Quick review of the new Nisi X100vi NC UV filter kit compared to the Hoage and original lens piece.

I used to have the X100T with the official leather case. The design was much better, not sure why they changed it. It used to clip together at the bottom but had a magnetic attachment so when I took a shot I could just flip it open quickly and it would stay attached. It was nice and snug with no gaps. Had this for about 5 years and no need to worry about the clips over the strap, it was fine for me. Wish they would just keep the design the same. The button at the back looks like it would rub against my body.
Does it fit with just the lensmate thumb grip and no other accessory? Thanks!

Thanks for the in-depth look on this, I was debating whether or not to get this case - but after seeing that you have to remove pretty much everything on it (Strap, leather case, and hood or filter) its a no for me. 😆
Excellent review, and very timely as I was looking to get one for my X100VI. Unfortunately, your review just reinforces my own concerns about this case. I have a half-case on my X-Pro2 that fixes far more securely with a screw into the camera's tripod mount, and then still lets me attach a tripod. It does away with the need for the little securing straps over the strap lugs too, and gives me full access to the left and right-hand doors for card swap and cables. I think the Muziri Kinokoo half case would be a better bet than the official one for the X100VI, and it incorporates a more pronounced hand grip front extension. That also suits me as I currently have a SmallRig grip on the camera with that extra extension. It will be a shame to have to swap the SmallRig grip for a half-case but I think the half-case will protect the body more effectively. Like you, I have a Lensmate thumb grip and soft shutter release button so I think the full case would not fit. One other problem is that I have a YC Onion square hood on my camera and there is no way a full case would accommodate that. I hope that someone like SmallRig or JJC will bring out a better full case that would cover a lens hood but that might be a way off yet.

I tried this filter on my x100vi. This filter is not compatible 😫 it touches the lens when you try macro picture and produce a focus error. Sorry but this filter can damage you x100vi lens!!!

Based on the comments from reddit, NiSi released an updated version that is named "NC UV" filter which fits better for the X100VI... did you perhaps buy your filter back in 2023?

@@sanfranciscofog i bought one from amazon months ago, it was called "NC UV filter for fujifilm x100vi" and it works just fine, no gaps either it fits flush to the lens

Thank you for this. I’m glad the cover fits with the filter and lens cap on. I agree with the gripes you have. Do you think the button backside on the inside would ruin the camera itself?

It’s the Fuji 100V case. I figure I’ll do a quick video on that too. It’s deff nice but I’m worried about it staying in place over time.
@@Buckeye-ish yes please do a quick video. I’ve kept my x100vi without accessories with exception of NiSi filter. I wasn’t looking for anything else until noticing how nice that case looks.
