I lucked into a set of Epon af703 with Nippon Modus 120 stiff shafts from my local thrift store this year, and holy cow, i was a tried and true Callaway iron guy, but after 1 swing of the epons, the X-hots got pulled out of the bag... cant recommend Epon enough, and wish they were more available/common here in the USA...

Any idea when the Srixon ZXi range of irons is going to be available for fittings?

Great insight. I’m a senior golfer. Currently only down to 8 iron with a 27 and 24 degree hybrid. I miss a 7 iron though for chipping!!!! Previously advised to go no lowers than a 7 iron at 30 degrees to get better flight. All the best. 😊

Scot, we went to Chesterfield and have a full bag (less putter)fitting for my wife. Just her second set in her brief 7 year “career”. Her handicap dropped from 29 to 20, winning 3 “majors” and 2 other cup comps. She has really enjoyed her all Titleist bag. Her fun and confidence has reached new heights. I visited and had a bag fitting less putter. After 4 years of cancer then major heart surgery, my ball speed fell off 25%. Looking for improved speed and fun my Srizon irons and Titleist woods have given me back 18/20% ball speed and improved accuracy. I was going to struggle to maintain my 10 hcap and I’ve done it. Shooting one round of 6 over. Your wonderful fitter Laurence has helped transform our golf performances and pleasure. Not bad for a couple of 74 year olds playing quite a difficult golf course. ZX5/7 and T100/150 have won many tournaments and majors. Truly HOF irons. But even a lowly 13 index like me can appreciate ZX7. Ping Blueprint T/S had a very strong 2024 and are well on their way to the same category.

Fantastic chat guys. Really good fun and lots of great insights into the variations out there. But how did Scott get away with not sharing what he’d build for himself? I’m happy with my T150s from earlier this year, but have to say you’re tempting me to come back and try the next Srixon line, or even one of those other ‘boutique’ Japanese forgings 🤔. Have to say i got the new p770s.. and couldnt wait to get rid of them 🫣. Got the cobra king tour and they just blow them out the water imo.. In saying that the shaft prob has a lot to do with that moving from a stiff mid 115 dg to the kbs tour lite which are 100 grams.. Would be keen to know i the shaft can make that much of a difference in feel and over all shape of my shots

A really informative review guys, I have played the Cobra King CB in 4-GW with Project X 6.5 shafts for almost 18 months, I am very happy with their performance plus they look really nice but at times this year I have felt that a little extra forgiveness in the 4 and 5 irons would be good although I do hit my long irons well and lave no issues flighting them. I have recently seen pics of the King CB and King Tour irons in the new black DBM finish and was blown away as they look amazing, so now I am very keen to test the King Tour black irons so what other similar irons would you recommend that I also test out, my 7 iron clubhead speed is 96-97 mph and I am quite steep so I compress my irons well hence my 7 iron dynamic loft is about 24-25 degrees.s my irons well hence my 7 iron dynamic loft is about 24-25 degrees.

Very interesting insight. I am a 14 handicap player who is thinking about new irons. It would be great to see a fitting for a player with this standard to see what it may reveal and improve .

Fitted by Aaron for irons and woods in the past. Excellent fitter and great knowledge. Entire team very customer orientated and would highly recommend a visit.

Loved the video, I recently had a session with James looking to gain some yards off the tee. He was honest and said he couldn’t beat what I already had. I’ll soon be looking at fairway wood and will certainly be making an appointment. Great work boys.

Having been fitted for various clubs by Aaron over the years, I can definitely say he’s flourishing in the SGGT environment with the expansive options now at his disposal. Aaron really takes the time to understand what you want from the fitting and has a great knack of combining that with what will work for you. The fact that he has access to the vast array of heads and shafts, and the ability to refine things like loft and lie through the fitting, really enhances his own ability to assess your golfing needs. Don’t let the bun put you off 😉, Aaron knows his stuff and will make sure you get something that will not only improve your game but that you’ll be happy to take out the bag and look down on for each shot. I’ve still got a space in my bag after this year’s bag refresh so watch out Aaron, I’ll probably be back before the 2025 season starts 🤫

Thank goodness we don’t have to impress James when being fitted 🤣. James helped me find a new driver during a fitting earlier this year. He listened to my on course issues and watched me hit a variety of heads and shafts, tweaking and suggesting options as we went through the process. I ended up in a head/shaft combo that I wouldn’t have thought about and wouldn’t even have been able to try elsewhere. I’m now in play more often without sacrificing any distance and feel much more confident from the tee as a result. I’d absolutely recommend a fitting with James if you have a chance to do so.

Will the universal adapter you use be compatible with cobra future fit options? Or will this be locked to what the universal adapter allows?

This year has been the first year I personally think players were spoiled for choice. When I got fitted by you guys at the start of the season for my G430, it was a toss of a coin on performance from all brands. Looking forward to seeing what happens next year with the brands

Whens the best time to getting a fitting if youre looking for a driver from last years line up?

Loved the format of this test with a direct comparison of the driver heads with Carys’ current shaft and grip 👍🏽 Would be interesting to see if different shafts would make any difference to the performance of the heads. Good looking swing Carys 👌🏽. Having been fitted by both this year, I’d highly recommend a trip to see Aaron or James for anyone in the market for new clubs. The whole SGGT experience is truly fantastic from start to finish.

I think you unintentionally mislead people by saying that the HL model is typically for golfers of the higher handicap range. In reality, they are for the golfer who needs height and/or spin, REGARDLESS of handicap. I am an older golfer, but still a single digit handicap, and my interest in the HL model would be to pick up both height and spin, as my 72 mph 7 iron swing doesn't generate enough of either.

So did you use the same shaft and just use a different setting to move it from the Pured position? In my opinion this test should be done with a robot to take out the human factor and with the exact same club head position with each test. To me SST pureing is just something to help bring in more revenue and doesn't help or hurt the golfer.
