Sara Shapuri "neutrality is an illusion. ... one benefits from the status quo"
much appreciated for speaking up!
deep deep gratitude to all
I am full of gratitude to you all - Thanissara, Lubna, Ilan, Maha, Jamal and Nicki, Michele and Maia - in these heartbreaking times, for this meeting of great siblings. I cherish this call to act from conscience, from spirit, to do all that we can to support the good and to disempower the harmful. I send a steady stream of love and solidarity to all Palestinian siblings in these terrible times of great loss, great suffering and even greater heroism. You are seen, we honour you, your every effort to survive, your resistance, your faith. The world is turning and Palestine will be free. Peace be with you all. As-salaamu alaikum 💛🙏💛

Thank you, Thanissara. This was a profound and healing dharma talk.
Thank you so much Thanissara 💛🙏💛
"silence is a form of communication that enables and feeds systems of oppression." !!! Yes!
Fantastic and inspiring! I would love to see more like this, as the crisis is ongoing and many Buddhist communities are not addressing it. More like this please! But we need to hear how Tovana is engaging as a whole, beyond saying "Israel has to stop this." That is a very basic bottom line. Their ethics explicily state the imperative to "avoid harm and the taking of life" and to practice "refraining from what is freely given." How is this enacted by Tovana in Jerusalem?
Thank you, Djuna! Your presence is nourishing. I will return to these teachings again and again.
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you all. This is a true sangha of wisdom and compassion. 🙏
I'm so grateful for you all. I finally don't feel alone in my feelings regarding how unsettled I've felt regarding the silence from Buddhist sanghas and teachers.

Thank you for your presence
Thank you for this beautiful and celebratory sharing. Congratulations Kittisaro!
Too many advertising in between. More than what I normally experiences when watching other youtube video
So sorry to hear. We do not profit from any ads shown during our videos, and we have no control over the ads displayed.
So glad that the three of you are bringing Guan Yin Bodhisattva's mantra and teachings to a new audience! Sadhu! Shanzai!
thanks for helping to balance a complex geopolitical situation with a simple call for peace. Articulating the need for a cease-fire feels like an important first step in a difficult process of asserting justice, seeking reconciliation and ultimately, finding forgiveness.
There are so many loud unavoidable ads that they ruin your beautiful memories and teachings.
Thank you, I'll listen to this during the week in Australia 🙏🪷

