Hi Leigh, sorry Life is Lifing not in a good way, you have my thoughts and hugs. Also, what did you T-shirt say? Love your videos and look forward to seeing you next one. Happy stitching and hugs to you. 🤗💜🖤
Thanks. My T-Shirt says: I was not born to work, retire, and die. I was born to brood, wear a lot of black, and eventually become a feared poltergeist. :)
@@sticksstringsandotherthings You're welcome and thank you, I love it and I agree totally 🤣🤗🖤💜
Hi Leigh. I’m looking forward to your advent calendars opening. Thanks to you I got Birds and Blends tea calendar for the third year. Hmmm, has it already been almost 3 years since I start watching your Flosstube 🤔. Hope everything turns out alright. Sending hugs from Sweden ❤
I am glad you have enjoyed the past 3 years. :) And yay about the Bird and Blends tea. There's is so tasty, I wish I could afford the shipping to me. heh.
Hi Leah…or is it Leigh? I love your chatter! Fantastic sense of humour. Oh the Halloween stories…the candy canes, someone else has a great sense of humour too. I am looking forward to seeing you very often in December. May life’s challenges ease up for you. 🦉🧵🪡❤️
It's Leigh. And thanks. Yes, the kid with the candy canes was amazing. Thank you
Sorry to hear life is lifing. Hang in there, sending tons of good vibes from the other side of the world.
Thanks much.
Really like the "Home for Christmas" piece. May have to go looking for The Artsy Housewife piece, as well. :-) Thoughts are with you. Take care.
They are both great pieces, you should. And thank you.
I'm working on Rooks, I was hoping to get it done this year but I don't think I'll make it.
oooh. You saw my pathetic progress. I can't wait to see your finish.
Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain 🎃👻🌛🌕🌜
Blessed Samhain
Fabulous WIPs, coming starts and knitting! That shawl is going to be stunning!!
Thank you. The final part of the shawl may take forever, but it will be great when done.
Leigh, your stitching and knitting are gorgeous!!!!
Thank you so much!
Greetings and salutations!! Your knitting is amazing! As always. I say go big or stay home when it comes to shawls. Speaking of big. AKGIT - 1833, when are you starting that beast? And would you mind if I start along with you? Oh what joy we will have!! No, really. Joy. 😅 Another great video. I always look forward to every other Wednesday. I thank you for your efforts. TTFN
Thank you! And yes, shawls should be shlankets. I agree. Please do start AKGIT 1833 with me! I'd love it! I am planning on starting this weekend. It will be a joy, a long long joy.
Wonderful Flosstube! Hopefully you got something other than tea as you were editing 💛🌹💛
I went with more tea and then water. Not exciting, but likely better for me. haha.
I do have a wonderful Scottish knitter to recommend for you. Amy Palko, A Meaningful Stitch. Her color theory is extraordinary! Please check her out! I love Poe, I could do 31 days of Halloween. Please look up Megan, the Wide Eyed Stitcher, who has a Poe wall!!
I already watch Amy. Her knitting is divine. I will have to check out the that Poe wall. I think it's something everyone should have.
Okay, I'm in! I love the Pacific NW. I would move there in a hot minute if I could. My lifetime bestie lived there and I visited. We walked in the misty rain, lovely!! I enjoy your projects and I have a question. Were you a drama major? Lots of fun watching! Your sweaters are so beautiful! I loom knit but haven't branched out yet but am learning crochet from my knit group. I enjoy seeing all your goodies on the shelves behind you! I'm going on 70, and have crafted all my life. Mom taught me needlework, embroidery, sewing, cross stitch, etc. I love cooking/baking as well and reading is a passion! So nice to meet you, you're very inspiring! Now that weve survived 2 hurricanes in 2 weeks in Tampa Bay, I am ready to move on to fun stuff. The yard cleanip is not done yet, but I've gone to the dump 5x's with my pickup loaded for bear. I especially love your yarn projects, yummy!!
The PNW is amazing, I have to agree. And yes, I was a Drama major, and English major too. Add in education, and I had grand plans. hahaha. Thank you so much. I hope all those hurricanes are done with you all for a good long while. Glad you survived!
Yes we too have spiders and natural webbing going on outside. But they have kept the pact to staying outside.
Love Notes is beautiful! In Winter Comes the fields of snow are definitely challenging…congrats!!! (Are you a narrator? Your voice sounded familiar. If not, you are very vocally skilled).
Thank you. and yes, those fields of snow almost did me in! I am not a narrator, but thank you that is a nice compliment. :)
Could you prepurchase the frame for your companion piece now so that you're guaranteed to have it? That sounds like a partner keeper - he got you yarn! Hey...did you realize it is October? 😃
I would think about it, but I need to know the size to purchase first and I don't trust my measuring. Another reason I am doing down the side. And yes, he is a keeper. It IS October!
