    I've just started doing cheat curls as a main movement. So far I can do about 125 for 4 reps with 4 second eccentrics. It definitely helps me feel stronger and I think it should be seen more as a functional movement

    So my lever belt always comes undone on the way down on a deadlift why is this

    • @Gymreapers
      @Gymreapers 25 днів тому

      It sounds like your lever belt might be coming undone due to a few possible reasons. First, the lever itself could be faulty or not engaging properly. Another possibility is that the belt might be too thick, causing the lever to struggle to stay engaged. Additionally, if you've lost weight over time and the belt has become too large, there might be too much overlap for the lever to hold securely. Please email us at Support@gymreapers.com with the belt’s original order number and a description of the problem you're experiencing. We’ll be happy to help you resolve this issue.

      Dumbbell curl doesn't have resistance on the stretch, either use a preacher curl or a bayesian curl.

  • @dekipgamer
    @dekipgamer 27 днів тому

    You want the resistance to be at the bottom, cable curls are a better alternative

      EXACTLY

    • @isabutchers5591
      @isabutchers5591 27 днів тому

      That’s why there’s a dumbbell too. It evens out the resistance so it’s equal at the top and bottom.

    • @dekipgamer
      @dekipgamer 27 днів тому

      @@isabutchers5591you don’t want it to be equal, you want the most resistance to be at the bottom, most stretched out part and thats not happening right now

    • @audacity1375
      @audacity1375 27 днів тому

      @@isabutchers5591 There's zero resistance on the bicep at the bottom. The movement at the bottom is almost parallel to the ground, meaning you don't work against gravity with your bicep. You get the most resistance in a regular dumbbell curl when your albow is 90 degrees, in the middle of the movement. It's a suboptimal exercise, and fixing the top part isn't changing that. Bayesian curl or preacher has much better resistance profile than resistance band for biceps.

  • @SasDuda
    @SasDuda 28 днів тому

    Please don't listen to this dude, this excercise is bollocks and you should only curl with your biceps and cheat curl close to failure when you can't even curl anymore, only use your biceps to control the weight and not your whole body. You're losing gains and time.

  • @jjjj-o3y

    Honestly it’s a waste of time, just control the eccentric and don’t rest

  • @steenkei
    @steenkei 28 днів тому

    You aren’t doing a controlled eccentric tho, so this was just a big nothing burger, but if you do control it this is a decent exercise. Only I would start by doing normal reps and when you reach or get close to failure you do the cheat concentric cuz there is also gains to be made in that part of the movement. then you add more volume by cheating a bit in the concentric and controlling the eccentric

    • @SasDuda
      @SasDuda 28 днів тому

      He's literally supporting the eccentric with his whole upper body instead of his biceps. Literally worst advice and video.

  • @zHop3
    @zHop3 29 днів тому

    Cheating is good on rows and curls, but you probably need to be careful starting with a weight you need to cheat the first reps of. Seems like you’d be more likely to get injured controlling the eccentric of a weight you totally cannot lift

    • @Gymreapers
      @Gymreapers 29 днів тому

      You're right! It's important to start with a weight that you can handle safely. Cheating on rows and curls can be effective, but if the weight is too heavy, it can increase the risk of injury.
