I received many requests explaining my short vid where I jumped in a pool with a back pack and stated I was ' Breaking in New Equipment'. This one has a bit more explanation to it.
Slip Rope
Переглядів 888Місяць тому
Make certain you practice this BEFORE you drop out of a tall tree! The rope can be immovable or " stuck" if it is a new rope so you will have to play with it to find the right amount of wraps to use. If you break something on the first try then you'll know what I mean.
That’s definitely quite a skill to have…👍🏻 Thanks for sharing…‼️
With a long sling you can actually kill a large animal. The Hazera people actually kill wolves with their slings.
@@G.O.Bushcraft Do you find that using this method is more accurate than a slingshot…?
@@AlpineWarrior550 With practise I can hit a 5 gallon bucket at 50 yards. Accuracy comes from slow launches not the hi velocity launches. Also, a one pound rock will disable most critters. The sling was designed to stop, not kill a critter.
Excellent. Simple is good!
Maybe I can make a primitive grenade launcher out of this sling.
Nice 😊
Thanks for the visit
I really appreciate this video
Thank you Alan. Was it helpful?
@@G.O.Bushcraft absolutely helpful
Nice, good info. Gonna try these things when the rain stops.
Be safe, try it out on a short climb first.
Hi my friend… Excellent demonstration…👍🏻 We called it a Ranger Seat also…‼️ FYI… Only cool guys can have a cool guy rag … So you definitely qualify……LOL Thanks for sharing and Stay Strong 💪🏻 buddy…‼️
Thank you AW. I would like to do a longer vid showing many different rope tricks. Maybe this fall when it's cooler.
@@G.O.Bushcraft Absolutely, I think that would be awesome and many people would like and appreciate that…👍🏻
Superb! Thank you Doyle!
Hope to have more later and thank you.
Doyle, I love your no bullshit videos brother, keep it up.
Thank you Dave, I hope to keep them coming.
Nice info
Thank you Brother
Very cool, thanks for the demo
Thank you Alan.
Do you use a special type of detergent? I suppose that you wouldn't want to throw any type of soapy water into the forest
Yeah he didnt use biodegradable detergent just left some crud for the earth. But this is a good idea if you use the right detergent.
@@G.O.Bushcraft Yeah i’m aware. Did you actually dump the water here in a bucket that we didn’t see on camera or on the forest floor?
I did this demo in my back yard for a bunch of school kids who are going out next week. Also, they {the camping kids} are taking green cleen and other types of eco friendly detergent with them. Yea I should'nt have used that poison soap - touche dlikrunes and Kamryn.
@@G.O.Bushcraft Sounds like it will be a cool trip for the kiddos. Hope ya’ll have fun and be safe.
We were taught that at JOTC (Jungle Operations Training Center) in Ft. Sherman, Canal Zone, Panama. Yup, it works.
I was stationed at Fort Davis Panama and we used it a lot. You had to take three ponchos with you when ever you did anything. Thank you ntvr.
I was stationed at Fort Davis Panama. Yea, thats where I learned it.
Another GREAT video! Thank you :)
Hello Shemp. The lighting was bad in this video but the clouds broke up halfway through it. Thanks Amigo.
@@G.O.BushcraftConsidering the superb information that you share, no one with any sense of appreciation should care about imperfect lighting. If anyone complains, refer them to me and I'll set them straight!
Wow! thanks brother.
Is nobody going to mention that he literally picked up a freshly burned out piece of coal? 3:00 Yeah, I'm nobody, and I am going to mention that Because its badass
Hello Sirhakonik. I didnt feel the heat due to the embarrassment of NOT getting that d- - n fire started. I have a 50 - 50 rate of success with this fire starting technique. Thank you friend.
Thank you VERY much!!!! Suberb presentation! I'm subscribing. God bless brother :)
Thank you Shemp. I learned this technique from the Shawnee people in the Appalachian Mountains. We should be grateful to them for all of life's skills.
@@G.O.Bushcraft Amen to that.
I'm a paddler and have many dry bags.. never thought of this.
I bet your clothes get funky on the water after 2 days of splashing. Use this bag trick and dont forget the soap.
of the hundreds of videos about starting fires on youtube i've never seen someone do it like this
Thank you Goadman but I owe it to the Shawnee people of Appalachia. They have many useful skills for life.
Learning spindle primitive fire starting is the pinnacle of fire starting survival skill. Primitive cordage for a bow drill takes too long to make and breaks fairly easily. Primitive Technology, John Plant, makes them faster with a spindle than most people can make them with a lighter.
I recommend Primitive Technology for everyone! Even the US Spec Ops SERE school watches him religiously. Thank you Sir.
very cool...never seen that technique before!!!
Thanks Jack of None. The Shawnee People use it but they dont get the blisters.
@@G.O.Bushcraft How cool is that...native knowledge is awesome...I think I'll subscribe...
Seriously, you would be shocked at their knowledge.
Wow. Who would have thunk?! Excellent demonstration!
From the old days.