You look amazing love this sooo much
Sorry I am still watching but you did so much this week, it’s amazing I am currently 47 and debating doing something stitch for Fifty, but I started cross stitch just last year and currently have 2 projects on the go, I find it overwhelming to have more bc I am so slow. I am also a knitter back in the early 2000s I had pods cast but it got to be too much with work and life lol. I just started a sweater by petite knits and I have N issue finishing g socks. I have six one socks lol
Also you have avast knowledge of yarn, a lot of patterns today use mohair and another yarn, do you have any recommendations for mohair substitutes it really gives me hives
Thanks! Do the 50 if you think it will be fun, or see what other thing that 50 could be... 50 hours on a huge project? 50 weeks with stitches everyday? And, I film every two weeks, I didn't and couldn't get that much done in one! As for mohair substitutes you could try a suri yarn. Many that have issues with mohair are ok with suri. If you don't need/want the floof factor, then just using a single yarn at a bigger weight would work. ie. fingering + mohair/silk = DK. You can also use a lace weight yarn that isn't mohair or suri. Again this would be a non-floof choice. As always, always do a gauge swatch! Replacing a non-floof yarn for a floof yarn can be a little tricky sometimes.
ah, yes, second sock syndrome. it would seem that is a thing for you!
Hi Leigh! (sp?) I was very surprised last night when browsing through my watching options for flosstube that a picture of my small for PNWSS showed up as a thumbnail in my feed! I'm so glad you liked it. The designer is Robin Pickens, but I can't remember the pattern name. I think it was a free download from FQS. Love all of your knitting projects! I love yarn, but sadly cannot knit. You did inspire me, though, to pull out a shawl pattern book that I have and possible start a crocheted shawl. Love your September Returns finish. I'm working on it also and saw Caroline's video regarding the poop emojis. I had just finished stitching all of the acorn caps at the time and that was all I could see until I put the rest in. Thanks so much for sharing with us! I hope you feel better soon. Tami
Yes, the spelling is right, nice! heh, I am glad you saw it. I know I thanked you for the small already, but it's still fun to see it out in the wild so to speak. You should do a shawl. It's the perfect season for bringing out the wooly things.
I love the bright purple floof!
It is very very bright.
I’m a knitter but I don’t. At least, not much these days. I do however have plans to knit and have patterns in my stash but I have not been foolish enough to start buying yarn. And hilariously here I am, sat watching a knitting stash dive. That, my lovely, speaks volumes to how fun your vlogs are to watch. 😊
heh, sometimes vicariously crafting is the best type of crafting! Also, thank you. :)
OMG all the pretty yarn I would have a hard time not playing with all of it. I am planning my fall and winter knitting and what to get at the yarn show here in the Netherlands this weekend.
I am playing with it all! That's how I ended up doing this video. :) I love planning my knitting out. I hope you enjoy your yarn show!
Two finishes…the cowbells are ringing. I am working on Weeds and Wildflowers by Artsy Housewife as I watch. I am determined to finish by the end of September. Are you coming back to Stitch North? I always assume I will get sick…some day it will happen. 🪡🦉🧵🌻🎵
I saw your Weeds and Wildflowers. I think you will get it done before the end of Sept! Sadly, no, I won't be making it to Stitch North. Can only afford one retreat a year, I think. But, I wish I could! I hope you keep staying healthy. This getting sick stinks.
Congrats on finishing your blouse (although a small part of me is sad that I won't hear you say "floof" anymore). I love the 'acorn' modification you made on your piece!
oh, no worries about me no saying floof anymore. I have two more floof sweaters waiting in the wings! And thanks. I kinda love that acorn field.
OMG just came across your channel and 100% thought you were that chic of Degrassi next generation, Lauren Collins. You guys could be twins ❤ has anyone ever said this to you?
welcome! and no, I don't think anyone has ever told me that. :)
Your top is so lovely! The colour is fabulous on you. 🦉🧵🪡🌻
Thank you so much. It is a great colour and yarn.
You are fast. I only have seven of the frames finished for the 31 Days of Poe.
I wanted to get it done so I could start my Sampler September starts. hahaha
🧚♀️💕
Congrats on the MFE finish - looks gorgeous! I vote for doing a teensy start on Haunted Library...but then get back to working on your biscornu.
Thank you! and it looks like you have been peeking at my crafting! That is exactly what I did. :)
Not shabby at all..your finishes are fabulous. Modern Folk EmbroEmbroidery…so amazing! Bestitch me fabric…I want that colour. Terrific video. 🦉🧵🪡😊
Thank you much! I don't think you can go wrong with a chart by Modern Folk Embroidery.
