When Shaggy mentions we have different personas with different languages. That's so key with all these documentaries and building relationships. Not even language, Accents! When we speak in english in school vs english at a hawker centre to aunties, completely shifts in personas! One key in storytelling is definitely being able to bend yourself to the person we're trying to extract a story from and making them as comfortable as we can with our knowledge in language and culture. A good reminder for me as well to keep this in mind because we tend to get too formal in our message that sometimes it's all about just focusing on making the person on camera comfortable and being human, to be able to get a good story out! Thanks guys!

@@OKJworks I can't decide 😆 I think it would be hearing Chin Hsien share about his efforts to connect with his grandfather through learning Chinese and learning how to roast the duck - things that are central to his grandfather's life. And it's so encouraging to hear about someone who would choose to let the audience see him experiencing something uncomfortable/new, in order to portray something authentic. I think such honest sharings are very necessary and empowering. Thank you for interviewing him, so that we can have a glimpse of all the heart and thoughts behind this! 🥹

@@Kirinimusic That was certainly one of my favourite moments too! While I had the chance to talk to him before the cameras were rolling, it was only during the interview itself when I gained this new appreciation on his courage in the face of uncomfortability. I think it goes so show what we can achieve when we set our minds to something and also just simply believing in ourselves to try new things And thanks for the compliments! I'll share it with the rest of the team =) - OKJ