Judaism / the word comes from Judah….. the tribe of Judah
The conflict began in 486 BC And has nothing to do with Arabs and Jews….
The dharma community has been mute!!!
I really loved this meditation, thank you! One note though, this meditation gets interrupted in the middle by what’s called a “mid roll” advertisement- you can turn these off in your UA-cam settings and it will keep the ads to just before the meditation 😊
Thank you Sumedha for these Dhamma teachings, so precious and timely.
Gratitude for the chanting, guided meditation and the sublime Dhamma teachings. Touching the earth, refreshing and grounding. Thank you Sumedha.
@jen cannon - Thanks for bringing Rafeat Alareer to the circle. What a lovely teacher and human he was.
I really apprecaite this. All my regular teachers are staying silent diring this time and I"ve been struggling around their choice to do so. This is a breath of fresh air and I'm so glad to have come across it.
Huge gratitude for these wise and helpful teachings on patience, dear and wise Sister
Anyway, i have now listened to enough. VBB is referring to a two-state solution while Israel is currently acting & lobbying to have Gazans voluntarily leave Gaza as refugees to other nations. Thank you for your efforts. However, the Judaization of Western Buddhism is why Western Buddhists have mostly been silent on this matter. Too many self-identifying Jews here masquerading as Buddhists attempting to put lipstick on a pig. The truth is genocide (such as Purim) is a celebrated joyful sacrament of Jewish ideology. Merely viewing the most sadistic videos of Zionists rejoicing to the genocide demonstrates this. This is not a new phenomena but a 3000 year old indoctrinated doctrine. To reiterate, 'Jew' is not a 'race' or 'land'. It is an ideology of tribal supremacy; the same ideology that was an inherent part of the African Slave Trade and Apartheid. Take care. Thank you for trying, albeit way too late. Your mindfulness was too slow and not the swift messenger the Buddha spoke of. The Jewish perversion of Buddhism in the West has now come to its fruition with the deafening silence on this issue and the lack of comments on this video. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bhikkhu Bodhi uses the word "ceasefire" as though there is a two-sided war. Thanissara spoke well. All that is occurring is a premediated ethnic cleansing of a defenceless people. On Oct 7, I said to an ICC lawyer this is the end of Gaza. Oct 7 was like a false flag. The Israelis waited hours to respond, then killed many of their own people, then unleashed a tirade of media lies about beheaded babies and raped women. It appears all Hamas (who are themselves questionable given Israel nurtured them) did was to seek to acquire hostages for exchange. Keep in mind, under International Law, Gaza is an occupied territory. Please never say what is unlawful, namely, Israel has a right to self-defence. While next week the ICJ will discuss this self-defence issue again, at the present time, based on the last UN/ICJ ruling in 2004, Israel has no right to self-defence. Therefore, when we use the word "ceasefire", it can only apply to one-side, namely, Israel, who appear engaged in a deliberate premeditated genocide of a defenceless blockaded people.
Bhikkhu omits some things. Prior to WW1, the Ottomans & Egyptians allowed Jews to buy land in Palestine. They were generally accommodating. After WW1, the British came to rule and empowered & trained the Zionists and disempowered the Palestinian peoples. The Jews, being Jewish, naturally did not have a shred of gratitude to Palestine because they were both Jewish & Europeans. Jewish is not a race. Jewish is an ideology of tribal supremacy (as detailed in the Jewish religious texts).
There was really no "cordial relations" between Jews & Muslims. It was merely a one-side affair, where for hundreds of years, similar to the Byzantines, the Muslims wisely knew how to keep the Jews in their place and free from self-harm. It was Islam that maintained the religious pluralism of its lands. Jews & Christians obviously never had a similar intention because pluralism is something 100% alien to both Judaism & Christianity (which are both Jewish religions).
Bhikkhu Bodhi. Please. You correctly said in 1900 Palestine was about 3% Jews. In 1800, there were an estimated 7,000 Jews living in Palestine. However, returning to the year 1900, just around the corner in Cairo and Alexandria there were probably 30,000 Jews; up the road in Beirut 10,000 Jews; further on up the road 30,000 Jews in Damascus, Aleppo, etc. Jews chose to leave Judea starting during the Greek Empire to live & trade in the commercial centers of Europe & Middle East. All of those New Testament letters of St Paul were addressed primarily to Jewish people in Antioch, Galatia, Greece, Rome, etc. Please do not speak false speech about the expulsion of Jews from Judea. Only the political elite was expelled by the Romans. The people stayed.
Bhikkhu Bodhi you make a number of negligent errors. Firstly, under International Law, Israel is an Occupying Power, with no right of self-defence related to Gaza. There is no equivalence. You have no right to label Hamas as terrorists (even though they may be Israeli proxies). Secondly, it is very racist & ignorant to say "Arabs" lived in Palestine during Roman Times. The people of the Levant often do not regard themselves as "Arabs". Thirdly, the Jews were never scattered from Judea/Palestine. For example, in 615AD, the Jews of Palestine raised an army of 20,000 Jewish men in their Revolt Against Heraclius. Since you yourself give the impression of being of Tartar/Mongolian/Khazhar racial origin, it seems expected you have little understanding of the Middle East. Your attempt at history is from comic books and propaganda.
1:00:06 i did the same but was blocked twice on Facebook by one of VBB's colleagues when I mentioned the silence about Gaza. The Buddhists were engaged in political correctness & blind obedience to the American media; as they displayed during the Covid & Ukraine lies. Bhikkhu Bodhi, you were too slow. You acted too late. But even then, you maintained the lies about Oct 7, where probably most of the Zionists killed were killed by the Israel military (per the evidence). When Russia commenced its Special Military Operation under Section 51 of the UN Charter, the Buddhist internet lit up in its support for NATO imperialism & Ukrainian Nazism.
36:05 there is no complexity. Colonialism, murder, theft, lies, is not something complex. The Holocaust has no relevance to Palestine. Please never mention the holocaust. At least in respect to Gaza & the West Bank, the state of Israel has been deemed under International Law as an Occupying Power (having no right of self-defence) of the Palestinian Occupied Territories. This is the bottom line. It is not a matter of wisdom. Its not complexity. It is simply a matter of morality. Its completely polarized where one side is completely immoral & the other side is completely defenceless. We have a speaker here with dual citizenship yet Palestinians with no citizenship. Non-harming is to completely remove oneself from any association with Israel or the 'Judaic' ideology. 2000 years ago, many Jews gave up their Jewish identity and became Christians. Under Christianity, there was no longer the duality of Jew vs Gentile. Similarly, the Buddha taught those who join his Community give up their former names & clans.

23:26 unfortunately there is a truth-telling here which is always avoided, namely, there is no Jewish 'race' but only a Jewish 'ideology', which is the shared historical commonality of these people. Even when they 'become' Buddhists, they retain their Jewish identity, which has no basis in 'race' or 'land' but mere ideology. The genocide we are witnessing is part of the 'ideology' held for thousands of years. This is the truth telling. The truth telling includes their role in the Atlantic Slave Trade, in the European Empires, in Apartheid, in Communism and in the feudal oppression (in Poland) of those people who (also not a race) came to be known as Ukrainians. This is the truth telling. The truth telling cannot be real when the historic persecutors continue their false narrative of being the persecuted. They were the persecutors. They were those who set themselves apart, without overt gratitude towards their historic host nations, including Palestine and the Muslim world. Apart from this historical truth, thank you for the clear truthfulness of current events Thanissara. But, again, the genocide is based in the ideology, as Netanyahu invoked Amalek (from the ideological text).
Thank you Thanissara, Mel and Sumedha for this beautiful and touching Dhamma sharing
Fantastic to be in a space led by three women.