Love seeing your progress and work. Progress is progress no matter how much it is, this is what I tell myself regularly. I hope your partner gets well soon and that you stay well. Happy crafting
progress is always progress, I agree. so far I am staying well, and my partner is feeling better. Thanks.
@@sticksstringsandotherthings That's good that you are well and that your partner is feeling better, I hope it stays that way too. You're welcome and happy crafting.
I love your thought process / hope on why you chose Sunday. Hope your partner has a speedy recovery (and doesn't share with you).
When you have as much yarn as I do you really have to think about your grabby hands habit. :)
Yes you have stitched me something, or at least you gifted me something you've cross-stitched.
oh right! I didn't remember. d'oh.
Lovely work on your pieces. I think you should make a small. Just to join in the fun. Have fun at your yarn flock thing. Happy stitching.
I think I will stitch a small. I think. Only time will tell, and I am running out of time.
🧚♀️💕
I'm envious of your knitting skills (and yarn stash). Love that Paris pattern...hope you can work on it a ton during the Olympics (but hopefully not at the expense of your weekend plans!)
The stash is rather epic. snerk. Paris is big, so I hope the work I am doing shows!
Loved your Nantucket, chest, sheepy thing! I've just finished Around the world in eighty days by Plum Street which has the same vibe but yours is the on steroids version 😂 As ever, great video 😊
I had to check out the Plum Street pattern, it's lovely, but yes, I think mine is that one on steroids. :P
🧚♀️💕
☕️ loved your video and all your projects. Makes me want to learn to knit.
Thank you! If you wanna learn to knit you should! Always fun to give a new hobby a try. :)
Congrats at reaching 500 Subs! I am not quite there myself. I am hoping to start a Peacock, Unicorn and a Badger at the end of December.
Thanks! You should start it! Join in the lots of stitching fun.
🍵what a great person you are. i too cross stitch, make socks (in nalbinding not knitting) also spin with a drop spindle and i weave
nalbinding is awesome! You rock if you do that.
@@sticksstringsandotherthings gosh gee thanks
You always make me smile. Congratulations on FFO and FO stitches. I choose the same as you with the single random stitch snowflakes. Ah yes…allergies…they tested me and then said there was one thing I didn’t react to…yup, I understand. Take care and stitch on.🦉🧵🪡🌞
Glad I can make you smile. That is one of the best compliments. Thank you. I will admit watching you encouraged me to do some of that FFOing. You are good motivation!
Am sorry to hear it is so hot come to Europe it has been raining with a nice breese here in the Netherlands Love all you projects, keep cool and happy crafting
I'd love to go back to Europe! The Netherlands is beautiful. And I'd love some rain too. :)
Loved hearing the bird songs. :-)
I too like hearing the birds.
The climbing sounds amazing, I was going to go watch the swim olympic trials with my daughter bc a college swim team mate of hers was trying to qualify but she couldn’t get off from work so we just watched from home. I think you got plenty done and so glade you had a good time. I do think if anyone could knit and drive it would be you lol 😆 anyway have a great rest of June…thanks for the video
heh, I have knitted when I have been stuck in traffic jams. I got a big bit done on a hat that way!
Hahaha! I like tent camping, but in the vein of Shelley Long a la Troop Beverly Hills, I much prefer camping in a hotel. ;)
And your MFE progress is looking so good. It's going to be a knockout when it's done!!!!
agreed!
Thank you.
That last project bag you showed with the Weeds and Wildflowers chart is absolutely gorgeous! No wonder you had to purchase it! Just lovely. :-)
It really is stunning. And it looks better in person!
Starting is so much fun, I just got out my Elizabeth Zimmerman projects lol they tend to come out together. I also am trying to stitch a piece for my daughter. Having similar mystery yarns would irratate me that’s why I don’t do clubs any more thanks for the episode
Tan is boring but I think that beautiful linen might be too dark
Also I didn’t buy the villain pattern bc I hated the whole she hasn’t been saved …. I might buy it now and change it but I am not sure I could do that lol
I loved the first year I did the Farmer's Daughter Sock Squad. They were all lovely. But, this year, I am just disappointed. The yarns are lovely, but I don't like pinks!
I was thinking the same. So, I'll floss toss.
heh. I had to get it, like I said, but I will change it. It's just words and a bit of time with some graph paper. :)
🌻🌻🌻
Gorgeous framing on those pieces! I consider everything I stitch to be a mental-health piece, because I use the stabbing stitching method.
Thank you! And I do agree, all crafting is mental health.
Love seeing your progress on all your crafts, as I'm a multi-crafter too and looking forward to seeing what you choose to start for your 50 starts. Take care and happy crafting. 💜
Thank you much. I am enjoying all my starts, hope you like the little progress they make this year!
