​@@DaveJohnsonad5nm No one?? Hmm...so you are basically saying no police or emergency vehicles should be on the streets to help people with life threatening issues?? I'm sorry, but these are essential sir! I had police vehicles in my area that crashed as well into other cars trying to help stranded people because the city decided not to treat any of the streets. Sadly in my area, there was never any treatment before, during, or after, dozens of cars were smashed because the authorities didn't think treating the roads was necessary. I've lived here for decades and the hills in my area were never given any attention, first time EVER! I just don't understand what happened, never, ever, seen it this bad. Don't people understand that not everyone can stay off the roads?? Unless the city shuts everything down completely, including hospitals, gas stations, grocery stores, etc, it's simply impossible for everyone to stay off the roads. Is it really that hard to understand this?? People's stupidity just amazes me.

That's a lot of miles! I totally get it-ice can be terrifying, especially when you can't see it clearly and it takes so little to lose control. Snow might slow things down, but at least you can get some grip on it. Stay safe out there and keep those miles safe!

@@Weatherisdangerous I am not a long haul/semi driver, but I had a job where I had to drive about 50K/year. I did it for many years. I can say, I have never been in a fender bender in ice, but one time, this happened: I was driving on a road that I "thought" might be a little icy (sometimes, you can't tell), but I hit a patch and started sliding...I geared down (5 speed), not braking and steered as best as I could for the ditch. As soon as I hit the ditch I floored it. It had about 8 inches of snow in it. I spotted an "approach" (near a corn field) and steered my car to it and made it back on the road. This was all in about 7 or 8 seconds. The car behind me, tooted and raised his thumb in a "good job" way. I have to say, one of my most proud driving moments. Thanks for reading!
