m going to tackle my Revo Toro beast next.
You’re welcome! I’ve let a few of mine go a little too long. Gonna have to get on that soon
You didn't lubricate the steering at all. The grease zerk only lubricates the tilt bushings.
Garmin Force is exactly the same way. I can't wait to get rid of it. Yours does sound louder though, i can never hear the Garmin, even at speed 14, the noise comes only from the water
I noticed the sound on the video too. Idk what was going on there. It’s a lot quieter than it sounds in that vid. I love the motor but that one feature drives me crazy compared to my Minn Kota. The rest of it is better tho
That cardboard tube is supposed to hold the brushes back while you slot the armature into place.
That’s good to know!
@@freaknfishn yup when you push the armature in. the bearing will push the cardboard ring into that recess and itll just sit there until the next rebuild.
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
I will be doing this tonight and tommorrow- thanks for the helpful video
You’re welcome! I hope it helps. Good luck with the project!
Super helpful, thank you!
Glad it helped out!
I looked all over for a vid like this. My first time out I got some line tangled up inside the line holder. It won't come out. This video showed me how to get that holder off to get it untangled. Thanks friend.
You bet! Glad it helped you out!
I think that’s fish was still alive just cold stunned from the ice lol
Haha you saw that too? Yikes
How does it taste steamed?
I’ve never had it steamed but I’d imagine it would be good. It’s a really clean tasting fish
Can you add what exactly you ordered?
I didn’t hang onto the exact part numbers but they came from Lakeside Marine. I ordered armature, brushes, and seal kit. Each of those were separate. They need your serial number to get the exact parts since parts vary based on years but it’s super easy. I went through the chat on their website and they gave me links to exactly what I needed. Or you can call them and get the same info.
Thanks!
You bet!
Thanks for sharing, I'm sure there's plenty of people who needed this!
Thanks for watching!
Great vid! What are you using for leader?
No leader. It was just 50lb Yozuri braid
@@freaknfishn Thanks! I caught a 20lb gar on a crankbait on the Ohio river a couple of days ago, but lost at least four fish that felt much bigger. I don't think I've ever been hooked up to something so big. I was only using 15lb braid, which their teeth seemed to cut through like butter. I wasn't targeting gar, obviously, but now I am intrigued to do that. I was thinking a thicker braid, or fluorocarbon for leader material. Braid probably allows for better lure movement than the firmer fluorocarbon. Will I need 50lb, or could I get away with a thinner braid for leader?
@fredriksarnblad4441 first, I’m no gar expert. Like you, I happened upon them feeding in the middle of a reservoir. I had several hit a crank on 12lb fluorocarbon. I couldn’t get a good hook set. The biggest rod I had rigged was 50lb braid I used for flipping. I tied up and got every one of them to the boat. The braid got a good hook set. I figured I’d never get one in but it sure worked. Never broke one off
@@freaknfishn Thanks for sharing.
You bet! Thanks for watching and good luck getting one of them in. It’s a lot of fun!
If there’s one thing I can’t stand about being an outdoorsman, it’s meeting so many people that hear and perpetuate some rumor about something being gross. “Pickerel is a trash fish.” “Bear meat is too greasy.” “Deer hearts are too rubbery.” The list goes on and on. Ironically, a lot of the people that say this stuff haven’t actually tried it lol. It’s just a cliche thing they’ve heard and regurgitated (pun intended). Tl,Dr: good on you for trying it for yourself. Cheers
That was one of the best fresh water fish I’ve had. They’re boney but the meat is super clean.
TU for the help..I bought mine 2017. An amazing reel !
You bet! I can testify to their durability. I’m still fishing both of mine. They’re as good as the day I bought them!
Anyone else's seal not move like that? I can't move mine up and down like that to check under it
it's really by Bowie, TEX
When you need a hammer - the nearest tool becomes a hammer! Thanks for the walkthrough.
😂 fact!
Dish wishing machine or man?
I had same problem. Gasket failed after 5 years.
Yep. I think mine went about 6-7 years. It probably would have been smart to change out the seals at some point but I didn’t lol. Then there’s always getting braid wrapped up in there that will blow the seals
@@freaknfishnwas tgis causing you batteries to drain faster wgen trolling?
Micro or mini fuse?
My manual states that the steering should be retracted not the way you show. With the steering fully extended the way you show can lead to vapor lock. This can lead to the steering to lock. It happened to me.