Nice
Thanks
Very practical idea my friend…👍🏻
Did this back in the dirt time.
Excellent video
Thanks for the visit
Good job getting that started doesn't look easy. I love the sound of all the critters this time of year. I wonder if Bigfoot is back there watching you. Hehe😂
Big Foot was holding the camera.
@CamplifeBushcraft999 He did a great job tell him I'd like to buy him a beer. 🍺
Excellent! We need more of this information.
This will take some time..... stand bye.
Looks like you can get some serious velocity with that.
Yes.
I thought that was sarcasm.
What was the sarcasm??
I wish someone had taught me this years ago. Superbly demonstrated.
Thank you much.
Nice
Thanks
Awesome
Thank you
Great job my friend…‼️ These skills are really awesome to know…..👍🏻 Thanks for sharing…‼️ Ever work with bamboo…? JEST school really shows you all the possibilities with Bamboo… Hope your staying cool Buddy… Stay Strong 💪🏻
Thank you Warrior.
Great demonstration…👍🏻‼️ That looks like it could be very affective…💪🏻
It is.
Excellent! Wish I had known this when I was younger - would have saved me from nearly drowning!
Thanks for clicking.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you Renman78. Tell me, what should I do to improve it??
Outstanding demonstration my friend…👍🏻 Thanks for sharing and Stay Strong 💪🏻…‼️
Thanks Warrior. I dont like the lighting at the beginning but then the clouds went away and it brightened up some.
interesting and great video - glad I watched
It was my 3rd take. Bad lighting.
Watch out for the feral people.
I married one!!
Nice!
Thank you JH.
Could you please show how you make the hanging hunters hut? Im very curious to try this, thank you in advance
Thank you for your enquiry ! Here's the rub, in Africa they use bamboo which is very light weight but extremely strong. Here in North America the wood is very weak {compared to bamboo} but extremely heavy {again, compared to bamboo}. So, the problem I have run into is not finding a cable, rope, twine system that is strong enough to lift up the wood that I can find here in the USA. In the Cong they use rope and twin that can hoist bamboo which is strong enough to hold them up in the trees. I tried to use PVC pipe but it was too heavy for the cheap rope I did find. it snap and my fat ass agreed with gravity. So..... what I did find is mature cane reeds but not enough of them to make a hanging hut. I am going back to that location soon to pick up a bunch more and if I acquire enough of it I will do a vid on the " Ngala Hunters Hut". Ill explain to you how it's done. really simple!!!! They tie rope around a tree trunk from the top down and tie it onto the four bamboo poles. Think of it as a four square box figure around a pole. The weight of the platform pulling down keeps the rope tight around the tree trunk. Keep in mind that those trees can be 130 feet high and the platforms are anywhere from 20 to 50 feet in the air surrounding the tree trunk. When you see one in the Congo it looks like a pile of garbage that was left from a very high ranging flood that deposited a bunch of trash in the trees but it's not. Those people use all kinds of trash, plastic and whatever in their construction of these huts. Did this help??? Please let me know.
Very cool, ill look into it more. I was thinking about tying what people call 'tree nets' in the forest to hunt from and to sleep in. However those are quite permenant, leaving rope in the forest which is neither enviromentally friendly nor cost effective.@@G.O.Bushcraft
I don’t remember this episode of th Red Green Show
I dont remember the "Red Green Show". What is it??
@@G.O.Bushcraft it was a fun Canadian tv show from the early 2000s. Kinda a “mens” show about duct tape and such. Search for it on UA-cam you might enjoy it.
I found it. Didnt think Canadians had such a developed sense of humor.
@@G.O.Bushcraft Canadians make some of the best shows. Letterkenny is fantastic if you haven’t already heard of it.
@@AustinHerrig Thanks Austoner, I'll check him out.
Effective and simple. And in this day and age, rebar can be found everywhere.
Thank you. Simple has endurance.
Great to know these alternative methods of hunting, etc...
Thank you
Great video!!!
Thanks for watching
Awesome demonstration my friend…👍🏻‼️
Thank you Warrior
I didn’t think much of it until it was thrown and it penetrated the eucalypt.
Poor advertising but a good product anyway.
Now that looks like a nice spot to drop in a line and pull out some trout. Your videos are very interesting Doyle keep them coming.
Yes it was.
He was a prior Green Beret who wrote several interesting books you should look him up…👍🏻 I think you would like them….
Thanks, will do.
"Get outside guys!" Love it.
Go see the world!
And what was also a plus with the C rations or K rations was you could use the cans to make a stove…. The downside was of course the weight…
MRE's much lighter
Would you believe while in Korea we traded MRE’s for Ramon noodles and moon pies…
@@AlpineWarrior550 In Kentucky moon pies are both a meat and vegetable. Yes I do believe it!
This topic is very interesting because of the way that these things are constantly changing…. Having said that, one should have various ways to navigate. Along with knowledge and practiced skills……. This is why your videos are very interesting and useful…..‼️👍🏻
Thank you much Warrior.
