Man I love those performances but please BALANCE THE APPLAUSE
A tragedy that this is my first hearing of Pressler! Fantastico. Horowitz has been my favorite for a long time. I wonder how many other great artists have come and gone that I've missed [in the recording era...] The last was lovely in the minor keys, but didn't care for the major-key parts. That's a "me" issue, clearly.
piano for soul
This is the best rendition of Nocturne I've ever heard.
These pianists of an older generation are still the greatest. Their reflective play beats the more virtuoso style of the younger pianists hands-down. Khatia Buniatishvili is one of the younger pianists who is in that first category. May there be more!
Just effortless the music is flowing from his body through his hands to the keys.
This is why we shouldn't eulogize the likes of Lang Lang, who turns the piano into flashes of lightning to dazzle listeners' eyes, but doesn't come within miles of their souls!
Chopin touches our hearts
He's playing that piano in "Zapfino"
What a time to be alive. Where even a grot like me can listen to such beauty and dare to dream of better days
each small touch of piano is perfect ...

Absolute touching !❤
Muzik, that reminds you of being vou caught up in the feeling of always searching for happiness but not being able to find it.
I had a piano instructor back in the 90s who was from Kiev and Horowitz went to the same Kiev Conservatory she went to, she told me how senior recitals are a big deal and they're done in front of a panel of professors who do not show any emotion after your performance. Zero. no clapping, no nodding, nothing. Horowitz finished, they jumped to their feet and applauded for a minute straight. He was that much of a force.
My dad used to play all these great pieces. This brings back such memories of my listening to him play, absorbed in pure joy of emotions.
Any other instruments you can put some additional chords, notes, beats, whatever, and potentially make it cooler or richer or better, but not with this instrument. With this you play exactly how it is meant to be played, the only difference can be how much you put your heart into it, and how much control you have over your fingers. Basically your heart ressonates into people's soul and make them feel it as nothing else can. I hope you get what i'm trying to say here.
The greatness of the Western European civilization echoes so bravely in this astounding musical testiment to their abilities and intellect to create the greatest achievements of mankind ever. Bravo! Bravo!

Wow, what a masterpiece performance, he has such a tremendous intention in EVERY note! Incredible, thanks for sharing it, I've never heard his music.
Great composition, for 5 starving infant new born kittens to hear .

Beutiful xxx
❤❤❤. Love this so much.
Music doesn't need eyes to watch who's playing the instrument. It requires one to close our eyes, reminisce the moments that we lived, or could have lived, imagine a world we want to live in, and simply take it all in...
i discovered chopin's noctures some twenty years ago in college... had one particularly challenging semester in business calc and I was cramming for an exam one morning. My professor barely spoke english (he would ask the class to correct his english in the middle of lessons and it was so awkward most of the time the class didn't try to help him and he would get frustrated, it was weird as hell) and the class size was around 40 students and everyone seemed standoffish the whole semester. I listen to the Nocturne in C sharp minor while studying alone in a student's lounge and I will never forget the dread I felt for the exam. I failed it... and felt miserable. Long story short, re-took the class next semester with a better attitude and mindset and a much better teacher and aced it and have remained a classical music lover since.
Beautiful ❤️
